When your host welcomes you choosing to wear a union jack tee shirt you know some excellent customer care awaits you. And so it did. In fact, in all our extensive travels we’ve never experienced the level of personal hospitality that came from the owners Despina and Manolis. As for the accomodation itself, it was clean, spacious and had all we needed for a very reasonable price. The lovely shaded veranda at the back was an added bonus. Beach chairs and parasols were there to borrow. And the breakfast on the terrace for €5 was a bargain. We loved the location too. An easy walk for a choice of three tavernas, a five minute drive to the delightful harbour of Sami festooned with places to eat. And a reasonable drive to a couple of beaches. All in all, what’s not to like. And that is surely who so many of our fellow guests come back your after year. Wise move.…

We have recently returned from our 7th stay with Despina and Manolis and their lovely family, what can we say that we haven’t said many times before, we feel like we are at home, they are genuinely nice people . FANTASTIC people actually, had some great nights in the garden watching football with them and other guests, wonderful atmosphere ( sorry about your team Manolis, I know you don’t believe me but I mean it ) . We have just returned from a 3 week stay at The Kalyso Sudios, and what a great time we had ! The owners Despina and Manolis are the perfect hosts, (even if Manolis is a big Liverpool fan😉). The apartment was excellent and cleaned everyday. A reflection of just how good this place is, is the number of people we met there, who have returned to Kalypso numerous times ! Karavomylos has 3 restaurants all within walking distance of the studios and the beach is a 2 minute walk. Sami is about 1 mile away and you walk there along the beach line. All in all, this is the place to stay, and we intend to return next year.

Just home from two weeks in this spotlessly clean hotel and surroundings Breakfast plenty of choice , mainly continental Staff very helpful Pool area, jacuzzi well laid out Try the snack bar , the food is lovely Near a lot of lovely restaurants and the ferry for telendos Only gripe I had was cause of a late return flight I couldn’t get to keep my room on There was t anywhere suitable to wash and change, manager suggested the pool shower (cold) and toilets but it was t very private . Luckily I was allowed to use toilets in the sister hotel zepherous. People from some of the other hotels can use pool area, though it never really was a problem. Lovely peaceful relaxing holiday

Oh my gosh, we had the best holiday ever! We loved staying here and didn't want to leave, even after 3 weeks! Karavomilos and Sami are fabulous places but staying at the Kalypso with Despina and Manilos and family has been the best part. They made us so welcome and they are extremely skilled and friendly hosts. We also made friends with other guests (of course you can keep yourselves to yourselves if you prefer to) The whole place is kept immaculately clean, and you can relax in any area of the lovely garden. Despina and Manilos are happy to help with anything at all, we took their suggestions of where to go and where to eat and visited some excellent places that we wouldn't have known about otherwise. We are home now and missing it so much, we will definitely go back and would highly recommend a stay here.…

In one word? Wonderful.. Now more details.. To begin with, the location of the airbnb is just perfect.. Antisamos in just 10 Minutes, Myrtos in like 25minutes, Sami in like 5 Minutes (Driving distance).. Exactly in the middle between the north Fiskardo with its wonderful beaches and Skala the south and its sandy beachs... 30 minutes driving from Argostoli.. So you could do everything while staying at the place of Despina and Manolis.. I don't think in the island you could find a better place to start your days.. Secondly, we will speak about the room.. it's even better than expected... Quiet, beautiful and really Clean! with a big garden to rest after a long day in the beach and exploring the island.. There is really a friendly atmosphere you can sense at the Kalypso place.. Nice people you could meet there! You could join them for a beer and talk and get some good advices for your trip or you could stay in your room/Garden by your own! You will feel no pressure or whatsoever.. Another tip, while staying in the place of Despina and Manolis and interested in a Boat trip (You drive it by your own) There is a company in just 5 Minutes walking distance from Kalypso place -Hop On- its name, where you can rent a boat and spend the whole day discovering the island.. Another good tip that you could do during your stay at Despina and Manolis.. !!Last but not least Despina and Manolis.. Such wonderful people.. Really helpful and always smiling.. We enjoyed every conversation with them.. We were always looking for any opportunities to talk to such cultered people.. Giving us amazing advices and always helping us with everything.. We felt in love with the island, but meeting Despina and Manolis was really the big cake... We will definitely get back to the Kalypso place and that was absolutly an Au Revoir!…

We can only say great things about Despina and her family. Our stay with them was amazing. We were celebrating our anniversary and we'll definitely never forget it!! They can give advice about everything on the island (ferrys, best way to arrive everywhere...) Also the rooms are always super clean and you feel like home. From the very second I pressed "book" I knew I had made the right choice with Kalypso Apartments. Despina contacted me immediately to inform me hurricane (Ianos) had damaged the island pretty badly, but would upgrade my room to sea view with a double bed, which I immediately agreed to! Despina pre-booked me a taxi, and was waiting at their apartment when I arrived :) with a welcome drink! The sea view room was incredible with a double bed and perfect views of the garden and also the sea - obviously! Beautiful apartment, lovely family, perfect area. This is why I have given 10/10 + recommend to anyone! :)

After Ianos had hit the island the decision was to stop accepting more bookings since it would not be as beautiful as usual for anyone to visit the island. For this year at least. But the " mistake" was made. I forgot to close down some dates in October so we came across this wonderful guy!!! We are so glad for this "mistake" because we met a friendly, easy going and honest person whom we believe -and hope- will meet further in the future. We thank you a lot for everything.

Spent a week here in October. Although Sami is starting to quieten down this did not detract from a wonderful visit. Despina and her family have a huge heart for hospitality and went above and beyond to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Within a comfortable walking distance from Sami it's a good base to see the sites and beaches of Kefalonia. The reviews sound too good to be true, but go and see for yourself, you will not be disappointed!

What a wonderful holiday we had in Kefalonia. Despina & Manolis are great hosts and made our holiday that extra bit special. We wanted to go to Patra to visit family and Despina helped us to sort out all the timetables for boats, buses and sorted taxis as well, while Manolis took us to catch the early morning boat. The apartments are well located and spotlessly clean and the breakfast was very tasty including the yummy yoghurt and homemade marmalade. This was our first visit to Sami but definitely won’t be our last staying at these lovely apartments.
