Our stay at the Kefalonia Grand Hotel was simply sensational and everything we wanted it to be and more! Everything here is perfect- from the beautiful, spotless rooms, welcome wine, location on the harbor to the absolutely scrumptious breakfast. However what made our trip stand out the most was the amazing staff members who should be commended for their incredibly attentive and friendly service. Marika and Martha and the girls on the front desk are so helpful, and we particularly loved our chats with Gerti, Joanna and Pavlos and Niko in the restaurant who we’re always smiling and offering 10/10 service. We felt as though we were constantly amongst friends and family here. We loved our stay so much that we changed our plans after touring the island so we could end our honeymoon at the hotel. Thank you so very much for the perfect stay. Although a long way from home I can absolutely guarantee that we will be coming back to stay at this hotel in the future, and will recommend it gladly to anyone considering traveling to Argostoli!…
Extremely disappointing experience Although it’s not all bad here, it’s definitely not worthy of 4 stars and I couldn’t recommend it based on our recent visit. On arrival our superior sea view room was unavailable and we were put in what can only be described as a shoe box with air conditioning from the 1970s and views of the hotel’s solar power panels. We had to wait until lunchtime the following day for our actual room to be ready. No apologies from the receptionist, actually extremely rude behaviour.and we had to battle for a refund between the price of the room booked and the one we were put in. We discovered this had happened to two other couples staying there too. Our actual room was better but definitely not 4 stars, very basic in terms of amenities, no mini bar, no kettle or coffee machine, no complementary water after the first day. The website definitely oversells, the rooms are small and although the sea view is lovely the hotel is on a busy, noisy main road.…
Fabulous location. My husband and I would like to congratulate this hotel for the excellent service it provides. Starting with the beautiful girls at reception Marika, Martha and Kassandra. They gave us loads of information about the island. The breakfast staff Vagelis and Pablos. Our coffee cups were never empty. The evening restaurant staff, the ever smiling Ioanna also Gerti and of course the man at the bar,Nikos. The restaurant meals were of high standard and costs were comparable to the rest of the island. We also want to thank to the cleaning staff. Clean towels and clean room daily and in keeping with covid standards. Beautiful island Thank you Mr and Mrs Taylor
One of the best stays we’ve ever had! The hotel is exceptional, as are the staff. The girls behind reception we’re extremely helpful & went above & beyond to prepare our room with flowers & balloons as a surprise for my girlfriends birthday! The food for breakfast is an incredible selection with a buffet & another breakfast menu available, the restaurant food was also delicious. All the staff behind the bar & in & around the eatery were great, chatty, helpful & really efficient, could not fault them. The cleaners made sure the room was refreshed everyday to a great standard too. The rooms are spacious & the side balcony has a nice view of the harbour. It’s quiet at night, we certainly couldn’t hear anything from the nearby roads in a very busy part of the town. The location is perfect, an abundance of restaurants & bars nearby, boat tours on the doorstep & a chance to see the sea turtles in the harbour every morning & night! A matter of when we’ll be back not if!…
We only stayed for three nights but the staff made us feel right at home from the very beginning and are a credit to the hotel, especially the reception staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beautiful hotel and when I lost my phone, the staff couldn't do more to help me find it. We will definitely be back.
In June I went for 1 week to this fabulous hotel. The location is perfect! In the center of Argostoli, close to all shops and to the ferry boat to Lixouri. The hotel itself is very modern and the staff is amazing, especially Marika who always greeted us with a smile and gave us a lot of nice recommendations about the area!! Would definitely come back here!
This is a wonderful hotel in an exceptional location. The property is beautiful and well maintained, and the location is incredible--right on the harbor in Argostolion. The rooms are clean, airy and filled with sunlight. The lobby and bar are a perfect place to have a drink, and watch both travelers and locals go by. Food and drink were excellent. The staff was kind and extremely helpful. We were particularly appreciative of Marika and Martha, and their help with destinations and reservations. A relaxing oasis in a memorable spot.
Our stay was wonderful!! The hotel is located along the water (bay) where the sailboats dock and further down (10 minute walk) from where cruise ship parks for the day. The entire staff was great, friendly and helpful for every need, to include Martha that provided us a list of local restaurants try. Food: Breakfast was included in room which was combination of menu selection and buffets. We ate dinner one night at hotel. I had a pasta dish with salmon, which was prepared well. My son had a lamb dish which was very good. We had an appetizer which was a Moussaka croquette type and chocolate cake dessert. All the food breakfast and dinner tasted fresh and prepared well. Room: Our room was adequate size for two people and about four pieces of luggage. I say that for any travelers that have never been outside the USA, original hotels in many other countries can be similar design and size of their residential type apartment buildings. Rooms might be half or two-thirds size of a major chain modern day hotel. The room had air conditioning, with stand up shower, closet and queen/double size bed. The balcony large enough for 2 people to sit in chairs with a small outdoor table. Noise levels were as expected of most hotels I stay at globally and opinions can very among individuals. If you sleep with balcony doors open partially or full, the typical street noise will be heard, fortunately the town quiets down about 9:30 PM until about 7:00 AM for a good nights sleep for average to sound sleeper with balcony doors open. Within the hotel the floors and hallways are not carpeted, someone walking with certain types of shoes or loud conversations may be heard. As with many hotels I have stayed those type of noises are common in any country, city etc. Closing the balcony doors will eliminate or reduce the street noise significantly. Services: We arranged a rental car with front desk, ordered an automatic transmission which cost more in Europe. The car was delivered to hotel despite the rental office was a short walk from hotel. We had laundry done by hotel, same day service was available. A rental car with manual transmission will cost about 25 Euros a day plus insurance. Gas is a about 2.2 Euros per liter, or $7-8.00 a gallon. We used about a quarter tank 25 Euros of gas over 2 days with about 90 minutes of drive time per day. Area of hotel: Business district with many shops and many types restaurants within walking distance. Located along the bay with view of water, sailboats and hills on other side of bay. Driving time to beaches such as Antisamos Beach is about 30-45 minutes. Along the way to beach there are many photographic views and small villages to see. If I am not mistaken the island has a history with World War 2 battle among the Italians and Germans. To explore the entire island I would suggest a minimum of one week stay. Taxi to and from airport is about 25 Euros. Access to island either ferry from mainland Greece, airline flight one per day from Athens on Agean/Olympic airlines or direct flights from Britain. Below are some photos to include area of hotel, Antisamos Beach and view from our balcony.…
We stayed at the Kefalonia Grand this week for 5 nights and it was the first trip without our daughter. We absolutely loved it! The hotel is beautiful with lovely decor throughout. The standard rooms are small but you don't need anything bigger because the area is wonderful you want to be out and about. The staff are so helpful and caring, especially the reception staff and waiters. I strongly recommend renting a car if you come here as the island is stunning and the best beaches are at the top, although there is a nice sandy beach, Costa Costa which is 5 mins in a cab costing 7euros. We rented a car directly through the hotel for 65euros a day. The little touches they added made our stay really enjoyable. Things like our complimentary welcome cocktail, and on my birthday they left me a card and a bottle of wine. The breakfast has a great choice and the food is high quality. I strongly recommend eating lunch here one day also. The only thing this hotel could improve is having a room available for guests to freshen up and shower before travelling home. We will absolutely be back. Thank you for a great holiday…
What an amazing hotel and beautiful island. Perfect location for restaurants and bars. Great for the beach and site seeing. Breakfast was lovely. The staff were really helpful especially the bar staff and Martha on reception. They helped us out with our itinerary, car hire and much more. Definitely worth a visit. The only downside is no where to get changed whilst waiting to go to the airport. A small shower room would have been great! Overall, loved every minute.
