We enjoyed our recent visit to Fonte del Benessere, although we did not have the time to enjoy the spa. Our room was spacious and clean, with a wonderful view of the Sanctuary up on the hill. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Staff members were friendly and helpful.
My husband and I booked the wellness room for a weekend away and we were not disappointed. Very clean, comfortable and spacious, with excellent staff. Beautiful spa indoor and out, and our room had a huge jacuzzi as well as heated relaxing chairs. They often have special offers, so well worth catching one of those. The area is also beautiful to tour, with the Cathedral of Addolorata nearby as well as several other attractions such as Ripa dei forti village.
For a reputed 5 star resort I was regrettably underwhelmed by this resort. Whilst most aspects of the hotel were generally fair, there were just too many niggles which would make it hard for me to recommend. Of the positives the pricing for food and beverages were really great value and especially at the hotel’s restaurant which I have separately reviewed in deserved glowing terms. Parking and wifi was complimentary. On arrival no assistance was made available to assist with our luggage. Whilst check in was efficient, no information was offered as to the facilities, the protocols with the “guarded” towels, dining times etc. Our “junior suite” was spotlessly clean however function poor. The ridiculously narrow double shower would struggle with any full sized adult and drained poorly and absent of any bathroom towels (later collected from the spa) . The television was the size of an old desk top computer screen, lighting was poor, almost no where to store suit cases and the neighbours television nearly always unduly audible. The outdoor terrace was pleasant enough but felt unsafe with the barrier broken glass. My wife and I both enjoyed the heated outdoor pool although achieving service was over three days was a challenge. Probably the most unappealing aspect of our stay was the breakfast. We have travelled multiple times to almost every region of Italy and are accustomed to “Italian” breakfast offerings. Apart from the great coffee and fresh orange juice (make your own), the other offerings were meagre at best. For example, no eggs but some soggy bacon and no fresh bread or rolls but some sweet supermarket bread for toast. For such a fabulous evening restaurant venue, the breakfast is an embarrassment. Given our assessment of the resort, neither my wife or I were interested in the spa.…
Excellent centre of health and relaxation in the Molisan countryside just outside the town of Isernia. Strictly speaking, advanced booking is necessary; however, as it wasn’t busy, I was able to get in. At the time of this review, the cost (for a whole day) is €35 (+ an optional lunch fee of €15). The place is enormous and very welcoming. It has both an outdoor and indoor swimming pool (connected)... the former with an attached ‘bar’ with underwater seating (stools). The indoor swimming pool has integrated jacuzzi-type areas with powerful water jets to massage selected areas of the body including back/shoulders etc. There are both outdoor and indoor expansive lounger/relaxation areas. Downstairs, there is a Turkish steam and a sauna and also more lounger/relaxation areas. Further down the hallway, there are dedicated rooms for massage (I think requiring separate booking) and other forms of hydrotherapy and rehabilitation. Lunch was served two-floors up in the restaurant (I think part of an integrated local hotel), for which there was no requirement to change out of the swimwear and supplied ‘dressing gown’. Lunch was excellent, with professional service and comfortable environment. Highly recommended for a relaxing break during - for example, like me - a sweltering motorcycling trip.…
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, every aspect of this spa resort was excellent, from the friendly and helpful staff on reception and in the spa to the great service and outstanding quality of food in the restaurant. The location, on a mountainside with the beautiful church behind us, and the wonderful views beyond, were just breathtaking. All of this was underpinned by the whole team of staff who did their utmost to ensure that our stay was one to remember.
