. We arrived late at night, about 11pm. Our transfer driver did not know where the entrance to the hotel was located, so he dropped us off at the entrance to what looked like someone's garden, no lighting, no direction markers, no sign of a hotel. A couple of locals took us and our luggage through the trees and car park to hotel reception. We were not expected, there was some confusion as to who we were, who our travel agent was and how long we were staying. Eventually got checked in, then taken on a 10 minute walk along the sea front to the hotel we would be staying in, the Crystal wellness and spa which is connected to the Palace lux hotel. Fairly new with nice rooms on 8 floors, all rooms have balconies in the Crystal.
The room had a three seater fold out bed, a superking bed, a mini bar, a TV, free WiFi, lots of storage, an electronic safe, and a nice big bathroom.
A couple of downsides, the bathroom wall between it and the living area is clear glass. If you like your privacy, you're out of luck. The view from our balcony was 40% garden/sea view, 60% a derelict building site.
Breakfast is buffet style, all the usual stuff, hot drinks, tepid diluted juice, tap water, streaky bacon, three types of egg, sausage with a skin so thick a steak knife would not cut it, salad items, cereals, prepared fruits, yoghurt, cold meats and cheeses and many varieties of bread with jam or Nutella and warm sweet or savoury pastries fresh from the oven. It is the same fare every day, but we have had worse.
Dinner is again buffet style but not as varied as we would have liked. Usually, one each of fish, pork or chicken dish, a concoction of vegetables and potatoes done as either wedges or chunks dripping in garlic butter (all cooked nicely but only warm, never hot). Fresh prepared fruit, salad items, and small desserts, which usually disappeared within minutes of being put out.
Although we were half board, after 3 nights of the same old same old, we decided to eat out on an evening
Although the room we were given didn't have the best view, we were happy not to be in the main building,
Not the hotels fault I know, but the locals never seem to smile. They will not queue, and if you inadvertently happen to get in front of a moving one they will barge right through you.
Montenegro is a beautiful country along most of the coastline, mountainous, rugged, and quaint villages dotted about but it's people are not the friendliest we've come across.
It is cheaper than it's northern neighbour Croatia even though it has adopted the Euro, but it just lacks the friendlier attitude and superior customer service.
Probably will not visit again, but it's crossed off the list.

Really nice place. Great value for money. Set in beautiful grounds with friendly, helpful staff. Short path leads to the beach and the main street, so great location.
Rooms are clean and spacious.
Food wasn`t brilliant but not sure if this is because it`s approaching end of season (and I`m a bit of a fussy eater!)

We found the Hotel staff very helpful and they spoke English fairly well, The dining room staff were efficient and friendly and the pool staff seemed to materialise as soon as one prepared to settle, moved the sunbeds to where they were wanted, took the the towels and made sure that we were settled. I injured my ankle on holiday and the one of the pool staff advised me on physiotherapy as he was studying sport science. The waiters hurried to take my plate so that I could limp to my table in safety.
With regard to the injury, I took a walk above and behind the castle. This path was well paved and led to a tunnel which was not lit, having met many walkers coming the other way I did not realise that the floor was anything but flat. Obviously the other walkers were either lucky or knew the route as the floor had unexpected changes not to say pitfalls. I trod in one of these and suffered a sprained and very painfull ankle. So take a torch on walks!
The resort is quiet but has many bars and cafes but with little to do, so if like me you are a fast reader take a few books as the hotel supply of English language books is limited.
The food was very plentiful and although there were few menu changes in the week I stayed there was always something for everyone.
I took the trip to Skandar lake but booked with the firm at the sea front rather than through the holiday firm. This saved me 12 Euros per person and the lunch was excellent.
Montenegro is fast rushing into the modern world and the place is changing apace with new golf resorts planned at one of the nearby bays so go there soon or it may become a little like The less pleasant Spanish resorts with high rise hotels and tacky shops. I hope not but who knows.

Don't really know where to start - maybe with all those previous comments and reviews. How can anyone who ever visited a decent hotel, give high or even average review of hygiene, service, food???? All of the positive reviews are simply rubbish. If someone wants to be objective, highest rating of 5 can be only given to perfect hotels. To make things right, it would reauire every guest to give 1 star here.

Location, garden and a small part of the new building are really good. Other two buildings are old and smelly, Between these buildings, there is the biggest fourth building. The owner started a mega project, and deserted it. Looks like a ruin now.

The main problem is hygiene. Vacuum cleaning is terrible, spider webs everywhere, mold, dirt, stains. In rooms, corridors, terraces, in new fancy building also.

Service is terrible. Towels can be taken away when you don't want them to be taken away, but with no fresh towels left. Bathing gel also. The waiters,ć and cleaning personel rather complain, and talk dirty to guests, than doing their job.

The restaurant is small, you have to wait for 20 minutes to get your food. The choice of food is worse than a small 3 star hotel, for breakfast and dinner. Very basic and dissapointing.

The parking can take 50 cars, and there are 100 cars parked. How? Because they take evebodys car keys and play sokoban with your car the whole time.

And yet, they charge 200-250 EUR per night, and people give 5-star ratings.

Accommodation and living conditions offered vs. very high price (over PLN 600 / night - 2nd half of August) inadequate to the offered standard of a 4-star hotel.
Fungus in the bathroom, dirty walls in the room and a bad smell. Standard not having anything to do with 4 stars.
Hotel service - disrespectful.

Someone mention bar and cocktails in their review, lol there is no bar. Bar is closed! you can only order beer, vine, soft drinks in dirty restaurant tables. No activities for kids as kids play house is closed and looks abandon, kids can play with plastic table and chairs in big pile . There is pool which is surprising open but don't get overly exited as water is freezing cold , not many families in pool due ice cold water.
In dinner time there is 20 minute que between 7pm-8.15pm every night , turning breakfast some food finish real fast and it takes 20 minutes before they bring more out.

Someone said in reviews its renovated and modern, if you live in year 2000 then yes. Otherwise curtains all over hotel are ripped and 90s style, restaurant chairs are extremely dirty , table cloths get changed only on Mondays . In room there is water damage on ceiling, bathroom door don't shut, bath screen has full lenght crack in it, air-conditioning is old making noise like your in factory or just dont work.Everything is old in this hotel. There is 2 massive unfinished building next to hotel .
If you get placed in their new building 5 minutes walk away , don't expect cleanliness. Bathroom is disgusting stinks like previous visitors piss around toilet and in shower. Cleaning lady only changes bin and gives towels, shower is dirty , mirrors have not been cleaned , kids hand prints on tv and carpet has horrible stairs.
Hotel probably was 4* when they opened but its not anymore , barley 3* worth now.
Manager in reception has no idea how to communicate in politely manner with guest and should not work in hospitality with his attitude. One of the waiter
in restaurant is very moody and won't hide his frustration.

Best choice if you want to get rid off noise and jam, here is quiet relaxing family hotel suitable for kids, no clubs with loud music, if you want that go in the near town. It's not expensive and you get everything you need for real vacation. Food prepared by the hotel is great with many choices ( brunch ), rooms have working A/C which is must have here

Hi! The beach is about 150-200 meters from the hotel. However, it is not sandy. It is very fine pebble. And it is perfect for the kids. As it is easy to remove it from the clothing and body.
