THE GOOD Beautiful old farmhouse Very nice location 20 minutes away away from the nearest town. Very nice rooms The quality of the food although very repetitive The restaurant service was very good The mountain walks Very friendly staff Very tranquil and relaxing pool and terrace Rooms cleaned really well and daily Very nice atmosphere THE BAD Missed evening meal as arrived too late from our flight , no food offered and charged £10 for 2 really poor hot chocolates Very difficult to get a coffee before 730am unless you insist Even when offered several drinks by your host after meals it a real surprise to see them all on our bill at the end of the week Bikes not maintained 5 bikes but 3 with flat rear tyres THE JACUZZI DOES NOT WORK AND THEY KEEP MAKING EXCUSES when talking to guests who were leaving after 5 days they had all complained so i insisted on a room upgrade which they reluctantly agreed to but it did not make up for the jacuzzi as we were looking forward to this and to be told tomorrow for 4 days when we knew it hadn't worked for at least 2 weeks is a con to entice you to book We stayed 21st to 28th oct never worked ounce 7 Days at the hotel never offered a cannoli in Sicily this is very odd Very Bad coffee from the machines, Italians would never drink this in a million years My jacuzzi complaint was dealt with in a very unprofessional manner If you can forgive all the above then overall its very nice

Excellent place. Right in the middle of nowhere but easy to reach, it’s quiet and comfortable. The owner took us around to visit the place and then to the room. Good swimming pool where you can have a drink. The 4 courses dinner was very good for an honest price. Breakfast was very good as well. The only bad point, the jacuzzi wasn’t working, after telling the staff about it they seem not to care too much and didn’t solve the problem out. However, recommended.

Our group spent one night here. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Our room, 301, was small but nice. The shower in the bathroom was the biggest we’ve had in all our previous hotel stays. Food was delicious both at dinner and at breakfast. Would have liked coffee available earlier.

A fantastic hotel ! Located in beautiful countryside. Great accommodation and fantastic food. The staff were amazing! Very quiet and suitable for those who want a break from a busy lifestyle. I think it is mostly suitable for adults - we were two couples who enjoyed the peace and tranquility on offer. I would definitely recommend car hire for this area - without it you would be a little stuck. Roads were great - but the hotel is found at the end of a dusty track so prepared! Definitely eat in - not a lot close by at all for meals. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would return in a heart beat!

We have just returned from staying at this amazing hotel, in the most beautiful location, with the most helpful and friendly staff. Food amazing, my husband has a restricted diet and they made sure he was catered for every night. We got ourselves into a tricky situation, our car got a puncture and we were stuck in the middle of nowhere. Centaura, the car hire company left us there for five hours, but when the hotel realised we were stuck, two of the chefs came on quad bikes to rescue us. The hotel organised a new tyre, retrieved the car and made sure everything was sorted, how many hotels offer that service? It’s a family run hotel and that is evident in everything they do. We would love to return. Yes it is in a very remote location, but that made it even more special. If you want a holiday away from everything in Sicily, the most beautiful country this is the place for you

This is not a 4-star property. The bathroom was so cramped that I could only use the commode side-saddle. The hotel manager (Philippe Golino) is rude and misogynistic. The walls are so think that I could hear the conversation of the people next door, who were speaking in normal tones. The dining room service is great, but the effort to get here is not worth it.

Absolutely outstanding venue and service. We could not fault it. A gem in the middle of beautiful Sicily. The food is exceptional, the location in the national park just adds to the ambiance. The accommodation was spotless and the rooms were expertly serviced every day. We stayed for ten days and held my daughters wedding there, with guests and family from around the world. All of whom were delighted.

This hotel/ function centre is well off the beaten track located in a wine growing area. They seem to grow there own vegetables and have a large planting of prickly pear cacti. It is in a very picturesque setting. The room was excellent, large and very clean. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Wi-fi was good. The shower/bathroom was large and very good

During the last two weeks of August 2022 we stayed at this beautiful place and had a really nice time! We had a room on the elevated slope of the hill where the hotel is situated, not at the main complex, these rooms have a jacuzzi (6 ps) on a terrace where you'll find several sunbeds and patio structures that give you shadow when needed during the most hot hours of the day. The room itself was very nice with a nice and spacious bathroom, the room is airconditioned, but ours didn't work as well as it should and was a bit noisy. The room has a small balcony overlooking the valley and a view al the way to the coast of Gela. The restaurant is very good and they serve a great breakfast with lots to choose from and plenty variation. You can have a light lunch when you desire between 13.00 - 13.30, diner starts at 19.30 and is very nice every evening they serve something different. You always get: Antipasti - Primi piatti - Secondo piatti and Dolci and it al tastes really great!! The entire resort breaths tranquility and hospitality, the staff is very friendly and especially the breakfast team is the best ;-) Mille grazie per i servizi When you're doing a roadtrip in Sicily I would recommend a few days of stopover at the Vecchia Masseria for recharging your batteries.

We liked the look of this place from the photos and previous reviews. We weren’t disappointed on arrival. If anything the place looks more beautiful in real life. Its quaint, traditional, rustic and romantic charm compliments its tranquility. Set in attractive hill side woodland it came to us as the perfect antidote after visiting busy and not quite so attractive Palermo. We enjoyed our three nights here. We relaxed poolside for one day and did Agrigento valley of the temples and Turkish Steps beach. Another day we went to the Sicilian Outlet Shopping which was good and only a 50 min ride. The location here is a little far from some of the major sights we wanted to see but was with the travelling. We ate the fixed menu dinner twice and was good four courses of fine local cuisine cooked to perfection. The middle day we had to eat out as we were out for the whole day. The fixed menus differed each day and had fabulous stater dishes, then a great pasta dish followed by the main dish. Then sweet to finish. The food was tasty and will remain in my top four meals ever and for 28 euros per head for the set menu was excellent value. I did not know what was coming each course and had I’m going to eat everything put in front of me head on and I’m glad I did as each taste experience was really good. There were quite a few people staying at the same time as us but it never felt busy or rushed. The staff were very pleasant, helpful and friendly. They also were fluent in French German and English and were patient with our beginner level Italian. Venessa deserves a special mention who assisted with our booking. All of the staff were absolutely great in a kind and natural way. Grazie a voi ! Well done to the hosts as they have put a lot of effort in and I think it will reward them. We would definitely return if we travel this way again. A la prossima volta. The Farmington Stannard’s
