This is our second time visiting this location, and unlike the most recent negative reviews, we were aware that the location was out of the way, requires a car, and requires you to be a little self-sufficient to really enjoy your stay and maximize the experience. That means the accommodations are European in style and size, you have to go to the grocery store if you want to cooks meals, and you have to do your research to really enjoy the resort - it’s a great place to base your explorations from. It is convenient to mass transit (Pontadera) which can whisk you to Milano, Roma, or Firenze. You will experience a more realistic Italian experience staying here than the typical HGVC property, but that is part of the charm. We lived in Italy for three years a long time ago, and this location allows you to experience “la vera Italia”, as opposed to a plastic resort experience where someone is waiting on your every need and you go home thinking you know something about where you just visited, as evidenced by a couple of the recent posters, who are apparently clueless. And for the one poster who complained that the location “ . . . is not even in Tuscany, it’s in Pisa . . . “, learn how to read a map - Pisa is in Tuscany . . .

We just recently stayed five days in the 3 bedroom unit at the property and it was absolutely wonderful. The views from the third floor bedroom and the pool area were beautiful. The rooms were all very spacious and the unit had all the appliances and needs we could ask for. Ricardo at the front desk greeted us upon our arrival and took care of any needs we had while we were there. The pool area is beautiful and relaxing and we enjoyed it each evening after exploring the area during the day. There is a wonderful local woman that brings baked goods for sale each morning at 9am. Up the road there are two wineries that you can do tastings by appointment and the front desk can book it for you. These are not your average tasting. The closest is which is less than a five minute walk is Podere La Chiesa. We absolutely loved this place. The wine maker and his wife spent three hours with giving us a tour and tasting. They served us five courses of food and we tasted seven wines. All of this for $25 per person! La Spinetta is just a bit further up the road (also an easy walk) and offers a tasting with lunch for $35 a person. We spent about two hours there tasting and enjoying the wine and food. The area has an array of small towns to drive to and visit. We had dinner in Peccioli which you can see from the resort. There is parking underneath the city and elevators to take you to the top of the city. We also visited Volterra which is about a 35 minute drive and an amazing walled city that you can walk around to see Roman ruins and many historic buildings. There are plenty of restaurants there to grab a great meal. If we had more time we would have explored a few other towns in the area. The grocery store is a short drive down the road to pick up supplies for your stay. In short we loved it here and highly recommend it!

2-12-23. Our Hotel had Great Staff,

Elizabeth.
Sara.
Ricardo.
Rafael.
Nader.
Ludovico.

They were very knowledgeable of the surrounding areas of Tuscany, how the transportation system’s worked, the train systems, train time schedules, tickets, Wineries and Tours, Supermarkets & Restaurants etc. There is no UBER or Taxis available, so always reserve a rental car before arriving to be picked up Pisa airport.

We were 4 Guests from Goodyear AZ & Calimesa CA. USA.

When we arrived Feb12, Sunday, Mgr’s Elizabeth & Ricardo checked us in to our 2 BR villa. After a little bit of time came to find out the units heating system was not working. I called the front desk and Elizabeth and Ricardo quickly helped us find another villa for the night and a few more nights as it was Sunday night and could not get any technicians out till Monday or Tuesday of the following week. Then on Tuesday night Rafael let us know that our original 2 BR villa’s heating system was repaired and ready for us and if we would like to move Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. We decided to move back Tuesday night. This way in the morning housekeeping staff will be able to get the other villa cleaned up for any other guests.

The weather was great a little chilly in the morning, nothing a nice jacket cannot fix. No rain at all which was awesome. Don’t forget to have some euros in the morning for the bakery truck that comes between 9 and 9.30 am - cash only.

Enjoy

Great location but I suggest you have a car. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Other than some snack food in vending machines there is no food on site, There is No shuttle, Uber and taxis must come from 20 mins away (min charge 40€). No food delivery was available during our visit. I suggest if you are being dropped off by a driver, stop at a supermarket and get supplies prior to your arrival.

Great restaurant (Da Carlo) is about 30 mins walk away. Unfortunately a few sections of the walk are on a busy highway.

We had a great lower room that offered tranquility but unfortunately we were frequently disturbed by neighbours above dragging chairs across the floor. Suggest hotel look at putting some sort of rubber feet on the chairs to help reduce the noise.

A local person brings great baked goods, such as croissants and pizza at 9 am. This helps if you weren’t prepared to have your own food for breakfast.

If you wish to use the centralized laundry machines, you should also have you own 1€ coins(no other coins were accepted (4€ -wash and 3€ per dryer session) No change was available for our trip at front desk or there was no change machines so we had to wait until we could get change offsite. FYI, our unit did have a washing/dryer combo under the oven but it never really seemed to dry the clothes.

There is a beautiful pool with a view but is unheated. They are spacious units with main floor patios and upper balconies.

Lovely picturesque location a short drive from Pisa. Makes a great base for exploration in the surrounding areas with great choices for restaurants and eateries in the locale. Concierge really helpful about getting reservations and assisting with local information. Definitely need a car as no uber/taxi service. Very limited items to purchase on site so worth a grocery stop on the way especially if arriving late. Baker comes to the property every morning (except Sunday) which is really useful for freshly baked goods and very reasonable prices.
A little bit of wear and tear noticeable in units - ours was missing living room shutters so privacy a bit of an issue in the evenings.
Overall a lovely stay.

Spending 7 nights at the Hilton Resort in Tuscany was a worthwhile getaway. The resort is located on a hillside overlooking vineyards, surrounded by serenity and peaceful birds sanctuary. 30-min drive to Pisa, local eateries and Medieval villages, 1hr to 1.5 hr scenic drive to Livorno, Cinque Terre and Florence.
The hotel is kept clean and tidy, guest services representatives were courteous and pleasant, rooms and kitchen are kept updated with taste of elegance.
I would come back again.

The staff is not only welcoming but there to help you make your vacation memorable. It was nothing short of amazing. So very helpful you never felt out of sorts being in a foreign country ALWAYS willing to help you navigate thru thing you were uncertain of ie; buses and taxis etc . They will even call your taxis to and from according to your needs, and order your pizza from the local pizzeria and it’s delivered hot and delicious.

Before you travel to Italy, you need to understand what you are getting yourself into. You need to understand a little history and culture or you will not get the most out of your trip. These villas are set away from the towns/cities because the culture does not favor spending time in a noisy area while vacationing. Towns are small and centralized around the church and piaza (square). Most towns are built to support the industry around the area. Vacations are meant to be slow, quite and remote.
Quarters are always small and not like western culture. Because many of the buildings are old, modern pluming and comfort amenities were added later. Therefore, expect strange layouts and appliances in the kitchen areas. (When you buy/rent a house or flat, the kitchens are completely empty. The tenants install all the cabinets, counters, appliances and cooking accoutrement and take them with them when they leave).
Transportation is generally via public train/bus or rental car. Don't expect to call a taxi or an Uber.
Remember that Italians have a Riposa (rest time) in the middle of the day, so you may find dining for lunch difficult. Restaurants open around 7 and dinners are long and late. I recommend shopping the local town market for breads, fruits, wine, pizza, panini and antipasta to bring back to your villa for lunches. Trattorias and bars are sometimes open, and if you can find an arancini, indulge yourself!
Walk the town streets, go into all the little stores and shops, buy a small bottle to take to the local winery to refill, enjoy a cafe, take an evening walk around the piaza, and enjoy the people.
Remember to check your western expectations at the airport and simply go with the flow and you will enjoy what a vacation is intended to be!

Great service, excellent accommodations, and a perfect home base to come back to every night while exploring all the Tuscany has to offer. We did San Gimignano one day, Pisa another, Florence another, and we caught a train from Pisa to Rome and spent two days there also; what a wonderful vacation and except for an overnight in Rome, HGVC was a great place to come home to each day to relax and recharge. There are some great little towns with excellent authentic food and drink close by too, so make sure you soak up the local culture here too, not just the bigger towns.

Great location!! We did day trips to Pisa (Tower) and then rented e-bikes for a trip out to the coast, to Cinque Terre for a day of hiking, to San Gimignano for a Vespa tour and Wine Tasting and to Caliderio Terme Etrusche for a Spa Day. We also walked to Podere La Chiesa for a wine tasting. On our last morning we were a little wistful that we did not spend more time locally enjoying the amazing Tuscan restaurants and the relaxing location of Borgo Alle Vigne, and why we need to go back! The 2 Bedroom was plenty spacious enough for us and our two college daughters. The kitchen is small (but who is cooking in Italy!) and leaky showers are ubiquitous in Italy!
