I travelled alone and I can say I never felt unsafe at any time during my time in the Maldives. The staff from the hotel picked me up from the airport and took me directly to the hotel. They are all so friendly and helpful; even when they saw me outside of it they always came to say hello and ask about my day. The location is all within walking distance to the restaurants and the beach and the view when you step out the hotel is amazing. I found this place to meet everything I wanted and was very happy with what I received. I would personally recommend this place

We had the best stay at String Waves. The personal was so sweet and very helpful. We lived on first floor with our own balcony with the most beautiful view. We give our best recommendations and will definitely be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

До бикини-бич, ресторанчиков - пара минут ходьбы. В номере есть все необходимое. Включенный в стоимость номера завтрак отличный (на выбор - континентальный или мальдивский). Предоставляются пляжные полотенца, но фен берите с собой. Очень дружелюбный и приветливый персонал (особенно Коди, просто золотой парень). Владелец отеля - классный инструктор по дайвингу (если мечтаете попробовать - очень рекомендуют). Было очень приятно получить небольшой, но милый подарок к Новому году! Остров хорош замечательным пляжем и интересным домашним рифом с кучей живности (помимо множества рыб, водятся скаты, акулы - даже повезло увидеть небольшую манту). Если у вас чувствительные ножки (как у меня) - возьмите коралловые тапки (дно песчаное, но попадаются обломки кораллов и там, где поглубже, особенно). На острове много маленьких продуктовых магазинчиков и всего два, в которых можно купить кремы для загара, гель алоэ и кокосовое масло (Saura и еще один на той же улочке, любой местный покажет). Солнышко очень активное, пригодятся кремы с высоким SPF. Лучшие экскурсии - от отеля Sandy Heaven, цена/качество превосходят все ожидания. С удовольствием приеду еще раз! To bikini beach, restaurants - a couple of minutes walk. The room has everything you need. The breakfast included in the room rate is excellent (you can choose between continental or Maldivian). Beach towels are provided, but bring your own hair dryer. Very friendly and welcoming staff (especially Cody, just a golden guy). The owner of the hotel is a great diving instructor (if you want to try it, it's highly recommended). It was very nice to receive a small but cute gift for the New Year! I will gladly come again!…

Cozy place with friendly, cheerful, and helpful staff. Good place near bikini beach. You can ask staff regarding best activities on these islands and they will help you. They can help with arranging private boats for more comfortable travelling on nearest islands and diving points.

Gulhi is a very nice island with very good reef and bikini beach and great Karma. String wave is located in a perfect location close to 2 beaches. Rooms are very nice and clean. Ali, Ibrahim and Shaden work in the reception, they are very friendly and give very good service, always ready to advise and assist and always with a smile on their face. Adam, the owner of the hotel is a diving master and he showed us many diving points around the Atoll. We will definitely return to visit this hotel and island many times.

J'ai logé au String Waves durant 1 semaine en février 2020. Les chambres sont modestes et ja'i eu la mauvaise surprise de découvrir que la fenêtre de ma chambre (la n°3) donnait sur un haut mur en parpaing à moins d'un mètre. On a vu mieux pour passer un séjour aux Maldives. Le petit déj continental est médiocre. Mais ma plus grosse déconvenue a été l'organisation par l'hôtel d'une excursion en mer de snorkling. Le bateau nous a laissé sans assistance sur un banc de sable (sans ombre possible) et n'est revenu que 2 heures et demi plus tard. Sans excuse, ni explication, il est revenu nous chercher pour tomber en panne 3 minutes plus tard (fuite d'essence). Ils ont appelé à l'aide un simple jet ski qui est arrivé avec 2 bidons d'essence, prêt à refaire le plein en pleine mer avec les passagers à bord, ce qui est formellement interdit pour des raisons de sécurité évidente. Après avoir refusé cette manipulation et beaucoup insisté pendant près d'une heure supplémentaire, un bateau est finalement venu nous secourir. Nous nous sommes plaints de cette mauvaise prestation auprès de l'hôtel qui a trouvé normal de ne pas payer cette excursion. Mais au moment de quitter l'île, il nous a fait littéralement du chantage pour que nous payions la moitié du prix de l'excursion, donnant l'ordre au bateau navette de nous débarquer et nous traitant de voleur. De peur de louper notre vol retour, nous avons dû finalement nous acquitter de la somme en question. La personne de l'hôtel en question s'appelle Sale. C'est donc pour cette principalement raison que je ne recommande pas cet hôtel de Gulhi. D'autres hôtels bien mieux et plus fiables sont disponibles sur l'île.…

Struttura molto semplice e nuova(1 anno) a 2 passi dalla bikini beach... Ha solo 5 stanze di cui:1 al piano superiore con grande balcone vista mare 1 al piano terra con balcone piccolo(io ho soggiornato li) vista mare 1 con finestra vista mare e 2 senza vista. Pulizia camera 2 volte al giorno Colazione media Staff GIOVANE ESTREMAMENTE EDUCATO E SERVIZIEVOLE. Grazie.

We were 7 people whose travelling together. We booked all rooms for 1 week. The room upstairs, the most expensive is nice but you can sleep peacefully because of the water’s motor which turn on everytime somebody use a tap. At the beginning, String waves workers were king and attentive with us. We booked an excursion with them (snorkeling and sand band). It was awful and dangerous. The boat crew brang us to a place with strong current, it was impossible to swim there. After, they let us on a sand band ALONE, didn’t explained us anything. We had to wait 2 hours the boat crew came back, without any shadow on the sand band. They didn’t said anything and we stayed 2 hours in the middle of Indian Ocean. After they came back, we had a boat problem and this one didn’t worked anymore. We stayed, once again, in the middle of Indian Ocean, without explanation. We asked them to call rescue but they didn’t have boat radio to call... They finally called their friends whose arrived with a jet ski (come from Gulhi watersport) with fuel to fill the tank... with us inside. Actually, the boat was not working of a hole on the fuel tank. We explained there how it’s useless to fill a tank with holes but the said they will fill directly the engine 😱 We totally refused this idea because of dangerousness. We finally called rescue by ourselves with our cell phone because they didn’t. Once came back String waves hotel, workers said « you don’t have to pay this excursion », because of all problems. 2 days later, we wanted to take the boat to go back to Male, to take our return flight, String waves worker said to boat captain do not accept us on his boat because we are sheeter and thief because we didn’t pay the excursion. We try to speak with him about what happened but Salle didn’t care about anything. It was the last boat of the day and we had a flight to catch so we finally paid. We were so disappointed about the situation and we just to advice do not go there! This experience destroyed my holidays …

No habíamos reservado este hotel, pero frente a un problema con la reserva de nuestros alojamiento, no nos quedo mas remedio que parar aquí, al principio estábamos muy disgustadas porque no era nuestro hotel, pero el personal del albergue desde el primer momento estuvieron para ayudarnos y revertir el mal rato que estábamos pasando. Las habitaciones muy limpias cómodas y grandes, todo funciona a la perfección. La ubicación es bastante buena se ve el mar desde la ventana. En desayuno muy bueno, si bien no nos dieron opción nos pareció riquísimo. Creo que lo que mas nos gusto sin duda fue la extraordinaria atención de un joven empleado que si bien no recordamos el nombre fue inolvidable, atento, amable y muy simpático. Para nosotras fue un poco caro, pero con respecto a la isla esta bien.…

This small hotel is set on the ocean front with views out to the reefs and a small island which is excellent for snorkelling from. The rooms were well decorated, modern, spacious and had AC, WiFi and a private bathroom. The Hotel has been newly done up and there are some lovely touches from the concrete floors and the sofa area in the entrance which is part glassed looking out to sea and part open with stairs going up to a massive terrace. There is a large guest room up there so not sure if you can use the terrace if the room is taken. There are 3 other types of rooms. Standard, sea view and the one we had which was the sea view with a small terrace overlooking the sea and at night you can spot the fruit bats in the treetops. In the morning you can walk across the small sand track to the oceans edge and watch the small reef sharks swim along the shoreline. Magical. Breakfast is included and you can choose between the continental (chicken sausage, egg, toast and fruit) or the Maldivian (coconut and tuna diced up and egg). Arif who looked after us was lovely from getting us from the boat with his wheel barrow, to checking us in, to cooking our breakfast, to getting beach towels, to arranging our return transfer!
