This is a cute little hotel, with very helpful staff. We got a nice room with a huge bed and a very nice bathroom. Everything looks very new and well maintained. The only negative is that rooms are not well isolated and, at least in our case, you could hear your neighbors more than you want. It is an excellent place to stop during the Camino.
My friend and I stayed in a twin room with balcony during our Camino. It was a peaceful oasis after many nights of communal dorm living. We loved the whole experience from the warm welcome from Laura at reception to the blissful reflexology massage with Lidia, which was a highlight of our trip and it helped us heal after long days of walking, to the balcony overlooking the garden to the deep bathtub and bath bombs that relaxed our aching bodies to the delicious breakfast. I would stay here again in a heart beat.
The hotel is very well located, close to the cathedral, restaurants, and the Way of Saint James (Camino de Santiago). It is very quiet hotel for a good rest; we only heard birds singing. The room was superb: clean, modern, and stylish; it had a bathtube and balcony for a late drink or just star-watching. The bed was really big (KIng size, extra wide) and comfortable. A/C worked properly and was not noisy at all. We felt safe with all social distancing, hand-sanitizing hydroalcoholic gel and measures for the pandemic seriously taken. We had a nice breakfast (fresh fruit, wide choice, also vegan offer) in the terrace for safety and the pleasure of eating outside. Elena, the receptionist, made us a pleasant stay and offered us a lot of choices for bike-renting and other nature-related or cultural visits, as well as eating recommendations. The hotel is bike-friendly: it offers space to keep the bikes safely and have bike supplies for pilgrims or visitors coming by bike. We had a really pleasant stay, as we would have not even imagined for this strange covid19 summer. We highly recommend it.…
Only a 200 yards or so from the central plaza. Convenient to meet up with fellow pilgrims walking the Camino Frances. The hotel was quite modern compared to others where I stayed. My room had a bath. A review elsewhere was concerned about the railway, to be honest I didn't see or hear it - maybe the beer or the fact that I sleep well after walking. A number of bars in the central plaza by the church with shades to keep off the sun/rain. I ate the pilgrims menu in the hotel in the evening, a first I couldn't eat it all, nothing to do with the quality that was very good. A number of locals there in the evening which must speak for the place. Lots of choice at breakfast but to be honest I was still full from last night. Recommended.
The positive. Rooms are good. Location central. The negative. Railway line close by and they whistle/horn as they come through. If you sleep with windows open it's an issue. They switch over the aircons to winter mode in September so they only heat not cool. It hot today so no air con... WiFi connects but no internet bandwidth so not even news sites will load. Restaurant closed tonight due exceptional issue. OK we can go elsewhere. Bathroom toilet roll dispenser is a high tech system that has failed in our room and coz locked we have no toilet roll. Unforgivable. You be the judge.
