Only stayed one night but very pleasant - would have loved to stay longer! Large room, clean enough and everything worked fine. The deluxe rooms have a terrace that looks out over a few small rice paddies. Very helpful and friendly staff with good English (we also did the village tour). They will bring you tea or kopi tubruk any time. One caveat is that the building next door is under construction as of mid-January 2020, so you'll need earplugs to nap. Also note that Google Maps may not show the proper location; the homestay is in central Borobudur area next to the Alea coffee shop.
We love the place. First, the location. It's central, walking distance from the temple and the night street food place. This area is surrounded by coffees and restaurants. Second, the backyard with view on the paddy fields. 3 nice and new rooms at the back, less nosy, clean place. ++ Terrasse with mango trees and bonzais where Nouri welcomes you with a tea and a nice talk. We had such a relaxing stay.
We were very pleasantly surprised but the charming and welcoming hosts in Lotus 2. They were very helpful in advice about what we should do in Borobudur and anything we asked. Very accommodating and friendly hosts, offering to help at any time. Wonderful location with a five minute walk to the entrance to Borobudur temple (which is an absolute must-see). We were also able to rent motorbikes from the homestay. Unfortunately, the room we stayed it wasn’t quite up to the standard of the others. We had a chance to see the other rooms which seems perfectly clean and lovely. However, our en-suite had a constant smell of wee and was infested with ants. The flush on the toilet was broken and the floor was very sticky. Our AC did not work and the door to the room was broken. However, the site ad a whole was very nice and we had breakfast on the balcony/terrace, and as I said, the other rooms did not have the same problem as ours. Therefore, I would definitely stay again and highly recommend any of the other rooms, but the one we stayed in needed attending too!! When we entered, the host offered us to upgrade the room for a discounted price (which we declined as we did not know the problems with our rooms) this suggests that they did know about the problems and hopefully will fix them soon!…
We really liked this place. Unbeatable location, as it's about 5 minutes walk from Borobodur temple entrance, on the road to other nearby temples. Our room was very spacious, a little shabby but with charm that compensated for this. It had a wicker roof and from the shared back porch there were views across the neighbouring rice fields. (Mosquito nets are provided!). We had a portable electric fan (which worked OK, but not great) & a hot shower. Breakfast choices were standard but we were impressed by the quality, one of the tastiest breakfasts on this trip. Best of all are the staff, who were very helpful and kind, advising us on transport from Borobodur and places to enjoy views. If planning to rise at dawn to watch sunrise over Borobodur, I reckon this place makes a great choice. (Although if you hope for a lazy lie in, be warned that a nearby mosque kicks off at dawn, and not simply with the usual call to prayer: we were treated to a loud, non stop broadcast which lasted in excess of 2 hours on a Sunday morning)…
Stayed there for 3 nights and cannot say anything bad about this place. Just the opposite : the hosts are very nice and super friendly, great view at the rice field, rooms are spacious and clean. Hosts provided breakfast and tea / coffee which was delicious. They helped us organising a visit to the Borobudur Temple. I highly recommend staying there.
