Family suite was brilliant for the 3 of us (including 2 1/2 year old) and staff could not have been better. Went out of their way to make us feel welcome including at the last minute arranging room service for our son and us. Food outstanding. Beautiful location in a dale, and within 30mins of loads of places to visit.

Thanks Losehill for a really relaxed stay in superbly comfortable surroundings. The food was excellent too … loving that beef fillet and the Derbyshire breakfast the next day. Highlight of the weekend was the hot jacuzzi outside with the view of the hills.

Stayed for one night in the Edale Suite. A perfect base for hiking and amazing views all around. The bar, lounge and restaurant are tastefully decorated and have a nice feel. Food in the restaurant was good, with good service from all staff, who were friendly and professional. Breakfast was very good indeed. Sadly, the accommodation was poor. The suite is tired and badly decorated, with cheap fixtures and fittings and flimsy furniture. Bed is large and comfortable, but the Edale Suite is situated right next to a small car park, where service vehicles come and go, including an early morning delivery - the noise woke us. Bathroom is good, but again tired and needs a lick of paint. Cheap plastic bins and cracked floor tiles in a room costing this much just doesn’t cut it. The whole suite just lacked any taste or coordination. Given that the hotel is an obvious choice for hikers, the corridors being badly fitted with carpet is a terrible choice - they are filthy, meaning anyone wishing to use the spa needs to walk through battered, dirty carpets. Goodness knows why they haven’t tiled the corridors. All in all, the stay was disappointing and did not live up to the hype that it received in a Telegraph article. A shame, I really wanted to like this place - it could be an ideal regular haunt for walking weekends, but can’t honestly say I’d be willing to return to stay the night, though I’d happily use the restaurant again.

Overall very good. Good friendly helpful service. Very good food in the restaurant. Parking is a bit limited. It would be a bit easier if the spaces were marked so people better used what is available. They have a strange system where you have to hang a sign on the room if you want it cleaned. No one said otherwise so we assumed you used "do not disturb" if you didn't want it cleaned. Our room was at the top and only accessible by stairs. Someone kindly carried our case up but it was still a climb. I think they should have asked if we were capable of that

We really enjoyed our stay. There was one hiccup on Monday evening when too many people came to dinner at the same time but the staff coped as best they could with politeness and good will. The food was outstanding and the staff were very efficient and friendly.

I'm am very glad to see you enjoyed your stay with us, especially the food and friendly staff. I'm sorry to hear about the issues in the restaurant on the Monday night when everyone arrived to dinner at the same time. We do book time slots for our guests to try and prevent these situations.
