This place is just a joke, don't be fooled by the nice-looking gardens or the decor of the pub as that's where it all stops, we arrived at the pub at around 14.30 knowing we could not get into our rooms till 15.00 about 15,45 we thought we put our bags in the room. We were shown to the room and thought OK looks good at about 16,30 I went back to the room and thought i take our bags to the bedroom to my discussed the bed was left just how the last person had got out of the bed, I went back to the bar and said to the staff that the room was not ready and was told it was, I replied in a harsh way that you best go and look 2 members of staff had left the bar unattended then a member of staff told me its already now. Not one person apologised and just carried on with their work, Then come the meal i would have got better services from McDonalds then this place. When the meals arrived for the 4 of us, we had to get the attention of the staff as the soup spoons were missing the stake knifes missing and fork. By this time i just had enough i never finished my meal and no was bothered, we had spent around £550.00 on rooms drink and food and just got mugged of the place is just a joke.

We stayed a family with two rooms booked, the team are very attentive and offer great service. The menu and choices oaf beer and wine are good with a very friendly pub bar. The rooms are very clean and well designed , even if the stairs are a bit of a challenge !

A really enjoyable stay. The accommodation is quirky with its spiral staircase but is also modern and clearly recently refurbished. Stayed with my husband and daughter and she slept on the sofa bed downstairs and was really comfy. We all slept well- the room is well soundproofed from the pub next door and very cosy and warm. Nice seating area outside with access to a play park. Breakfast was delicious with a wide selection on offer. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Situated very near Scotney castle which is well worth a visit for its fairytale castle. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable visit. We will be back.

This is a pub that decided to add accommodation. We stayed here as part of a wedding trip. You have to negotiate a spiral staircase to go down to your en-suite toilet during the night. It's not easy especially if you partook of the pub's facilities. The upstairs bed is comfortable, but don't if you think you can get round the staircase issue by using a sofa bed downstairs. Our elderly parents tried this and hardly slept because it was uncomfortable. Breakfast is very nice if you're not in a hurry. They always sort out the drinks orders first when it's the food that takes the time. For a wedding with a lot to get done, an hour for breakfast was too slow.

Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback on your recent stay, it is stated on our listing that there are narrow spiral staircases and that these aren't suitable for everyone. We do take all feedback on board and will relay this to the team.

Lovely one night stay midweek. Room was very clean, very compact but really well thought out with amenities. Excellent shower. Bathroom light is automatic on/off - I think one of the other guest rooms somehow left their fan on as constant humming until just before midnight. Very comfortable bed. Near a relatively busy village road but noise wasn’t significant. As other guests have mentioned spiral staircase whilst lovely is very narrow and could be a challenge for some. Staff were very welcoming and efficient. Pub liked by locals and visitors alike so surprisingly busy midweek. Food came very quickly - delicious freshly cooked asparagus and broad bean risotto. No breakfast included midweek but website made that very clear on booking and lovely tearoom - Teise and Coffees - 5-10 mins walk into the village that does very reasonably priced breakfast.

We stayed for 2 nights in mid-Jan and found the rooms pleasant but some issues. Good: The staff were welcoming and friendly. Both through check-in/out and when serving breakfast Breakfast was lovely. Although the hollandaise sauce was a bit odd. The fry up, coffee and juices were delicious and service fantastic. Shower was brilliant. Excellent value for money especially considering the included breakfast at the weekend. Cons: Cleanliness. The room was not clean enough at all. There were toenails from previous guests on the floor. There was food packaging from previous guests in the bed. The sofa was covered in crumbs. I don't expect spotless but it looked as though it had barely been hoovered for a while. Given the pandemic, this isn't great and urgently should change. Bathroom light is only turned on/off by motion. At night time this means a long running light/fan if someone uses it. Ours didn't turn off for ages until we realised one of the towels was keeping it on cos of how it was hung. Annoying. Not a con necessarily but be aware of the staircase. It was fine for us, we're young, fit and slim, but if that's not you it may be very difficult to go up and down the tight spiral staircase. Certainly not a place I'd want to stay with elderly or young people at risk of falling.

We booked a room for the night along with a table for dinner and overall we weren’t disappointed. The pub creates a good first impression and we received a fairly warm welcome and were shown out to our room. The rooms are ‘compact’ and on two levels up a very narrow spiral staircase. There are some good aspects of the room; a lovely shower room with a very good shower, the bed was comfortable with good bedding and a quality mattress, plentiful tea/coffee with a lovely ily coffee maker. There were some issues with the level of housekeeping, but overall the room was in a fairly good shape. The meal in the restaurant was very good and amazingly busy for a Tuesday evening. The food and menu were enjoyable and the service was good. We both had very excellent pizzas and left very contented after our meal. Back in the room, we had a restful nights sleep. It was comfortable and quiet. A bit disappointing that breakfast isn’t offered through the week only at weekends, but the website made that quite clear so we knew we had to go out for breakfast. Check out wasn’t well explained, so we ended up just leaving the key in the room and went on our way as the pub was all locked up in darkness when we left, and checkout is quite early (before 10am). So all in all it was a good stay. With a bit of tweaking it could have been excellent with a bit more attention to detail, but the price point for what we received was satisfactory.

1st of all we booked the deluxe family room, the room that we where given was one of the tiny ones, they gave our room to someone else, but tried to cover it up, when I challenged head office about this they would not listen to me about be put in the wrong, even though I looked on the website reading out this information, they basically was lied to me service in the bar was slap happy, and got a dirty look when asked for the service charge to be taken off, this is optional not to be forced to pay by attitude from the waitress the shower was cold and flooded the place out, dust around the plugs and headboard The coffee machine was not cleaned out with left over pods from previous stay Not happy here and would never go back

We came from Scotland for a family reunion and stayed at the Vinyard for 4 nights in there little huts. We stayed in Scotney with our 7 week old baby. The accommodation was great with space for us 3 and a cute patio. The pub/restaurant itself is so lovely we had dinner there twice and breakfast. Food is fantastic and the staff are beyond a delight. Special mention to Norbert and Radu (sorry if I spelt that wrong!). Also a really great gin selection and the best mocha Iv had in a while. We will be back, very glad my parents recommended the place. They also stayed in another one of the huts and had a great stay!
