Great view across harbor to waterfront from room and private balcony. Clothes line on balcony. Comfortable room with night stands and receptacles by the stands. Desk with drawers and comfortable chair. Large cold refrigerator with freezer for making ice cubes. Power strip on top of refrigerator for extra receptacles. Nice bathroom with shelf for products. Reliable Wi-Fi at 7+ Mbps. Such a wonderful, friendly and helpful owner. He carried our luggage up to the second floor. He was always cheerful every time we asked him things about the hotel and town. Good value. There is a short walk to the old Venetian lighthouse and on the way there are some rocks to swim from in sparkling clear water. Great fun watching ferries come and go and sailboats coming in at the evening to moor all around the harbor. We did not take breakfast there since it started at 9:00AM which was too late for us. We walked 5 minutes into town to cafes open at 8:00AM. Nor did we eat at the restaurant since it was closed between 3:00PM and 7:00PM when we like to eat. The menu did look good at reasonable prices. I would not stay any place else when we return to Fiscardo.…
We stayed at Nicolas Rooms for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. It is a wonderfully traditional Greek hotel and taverna, overlooking the beautiful fiskardo harbour, yet tucked away at the end so a more relaxing experience than some of the other restaurants. Alex, who runs it, was super friendly and always interested in how our days had been. Nicolas is also wonderful and still so enthusiastic and passionate after all these years! The food is outstanding, real Greek home-cooking amongst a plethora of (sometimes expensive) seafood restaurants all along the harbour. This place is a more humble and traditional offering than many others nearby but we fell in love with it for that reason, a must visit.
This was our second visit to Nicolas Rooms and it didn't disappoint. A truly authentic family run hotel that is spotless and well maintained. We had breakfast here and dinner twice and the food is great. Location is brilliant overlooking the bay just on the edge of the hustle and bustle of Fiscardo. We'll be back.
I sink my teeth into a perfectly ripe Kefalonian nectarine and reflect on our time in this heavenly isle. At Nicolas rooms, our pad is everything they said it would be but the view from the terrace is so much more than that. The early morning vista of the port of Fiskardo, floats before you, water glistening, tourist boats chugging in and due to the slightly elevated position the slight breeze dances across your cheeks. Being in the roof space, the air conditioning is very welcome, the servicing of the room executed with outstanding efficiency and attention to detail, meaning the room is immaculate even after our trailing the beach through it on a daily basis. The relaxed and welcoming approach to hospitality that Nicolas, Alex and Christina bring is joyful, the food reflective of the very best a Taverna can offer. Traditional dishes, abundant and delicious. My nectarine has gone now, the syrupy juice has slipped away but our memories of our time here will remain until next we visit as we won’t hesitate to return not only to Kefalonia but to Nicolas rooms.…
The welcome at Nicolas Rooms is as warm as the Cephalonian summer. We found the room to be exactly as it was advertised with the wonderful terrace and everything we could have needed to make our stay comfortable. The Taverna sits on the opposite side of the bay to the main town, meaning you experience a wonderful tranquility and the breeze that fans you in the slightly elevated spot. While in only a couple of minutes you can be amidst the buzz of Fiskardo, it’s a great place to watch the activity of visiting boats. We loved the Taverna, the food is fresh and wholesome with all the classics, served by such a friendly team led by Nick and Alex. We are sad to be leaving and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
