I wouldn't recommend staying here, its not a 4 star as things don't work properly. Management is vey poor and after promising a part refund verbally (manager on departure) & Owner in writing, he simply didn't do it and apparently didn't care! Note - all the good reviews are pre 2020 after this they go downhill. Beware!!!!! I booked a special treat including spa bath, slippers, robes the works weeks in advance, only to be told on arrival that the spa bath and the door lock wasn't working & no robes or slippers. Long story, but the management promised a part refund. I paid 130Euros and requested a 50 Euro refund, it never materialised! All that glitters is not always gold. As per other recent reviews go elsewhere. The Owner does not deserve your custom - not a holiday experience at all. NOT AS ADVERTISED AS NOT MUCH WORKS.…
Poor management - unable to resolve issues. Air con wasn't working, we were just told to wait an hour or so until it was....(in 29 degree heat) and then the advertised jetted bathtub didnt work either, and when we wanted to use the shower, the water was cold. Both times i had to call for help as there was no reception staff in the building, and we had to end up fixing the hot water issue ourselves. Not something i imagine i'd be doing in a '4 star' hotel. Not luxury at all.
I've booked a room in this hotel directly on its web-site. At the time of arrival my credit card was charged twice (not blocked but exactly charged). The staff at reception said that they knew nothing about accounting. I have sent a lot of e-mails asking to return the unreasonable charged money, all of them were simply ignored. Finally I had to make a complaint to my bank and after some disputes the bank has annulled the false withdrawal. I have never received any response from the hotel. On arrival we had problems with finding the hotel, and there was impossible to contact the hotel, nobody answered our calls.
I have pondered whether I’d write this review, but it needs to be done and people need to be warned. Just to give a little context I booked a 14-day trip to Fiskardo and my choice of hotel the Fiscardo Bay Hotel was not available for the entire time. I booked and pre-paid a week at Fiscardo Bay Hotel and another week at Fiscardonna Luxury Suites. Half way to my stay at Fiscardo Bay Hotel Cyclone Ianus created havoc on the little town and many businesses were destroyed. Mind you Fiscardonna Luxury Suites wasn’t affected I was there and I saw it. We were all without power and water. A day before I was supposed to check-in at Fiscardonna Luxury Suites I got a call saying that they did not have power or water but I said it was okay because I was already staying in a hotel that did not have power or water but the prospect of both coming back was imminent. Sophia the woman I spoke had said they needed to cancel my reservation and gave me some reasons that the hotel had water damage. I was there earlier in the days and I spoke with the manager that confirmed they had no water damage. She continued to argue they needed to cancel my reservation because of water damage. 1. they gave me no option to relocate me to another hotel since I had already prepaid the reservation. 2. She said she’d refund me but the refund wouldn’t hit my account until 10-15 business days and as I write this I still haven’t received it. 3. I was on my own in a different country without a roof over my head starting the following day. I spoke with her and all she offered was to cancel my reservation and refund. 4. Had to pay another 7-day reservation at another hotel to make sure my vacation was not cut short. Luckily I could afford that what if it was someone who couldn't. Please be aware because these guys will leave you hanging at the drop of a hat.…
My husband and I had 3 nights in the immaculate, modern, large apartment with the balcony. Josef and his lovely mother Vassos and they made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The balcony is a huge asset to this room - we especially enjoyed our evenings sitting there with our wine and nibbles, watching the world go by. A delicious breakfast is taken in a café by the water's edge - a lovely relaxing start to the day. Overall, I feel that this property is best suited for adult guests and I would love to return again.
Myself and wife visited Fiscardo and stayed at the Fiscardonna “Maria Athena” suite for 11 nights. On arrival we were made to feel very welcome by Josef the Manager and his lovely mum. The apartment was very clean, lovely size with a fantastic bathroom. Josef was very helpful with suggestions of places to go and helping with our luggage on arrival and departure. A previous review mentions the number noise, at it is next door to a bar, however if you immerse yourself in the holiday mode and enjoy the atmosphere, this was not a problem. Me and my wife loved our stay, with the location a particular plus, and also the warmth and friendliness of Josef and his mum. I would recommend a visit, and would definitely go back!!
Location - tick Room - tick Host - tick Amenities - tick We would definitely recommend Fiscardona for couples or families. We stayed as a family of 4 [children 8 and 6] and loved it. We had a room that faces the street and has a loft with 3 beds for the children to sleep in. Our room was complemented with a little balcony that overlooked all the action down in the street - perfect for a few night caps, watching the world go by as the children slept. Our hosts, Joseph and his mum, were great and very helpful and the room was very well appointed. Shower leaked a little, but nothing to worry about. I noted another review complaining about the noise and, yes, there was some. There is an English 'pub' next door and the patrons can get a bit rowdy, but when you are in holiday mode, with very little to do the next day, it isn't really an issue and, if it is, I suggest requesting a room at the rear, where you will get less interruptions. It certainly did not spoil our time in Fiscardo and we would be back, and in the same room, in a heartbeat - and cannot wait, the location is primo!…
We had big expectations looking at reviews and pictures but a few details ruined our stay and i would never recommend this hotel. I have been in hundreds of hotels and was never treated like here. First, you need to know there is no way to access the hotel by car. You need to find a parking place in a closeby area and walk to the hotel, including a looong staircase to do down to it, all that with luggage, kids, hot, whatever. Second, we booked the suite with spa bathroom and it was impossible to sleep there. It is on 1st floor of the house with 4 windows to he street, where there is one of the 2 bars in town. There is live music on Thursdays and every day party and noise from people drinking literally at your window until 2 am every day. Due to this, 2 of the 3 nights i needed to stay in a smaller room at the back of the building. The management of the hotel is terrible, after several phone calls with them, based in Argostoli, they didnt give any compensation nor apology, they didn't care. The manager just wanted me to disappear and not say anything more. After a mediation with booking.com, he refused any compensation was due to me and accused me of trying ti get advantage of all the problems we experienced with my 2 year old daughter. Just not acceptable and so poor.…
Room was very nice, staff very helpful. The property is well situated in the heart of the village. The only downside for us there was no balcony for our room, or outside terrace. If staying again would request bigger room for a little more comfort. Altogether though the accomodation added to a wonderful stay in Fiscardo.
Having spent 4 days at the beginning of June staying in Fiscardonna, situated in the lovely harbour village of Fiscardo, we would highly recommend this house as an ideal place to stay. The house was renovated in the last few years and our apartment was spotlessly clean and comfortable with all mod cons. Duty Manager (Joseph) is very attentive to every need. Breakfast is at a nearby cafe situated in the picturesque harbour a short walk from the apartment. The house itself is located very close to the harbour, which has a large selection of excellent restaurants and bars, but far enough away for peace and quiet after your night out. Finn & Mary- London
