We had a truly magical experience at Tariri Amazon Jungle Lodge. Germano ,Nixon,Fabiola and their family/team made us feel so welcome and shared their unique jungle home with us for 4 days. We did a lot of searching to find the perfect jungle lodge and feel like we made the best choice.
Booking is straightforward- you complete an enquiry on their website and Mabel got back to us within 24 hours with availability and pricing (3600 BRL for 2 people for 4days/3 nights, all meals and transfers inc). Once you pick your dates you pay 50% deposit by PayPal, the rest in cash on arrival in the jungle.
Transfers are tailored to your plans from manaus hotels or airport between 9.30-2pm and similar on your return journey. It takes 2.5hours to get to lodge. (2hrs in car,30 minutes by speedboat)
There are ten cabanas, each can sleep a family of four(one double, two singles). They are basic but clean, separate bathroom and a lovely separate chill out room with hammocks and insect screens instead of windows all around the room so you really feel immersed in the jungle. The rooms are serviced daily.
There is a lovely communal viewing deck with a couple of hammocks for enjoying the river and sunset.
Food was plentiful- three meals a day with a variety of salad, rice, potatoes, soup and a meat or fish dish, finished off with a tasty dessert. There is tea and coffee and freshly squeezed juice available with all meals. There is fresh filtered water available 24/7. Beers , soft drinks and caparrhinas are available for extra costs. (10,5 and 15 BRL respectively)
Activities were included in the price, were varied and changed each day. They included pirrhana fishing, visiting a local family, a jungle trek, canoeing on the river and a boat ride to enjoy the beautiful views. We were there in the wet season so most activities were in the water. There were optional extras for a small additional fee like pink dolphin encounter (I would highly recommend) and a night time motorised boat ride through the sunken forest.
The only negatives we have are:
information was not always forthcoming and we would have liked a bit more educational info on the birds/flora/fauna. Sometimes we felt our questions were lost in translation due to language barriers.
It would have been nice if there were some current books to read with information about the birds of the Amazon.
We have been to the Amazon before and paid a LOT more money for not a lot more comfort or service. This lodge may lack a few fancy cushions but it is incredibly good value for money and we would have no hesitation to come back and would recommend it to you.

We were a little nervous coming to Brazil with everything happening with COVID right now, but getting to Manaus was so much easier and relaxed than we thought it would be, the airports and planes are not crowded at all and I was never afraid that I would get COVID while I was on them.
Once we got to the Tariri Lodge we really got to relax. I could not imagine a better place to travel during the pandemic than the Tariri lodge. Everything is taken care of for you. The rooms are excellent and comfortable. The food is to die for, (seriously Fabiola is such an amazing and authentic cook), and the experiences in nature are so beautiful and fun. You get so enjoy all of this in the safety of a place that has only you, and 4-8 other people that are so spread out you wouldnt have to ever be close to them if you didnt want to. I seriously havent been so relaxed since the pandemic started. Its especially relaxing because you dont have cell service so you are away from all of the crazy news going on in the world, and you have time to heal a little from all of the stresses of life.
We absolutely loved everything about our stay at the Tariri lodge. The owners and workers are a single family and they do everything they can to make your stay comfortable and full of experiences that will last a lifetime. Fabiola, cooks breakfast lunch and dinner and each meal comes with a delicious fresh juice. It was so nice traveling to not have to worry about food. Every meal had so many delicious things, and great deserts.
We paid a little extra to do the night tour and the experience with dolphins, I would definitely recommend both as they are relatively cheap and the experiences were awesome. The dolphins were so cute and friendly and on the night tour we saw really cool alligators.
Our fourth day came way too quick and we were very sad to leave the Tariri lodge. If you have any doubts about traveling to Brazil during the pandemic, just do it! You will not regret it.

There is something magical about this place. The entire experience was awesome. The location is unbelievably perfect, the rooms are very cozy, and the owners, Fabiola and German, are the sweetest people you will ever meet. German will take you on adventures through the jungle or kayaking on the Acajatuba lake while telling you fascinating stories about life in the Amazon. And Fabiola will pamper you every single day with the most delicious homemade dishes, bread, desserts and 100% natural juices. Not to mention the hours spent with the friendliest monkeys, parrots and macaws in the world. Would go back a million times!! Beautiful family business run with lots of love, and you can tell right from day one.

After 2 hours of navigation (fast boat) along the Rio Negro river, crossed dolphin, local community and lost beach, this wonderfull charming eco lodge will be waiting for you.
Your hosts accompanied by their pets, monkeys, wild pig, parrots… will welcome you with a smile and a cocktail to discover your bungalow perched among the trees. Do not look for your telephone network, your TV or your minibar …. you are in the wrong place ...
During the day, they will offer you many activities such as walks in the middle of the mythical Amazonian forest, fishing and even piranha, visiting the Indian community with the possibility of attending shows and at nightfall go observe the Cayman with small boats accompanied by the sounds of the forest a unique experience.
All this before the evening meal lovingly prepared by the owner and certainly the best preparations, I have had the opportunity to taste in the Amazon. This experience will remain unforgettable for me

We had the most wonderful time in Tariri. Germano and Nixon made us feel part of the family and were very accommodating. The food was incredible, we even asked for the receipt of one of the dishes. I already miss the little monkeys Xuxa and frida, which made our staying even more special

We stayed with a tour group (10 people) 3 nights at this lodge. One is looked after by the extremely friendly team. The “hikes” are then joined by the dogs and a small wild boar (who was raised by the team and lives in the “jungle”). Great expertise of the team on fauna and flora. And of course, very great excursions were also organized and carried out. A real Recommendation.

We stayed here for a few days as part of a month long S.America trip. It was so calm and relaxing , the owners and staff couldn’t do enough for us. There was a nice balance of free time and activities as part of the daily activities. The monkeys and parrots that stayed around the lodge were a bonus !

WOW! This was honestly one of the greatest 4 days of a trip around Brazil. The staff were incredibly nice and it felt as if you were part of the family for the duration of the stay.
The days were split up into morning and night. Activity in the morning, chill for an hour then lunch. Activity in afternoon, chill for an hour then dinner. Works amazing where you get plenty of chill time to sleep in a hammock in the middle of the rainforest!
The monkeys make this experience even better. Spent hours each day interacting with the wild monkeys on site. They are incredibly loving and just love human interaction.
Thanks for having us guys.

Efficient transfers and it’s wonderful arriving on fine river Negro. The rooms are fine given you are in and jungle. But it lacked atmosphere during the 4 days we were there as just 2 other guests. I don’t eat meat and told them but no effort was made so for example they sprinkled meat over the soup. That said food was fine lots of rice and beans. No fruit sadly other than at breakfast but always sugar free fresh shakes. For me there was not enough to do and the outings were good but apart from jungle hike and fishing not that exciting.
Still going in the Amazon is a wonderful once in a lifetime experience

Once in the lodge, it is only cash. You don't have internet to access you paypal account for that matter. Also, for any extra activity, you pay in cash. Hence I suggest you draw sufficient cash in Manaus before stepping into the jungle.
