Reethi Rah is the best place to stay in the Maldives if you want privacy (large island allows for ultimate privacy and plenty of individual space), stunning accommodations, divine food and beverage options, music/nightlife, and world class hospitality and service!

The hotel definitely exceeds expectations. The new boat upon arrival sets the style of the holiday you gonna have. The island is very beautiful and well-taken care of . After the rain in the evening there appeared some wholes on the paths in the morning , the issues were solved in a few hours with necessary technical equipment and sand . The food is really high quality , tastes like Italy and France . The are around 10 beautiful beaches all made like a crescent shape , so almost every spot of the villa has good location . Thank you

Celebrated our 25th anniversary here in it was truly a memorable experience. From the personal care and attention from the staff (including the general manager who addressed us by our name multiple times during our 4 night stay) to the accommodations (overwater villa w/ pool sunset view), the experience was unparalleled to previous island destinations we’ve been throughout the years (Fiji, Hawaii, Caribbean, etc). As Americans visiting from Southern California, just a nice beach and warm weather would not have impressed us. It’s the details and little things that O&O Reethi Rah does to make the experience relaxing, enjoyable and feeling like royalty from the beginning to the end. Food- 5/5: Japanese, Italian and breakfast buffet (board) was just perfect Value: 5/5: You get what you pay for. Uber/Ultra luxury has a price. We’ve paid for it elsewhere but did not receive same value Room: 5/5: overwater villa was clean, no signs of wear thought it’s over 16yr old resort. We had villa 155 which has a straight view of sunset from room (April-Aug). Staff: 5/5: our butler Roberto was attentive, gave a great tour and food recommendation s. He even replied to our requests during his day off (we assumed his backup was monitoring his WhatsApp account; oops 😬). Restaurant, cleaning, and buggy drivers were courteous and attentive. Transport: 4/5: bikes are easy to ride but it’s just hot. You can call for a golf cart buggy pickup whenever you want or even rent one (for around $350/day for those able 😳). Yacht transfer was comfortable, smooth and fast (less than 45mins) Weather: 4/5: it’s a little humid for our SoCal tastes and we had a few showers during our stay but that’s not the resorts fault.
We don’t know when we may visit again, but we will always have fond memories of O&O Reethi Rah!

We went to One and Only Reethi Rah for our honeymoon. If I’m honest the experience was underwhelming. Especially considering the price. It is an Instagramer’s paradise — everything is very photogenic and manicured. Bicycles provided make moving around the island easy and fun. But below the surface things aren’t so great. The coral reef is dead. Snorkelling around the island is like swimming above a cemetery, everything is dead and covered in white powdery stuff. Extremely sad. I’ve been told One and Only destroyed the reef in the process of expanding the island. Food is beautifully laid and presented but actually isn’t that flavoursome. Japanese restaurant on the island was the only place we personally found delicious. Your personal butler is nice but there is always an underlining feeling that you are supposed to spend, spend, spend (Buffet dinner for €750 per person...). Everything and anything costs extra. It feels like a very cold headed business rather than a warm welcoming place. I am extremely unlikely to ever visit another One and Only resort again. Mostly because of their lack of concern for the environment (killing the reef to extend the area of the island) but also because I don’t want to feel like I’m constantly being ‘milked’ for money.

after staying in other newer resorts we wanted to try the famous One & Only Resort. it was just after new years and the resort was fully booked. Yet due to the fact that the island is by far the biggest in the maldives, you hardly see crowds or many guests. One absolute pro is, that the beach villas are very seclued and the set-up of the villas in general is very private. If you stay longer then 1 week in a resort, this one is great as you have a vast amount of restaurants and menus to choose from (yet the prices of the fod & Beverages are rather high: Teppanyaki at approx 280$ per Person and the treehouse dinner at more then 1000$ for two incl. beverages). Gym and Spa are great! Beach club is a bit too much wonna be St. Tropez...but nice. two nice pools. everywhere on the website and in the villas there was a dress code mentioned for the resorts, but to be honest nobody enforced the dresscode. Some guests came in hot pants and t-shirts. I actually dont like to dress up on vacation and in these temperatures, but then ...the resort should just stop the dress code all together. The Resort is 15 years old, but in amazing shape ! The Villas are smaller than the newer competitors, but the interior design is timeless and of good quality.

For anyone looking for a truly unique and unforgettable experience, this is your hotel! It’s hard to describe in words how perfect our holiday was, however to start: 1) Location. property is only 1 hour boat drive from international airport. We booked the luxury shared transfer and it was fantastic. The boat is actually a very comfortable yacht with full crew. 2) Service. the staff is warm and profesional. We were welcome by the GM, Florian, Alex and our personal butler, Barbara. Great arrival experienced! Barbara showed us all the property on the way to the villa and gave us a phone so that we can contact her during our stay. She helped with our tours and dinner reservations. The buggy drivers are incredible and fun! We met 2 from Male and they told us about the country and living in Maldives. 3) Villas are fantastic! Our villa was located in front of the beach and had a swimming pool. You have everything that you need in your villa plus the room service team is quick and makes you feel like if you were dinning in an actual restaurant. 4) Food: no other word than delicious. We tried the main restaurant, the Japanese and Botánica, all great. Food and beverage selection is vast. The breakfast buffet is also great, basically is a buffet plus an a la carte restaurant, they also have a gluten free area so it was very convenient. We also had drinks at the main pool and bar. All the staff were very attentive and made us feel at home 5) Activities: whoever says there is nothing to do in Maldives did not stay in One & Only. My favorite one was “seabob” snorkeling. If you are looking for something more relax, they can arrange a paddle board for you (ps is not as easy as it seems). 6) Spa: we had a couple massage and it was so relaxing. The room was in front of the ocean and you can hear the waves while you are enjoying the relaxing massage. The therapist were very knowledgeable and we didn’t want the 90 minutes to ever end. In overall: FABULOUS.
Tips: bring aqua shoes as in some parts of the beach you have corals so not comfortable to be barefoot.

We stayed at the One & Only Reethi Rah in November 2019 and loved it. Yes, it's pricey, and be prepared to pay for extras, but it's fabulous and a real luxury experience. The breakfasts are EPIC! Our water villa was stunning - one of the best rooms we've ever stayed in. We loved how the island is fairly big and that you get bicycles so that you can ride around and explore the island or just move from beach to beach. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and always on hand of you needed anything.
There were quite a few families, however there is a kids club and a family beach. As a couple, we preferred to stay at the beach where breakfast is served and where there's an adult's only infinity pool.
The spa is also free to visit - you can use the steam room, sauna and the outside relaxation area where there's a plunge pool. It was lovely!
I organised a champagne sunset cruise for my husband's birthday and it was fabulous - I highly recommend it. We also did a private snorkelling trip to see the turtles, which was amazing. Unfortunately climate change has had a huge impact on the Maldives (the high temperatures are killing the coral reefs) but Reethi Rah is committed to sustainability and they have a marine biologist too. We loved our stay and would stay again.

My wife and I visited this property with our 3 younger children (5-7) for the third time in the last 4 years. Possibly this has been the best experience ever: the island is incredibly beautiful and large enough to ride, play tennis, volleyball and have a good 6 km run. The reef is great: we swam in the middle of 10 sharks, saw several turtles and beautiful fish just 5’ from the resort. The food, accommodations and the full resort are managed perfectly: roads and beaches are cleaned and settled daily. The gym is really top. On top of all this, the General Manager and the full staff have possibly brought to an even higher level the customer service and personalization: it seems impossible the full staff knew my room numbers and names of my family and children, their food preferences and they made their very best to make the vacation perfect - while the environment remains pleasantly informal. This is our second time at One and only maldives and the fourth time in maldives as tourist we've visited so many resorts never had this experience . My opinion when i first came to this resort was the same as it is now. Horrible than before. Firstly to start our food at the lebanese restraunt fanditha had a piece of plastic in our food which could have caused a life hazard. Secondly the buggy at this resort takes around 20 minutes even if its an emergency. Thirdly food in room service take 1 hr 30 mins. And the service for booking excursions etc is so inefficient. There are much better resorts in maldives this resort is not worth it also it is not even near to any one and only resorts around the world. Please don't waste time and money.

We had a wonderful family holiday on One & Only’s island resort at Reethi Rah, Maldives last month. Nothing was a problem & all requests were met with outstanding service & professionalism. We often find high end resorts (especially when located on a private island) have a poor choice of restaurants but at Reethi Rah we had the most memorable food experiences. There is an extensive selection of cuisines available at the many unique restaurants. Our favourites were the Arabic buffet in the sand at Fanditha, Japanese over the ocean at Tapasake and the stunning, garden inspired restaurant Botanica in an inner island jungle setting. Breakfast was also a stand out and the fresh pasta at the Italian night We spent a morning with their photographer capturing some beautiful family moments. The photos will be treasured for years to come. Our villa was nothing short of perfect. Beach front luxury with a private pool. We hardly saw any other guests so really felt a world away from everyone. If we wanted to be amongst it, the beach club always had a day bed waiting complete with excellent cocktails, water sports & live dj. Our kids loved the kids club, their own special menu, the bikes, the turtle rescue program & catching hermit crabs on the beach. They were incredibly well catered for. We will never forget our amazing trip & the wonderful staff at Reethi Rah. Such a paradise to be in, we hope to return again some day.

hi there,
you can either have a 3 course meal at the main restaurant or otherwise they give you a credit in any of the other restaurants.
enjoy your trip there
Kids are only a “problem” at breakfast time although you can always request a quiet table and staff will do everything they can do to accommodate.
We too value peace and quiet and there are plenty of options to find it there and if you’ve booked a villa with plunge pool, then you’re in your private sanctuary ….totally romantic!
We’ve been twice now and kids haven’t spoiled it for us at any time.
You MUST go-there’s nowhere more romantic, in our opinion!
There are more places to choose from in the Reethirah Island area.
