First impression after arrival: From the outside a large and somewhat forbidding hotel as if from the old communist eastern block era in need of some love and care. But, receptionist very friendly and helpful indeed. Standard rooms fully booked but given free upgrade to suite. Excellent! Large room but furnishings dated and old fashioned. Bed very good though. Roughly 2x2 meters! Updated bathroom. Corridors very noisy. A group of youngsters was staying and they caused a racket! Room doors with old fashioned locks and doors could only be closed with a loud bang! Restaurant large but not cosy or intimate. Food (all inclusive menu of the day) ok in parts but not good in others. Staff efficient and helpful. Free parking. Handy for shopping with both a Mercadona and Lidl opposite. And, in case you need it. The local hospital is next door!…
We had an unplanned stay here after our car broke down on the way home. The bedroom furniture was modern and comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. The bathroom and the building itself are a bit dated but comfortable. There was some English speaking staff and they were very helpful with checking in and finding the bus times for us. Fernando even took us to the bus station in his own car because it was pouring at the time. This is the kind of service that is above and beyond expectations and we were very grateful for that.
Very comfortable hotel. Excellent food. Fernando was at the bar and was very friendly and very professional. All areas were COVID cleaned and ready for customers, with disinfectant facilities available.
I was fortunate to stay at this hotel for a special weekend. Converged by 100’s of us the facilities were perfect. The reception and bar staff brilliant, the waiting equally friendly. Rooms very comfortable, with a good powerful shower. The breakfast was typically Spanish and plentiful and the room we had for dinner and disco more than ample.
We checked in, expecting it to be basic but clean. We got very basic and very dirty. Bed linen full of stains, decorative cushions placed on the pillows were very dirty. On complaint to reception - complete with photographs - she gave us a key to an upgrade room which was a slight improvement, but the hairs in the beds didn't bode well. We returned to reception and eventually the manager arrived. He was very apologetic when we explained and presented photographic evidence, he gave a full refund. We were fortunate that it was only 5pm and we went and booked in a few miles up the road.
We wanted somewhere not too far away from Santander after leaving the boat at 6 pm. We arrived at the hotel at 7 pm straight off the motorway. Very easy to find, free parking pleasant receptionist and a very nice room with a terrace and a view of the mountains. We had dinner in their restaurant. Very lively as a Saturday night and obviously popular with the locals. It was quite amazing value for good basic Spanish food. 3 courses with coffee plus a bottle of good house wine and coffee too. All for 19 euros!!’ Huge portions by the way! Breakfast had a good selection with freshly squeezed orange juice for 5 euros. Would we stay again? Most definitely yes! If you are looking for the Ritz then this is not for you but if you want a good comfortable bed for the night, a very easy hotel to find, lots of parking and good basic Spanish food for an extremely competitive price then it is! …
First impressions were ok - check-in was quick and polite. The rooms are dated beyond belief, not having been touched since construction in the (I'm guessing..) the 60's. Very poor standards of cleanliness, glass stains on tables, smears on mirrors, crisp/crunchy towels, dirty pipework around bath, etc. The usual 'sanitised' band on the toilet seat was a sham, capturing some long hairs from the previous occupants. The beds were as hard as rock with poor pillows. Breakfast was a joke. OK, only 5 euros but for that one mitht expect hot coffee, fresh bread and croissants. None of these! Coffee was lukewarm, bread hard and croissant a week old - tried and left as inedible. On checking out, I refused to pay for the breakfast and an argument ensued with the bullish restaurant manager, he with little English and me with less Spanish! He denied the poor quality of the fare until we dragged him over to the breakfast bar and made him feel the goods on offer - he then immediately apologised and cancelled the charge. What crappy management!! His job is to ensure the quality of output and he hadn't bothered. In short, avoid at all costs. I can't really believe how bad it was.…
After a delay on the Santander crossing we had to change our plans and were lucky to book this comfortable hotel at the last minute. The room was large, centrally heated and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The three course meal deal was not only good value but extremely tasty. The local bean cassoulet as a starter was a meal in itself. Highly recommended and good value.
The room was large, the beds comfortable and it was very warm. The ensuite bathroom worked very well. We were en-route to Palencia, after disembarking at Santander, but were caught in a snow blizzard. The Guardia Seville closed the roads and we had to quickly find accommodation, this hotel with its English speaking receptionist, quickly found accommodation for us and many others caught in the storm.
Stayed here a few weeks ago on the recommendation of a friend and really enjoyed my stay. Very reasonably priced and staff where very friendly. I also ate there one night, food was excellent. Great location just on the edge of town.
