The property is extremely centric and it has a beautiful view over the city and valley (especially the rooms at the second floor). The owner is extremely helpful, nice, friendly and supportive. Full of resources and flexible. My room was quiet and comfortable, I had a great night sleep. The historical building has a lot of potential, the breakfast room is in a very nice hall, it needs some renovations to be bright and shiny again.

This is a really comfortable and friendly B&B. Our room was not big but it was quiet and well situated to walk to all the areas of town. Close to the Scalinata di Santa Maria del Monte and just around the corner from the park.Rooms on the second floor and no elevator, but the friendly manager took our luggage to our room.Breakfast was provided, and it was enough, cold meat, fruit and fruit juice, freshly baked croissants with jams, and very good filter coffee. Will recommend this to other travellers.

The room was big but the matress was old, you could feel the springs, the water pressure and temperature was changing and there was no water sometimes or the water would become cold suddenly. The room was quiet from the outside noise, but you could hear even a whisper from the rooms next door. Breakfast was ok, but not the best. The staff was friendly though and the location was good.

We enjoyed the Gualtiero so much in 2010 that we didn’t hesitate to stay there again in 2012. Fabulous location, right across the piazza from Church of San Francesco d’Assisi and not far from the famous tile-faced Scalinata di Santa Maria del Monte. Parking available right in front of the B&B. The manager was quite helpful and provided several informative booklets about places to go and things to do in Caltagirone. Rooms are on the second and third floors, on smaller side, but clean. No elevator. Breakfast is not provided on site; you are given a ticket that enables you to get a cup of coffee/espresso/cappuccino and a pastry at a café near the bottom of the Scalinata di Santa Maria del Monte. We very much enjoyed our stay and enjoyed watching the sparrows in the piazza from the balcony in our room.

Have nothing much bad to say about the room EXCEPT for catching the manager looking through our keyhole when we were in our room. He ran off, then came back and apologised that it was a simple misunderstanding, he was just checking the locks. Sure. I swore I was going to follow it up, so feel compelled to warn other travellers, put something over the keyhole! I guess this should be done anyway, I've caught another person doing it to a guest in Fiji once before. Good location, reasonable priced room, basic, fine. Stairs are great in the town, the town itself is Sicilian minus the overt tourism you'll find in other places.
