My family and I had a lovely vacation, we had the a great time, we made so many activities, fishing and parasailing were so fun, the food was good in all the restaurants, our favorite was the chicken biryani in portico, we asked the receiptfrom our essentialisit Chaimaa because we loved it so much, the spa massages were amazing, we would like to thank Chaimaa for all her love, she made our trip fantastic, my kids love her so much, she is the loveliest person we have ever met, i even want to steal her from Patina and take it with me to Saudi arabia, without her our trip will not be the same, she is very attentive to details and very professional, my kids also love the kids club and all the activies. Thank you Patina for this amazing stay
Hi all. First, we travelled as a couple, 50 yo, easy going but fairly discerning when it comes to value for money. Patina really does have the feel that the very best of planning was taken when constructing this experience. I will also cover off on some of the perceived negatives that I have heard. Fari Island - this island is relatively new and smacks of a property developer that knows what they are doing. The layout is excellent ensuring that nothing is more than a 3 minute bike ride from everything. The vegetation has not only been well planned but has taken. The region is flat, and the vegetation is already at a stage where every spot on the island feels secluded. New to the layout, there are many walks which truly make you feel alone or if you want, can quickly become turned in to feeling like you are close to civilisation. There are works on an adjacent island, but we heard nothing, we could see them doing things, but the sound did not carry. Well done Facilities - the shortest way to sum this up is that the resort is brand new and looks and feels like opulence in a discreet manner. It truly is beautiful, and MK has done another stunning job. Spacious, impeccably finished and well planned, the public spaces move with the typical flow that you would expect. At the start of the stay, the occupancy was at 70% and you would never have known Activities - if you love water sports then they are endless. Snorkelling was the only thing that we utitlised as we are not water sport fans but still found enough to do on this island to keep us busy. Accommodation - we were in the Overwater 1 bedroom villa, and it was stunning and certainly worth the premium. Serene, finely appointed and mod cons in the room made the stay extremely enjoyable. Bed was extremely comfortable and the shower and bathroom was excellent. I do have to mention Ad Astra, it is remarkable and for those that don’t mind the expense you have to do it, for those like us that can’t, you still have to do it. It is one hour in your life where you feel really good about yourself, we did the sunset cruise. Flow spa is well appointed, staffed by friendly and experienced staff that are also good at what they do Dining - before going there we were a little scared of the price of food on this isolated location. I must say that it was value for money, the food is varied and delightful. Once sampled, it is the equal of any other high end restaurant in the world and when appreciated in this manner, reasonably priced. Just every night of your stay. The vegan option, I am an avid meat eater, was delicious and surprising and as we went for 7 nights, we were lucky enough to dine in each of the offerings and didn’t have to dine in one twice. None of the eateries left us disappointed right down to the free ice cream and the burgers at the food trucks which were a lovely way to break up the day. The first days breakfast we found a bit compartmentalised but the new Executive Chef arrived when we did and made some changes and by the back end of the trip the mornings were working really well. He is good at what he does, and I would be really interested in some of the changes that he has made by now. Service - on arrival we were presented with our Essentialist, a personal concierge if you like assigned to us for the duration of our stay. Think Upper House in Hong Kong or a dialled down version for island life of concierge in New York. Hasan was brilliant, really brilliant. We literally did nothing. He had us booked in to all the restaurants before we arrived, then tweaked the order to suit our personal palates, helped with COVID protocols and so on and so on and son on for the whole stay. Gave us advice and to be fair, is just a really great guy. Engaged in his job and the process with a delivery manner which is inobtrusive, he is very good at his job. He is the Hasan that comes through the communications as Haxan. The experience - we were lucky to encounter staff drinks on the first night and really had a chance to mingle with those that are close to the offering. It was a lovely night (and I never do these) and admittedly for the rest of the trip, this helped immensely. They were constantly checking with you as you walked past, engaging in conversation and they have some really great stories to tell. They were also genuinely interested in feedback and also what else you had seen from other experiences that you had had at other offerings. Well done. Everyone needs to experience Patina Fari Islands once in their life. For feedback regarding other age groups experiencing this or further feedback please feel free to direct message me. PS. Big thank you to Nikki at FBI Travel for organising such a wonderful trip…
This was our first time in the Maldives and we had really high expectations for this trip - we are glad that our Patina experience was definitely 5 stars… and more! Upon immigration clearance at the airport, we were promptly received by the Patina airport executive, Ashma, who was so welcoming it started our trip on a very good note. We were then whisked away by Nala Koamas and the crew, Zaail, Naafiu and Azuham, were very friendly and constantly checked in on us. The facilities in the boat were also very modern. After about an hour’s journey, we greeted by a number of staff and introduced to our essentialist, Nattey. He brought us on a quick buggy tour around the very big and clean island showing us the various restaurants and facilities, we were brought to our sunset overwater villa, which we got an upgrade to (I think). The villa was exquisitely designed with clearly modern touches like black taps, open concept showers and sliding doors that open up entirely to our private deck and pool and of course the beautiful waters. The room was well-stocked and everything just looked really new and clean. There are a whole lot of activities you can do there - gym, cycling around the island, sports (both on land and water), cruises/tours, wellness classes, spa etc… or just simply be a beach bum! In terms of food, many restaurants/food trucks serving different cuisines are available and we were definitely spoilt for choice. There are also complimentary ice cream and evening cocktails daily. All the food we had were really delicious, but our favourites were Wok Society and Farine. Now to the best part, service. Almost all the staff we met on the island were super friendly, helpful, and most importantly, passionate about giving guests the most amazing experience. Shoutout to these folks (we are super bad with names and we apologise) - from Portico: Ayaz, Afizal, Ruby, Salt, Lam, Falah; from Fari Marina Village: Munis, Lakshay, Faye, Francesca; Nila from Flow, Afla who picked up us several times and shared so much information about the island, Rashid from the water sports centre and so many more! On our last day, we were once again received by Ashma at the dock, and she accompanied us all the way till we checked in - Patina’s service was truly exceptional from day 1. Also a pro tip: trust the reviews here about Chaimaa - we were really fortunate to have met her and she is really awesome! Thank you so much for going the extra mile for us even though you were not our essentialist. :))) Overall, we were so happy to have chosen Patina for our first ever visit. These pictures simply do not do justice to how beautiful the island is… and you definitely need to be there in person for a full experience. We shall be back soon!…

They said you have to explore different hotels in Maldives, but Patina is the place where I will definitely come back! They have the most amazing design both exterior and interior. Their service is superb. Big thanks to my essentialist, Cathy, who manage everything for me and make my stay super comfortable. And thanks to all the staffs as they are helpful and friendly (their welcome style is so unique). My partner and I really have a great time at most restaurants and beach club. We really like the food at Brasa and Koen. There are so many activities that you can enjoy here. We did tennis with Kris and it is super great and fun time! The spa is another place that everybody SHOULD NOT MISSED!! Our spa session is amazingly comfortable. There is not one thing that I do not like it here at Patina.…
It's not very often that you get to call something perfect, but in this case it's true! The room was beautiful, the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunset, and we could even snorkel right off of the deck. The reef outside of our villa was filled with the most splendidly coloured fish. The food was delicious, the stake is a must try experience, and you get free ice-cream on the beach... literally my dream come true. The staff is what really made the experience outstanding though. Everyone we met was friendly, professional, knowledgable, and went above and beyond to help make our trip the best it could be. Cathy our essentialist made it so we never had a single worry during our stay, she was a joy to be around, and sometimes it was like she even read our minds... she would cater to our needs before we even asked her to. I'm so grateful to have had her as our essentialist, she really made our stay perfect.…
Fari Island in the Maldives is absolute paradise. If you stay on the sunset facing over water villas, right off your front deck you can experience amazing snorkeling. Big schools of colorful tropical fish are just hanging out right in front of your room. After your Snorkeling, climb up to your amazing deck with hot tub and infinity pool and breath in balmy fresh ocean air. Every whim is catered to by the caring and attentive staff. Our "Essentialist" Cathy has a great sense of humor. She was funny and caring and handled every request with 5 Star professionalism and attention.

This was our first visit to the Maldives, and we were very lucky that we stayed in Patina. More importantly, (Chaima) made it much more exceptional by taking care of all needed arrangements starting from our entry until the very last step in check out. We worried about absolutely nothing, she’s very punctual and helpful, and detail oriented. A special thank you to her and to all the working staff on the island.
