Detailed Reviews
Spacious apartments with good (but basic) kitchens in a lovely spot close to the center of town. Front desk staff very helpful and eager to offer recommendations for Vila Nova’s many charms. Well worth a stay.

Stopped for a one night sleep at this boutique hotel which seemed more like an apartment as it had also a kitchenette included. Parking available opposite the hotel. I would prefer staying on ground level as the other level would require carrying a suitcase up one level. Room was clean, great ac and wifi, and cannot complain. Breakfast was not available but plenty of choices outside.

We never stayed at this place. And we will never do it in the future, nor suggest anyone booking their apartments.
We paid everything in advance in July, we were supposed to arrive in Milfontes on 7th of August. The day before in Belem, Lisbon, someone stole everything from us, luggages, bags and some money. We had been through a nightmare from that point, as usual when you live these kind of situations. We had to find the tourist police station (not that easy) and made a complain for the baggage theft, advising our car rental company about the incident, buying the bare minimum you need to live (underpants, you know…) Time has flown away in a moment, running through Lisbon in a bad, anxious mood.
Staying in Lisbon was not an option. It would be expensive or worst impossible due to the fact that in high season EVERY hotels was full reserved.
We only hoped to reach Milfontes in two/three hours to have some rest at Patios da Vila, collect ideas and decide what to do next. At our previous hotel they kindly made us using their wi-fi to load a travel map on my smartphone, necessary to arrive to our destination in Milfontes (since, of course, they stole our GPS navigator too) and the receptionist was so helpful and kind to make a call to Patios da Vila on our behalf, to be able to explain to them everything that happened to us in Portuguese, avoiding misunderstanding and further delays and problems .She asked if they could wait for us, until you know, midnight, not that late. It was already 8/9 o’clock.. we were tired, demoralized and humiliated. They said “NO, we close at 11 o’clock, no exceptions”, that, for me, it is the same as saying: This is your own business, not my problem, sort it out for yourself!. If you ever find yourself in a situation like this you can understand how we felt. We already paid everything in advance without flinching, we were not asking for something impossible, just to meet our needs in a bad and so unpleasant situation. You know, renting apartments or manage an hotel does not only mean gain money (in their case, grab money), but also (and more important) to welcome your customs and make them feel at home as much as you can. We felt alone and shelterless. Draw your own conclusions.

Made a reservation for Jun/2009 but apparently the manager Mr. Hugo Palma, book us for Jul/2009. We ask him to give us an alternative but he only replied that he had no rooms available and it was not his problem. He didn’t want to return our 50% down payment and we had to call the local police to solve the situation. Terrible way to start the vacations.

Shady walkways, flower filled courtyards, comfortable, clean, well appointed apartments and helpful staff. The area is quiet but just a few minutes walk from the beach and the pretty little town, and there is a very pleasant bar/cafe next door.

I felt quite disappointed when I got to the apartment, It didn't match the expectations at all. The pictures on the site have beenmanipulated, making it look much warmer. I wouldn't call it 'boutique apartments', it's very poorly furnished and decorated. I didn't find it comfortable or cosy. It's too expensive for what you get in return. :(

Lovely little hotel, very close to the beaches and away from the busiest areas. Good service and large patios with table and chairs (and sun loungers).
I would recommend a bit more screening between the patios, but otherwise, lovely.

The accommodation is located near the city beaches and only a few hundred meter away from the very center of V.N. de Milfontes. Once you have arrived you don't need a car any more, but you can use one if you like to visit some other beaches, what I do strongly recommend. The apartements are quite spacious, upstairs with nice balconies. I always love to sit there in the evening-shadow and read some books. The kitchens are well equipped with cooking facilities and dishes etc., a big enough fridge keeps the necessary stuff cool. If you are not the cooking type you'll find enough restaurants in easy walking distance. I like to eat typically portuguese lunches in the "restaurant" two houses to the right from Patios da Vila. Ask for the dish of the day.
Despite it's family-friendliness Patios da Vila is a quiet place, the staff is more than kind and the reception is multilingual, even german-speaking. The owner, Hugo, is a really nice guy. In the recent 12 years I staid there almost 10 times, with my wife or alone. I sincerely hope that this year wasn't the last time.
