Upon arriving after a long day of flying and driving Arnold noticed immediately that I was in need of cold Piton, which he provided within minutes. Obviously that got my wife's and I stay off to a great start. But seriously, Arnold was a great host, who had great knowledge of the island and was able to help us plan our days. We asked him about a water taxi and he picked up his phone called a gentlemen named Cornelius and within minutes we had a water taxi for the entire day that went right out of Marigot Bay. He took us to Sugar Beach, Anse Chastanet, and of course the Pitons, but he will do whatever your pleasure tends. He also booked us a ride with his groundskeeper Andre for the Friday night street party in Gros Inlet. I strongly recommend going to this if you can, and if Andre is available I would certainly let him do the driving. Marigot Bay is fun little place to visit, a number of restaurants and outdoor bars. If you are looking for loud music and lots of partying maybe not the place you want to be but for us it was just what we needed. The sunsets were great and the staff at Chateau Mygo were very friendly and accommodating, also check out Doolittle's and Roots 2. It is a bit of steep walk from Marigot Bay back to Villa so maybe taking the 2 minute drive might worth it. Pigeon Island National Park is great place to visit, about an hour north from Villa. $10 USD to enter and there are a number of fun things to do there, even has a very nice beach. HInt, if you go to Castries for the day you may want to entertain the thought of getting a local guide for the day, lots going on there and for us we were a bit uncertain of where to go and what to do. St.Lucia is a beautiful island with friendly people, who already pretty much operate on Island Time, and Marigot Bay is a good jumping off point being centrally located in the island. Didn't want to end the review without stating again how great Arnold was, he certainly checked all the boxes of a great host. We even invited him to dinner on our last night and he told us some amazing stories about growing up in Canada, that said if you are a hockey fan, you and Arnold will have lots to talk about.…
The Villas are situated in the hills above Marigot Bay. We travelled the Island and did not regret our choice to stay in Marigot, it is the most stunning bay on the whole Island! St. Lucia has some beautiful resorts but the experience at Villa Pomme Damour is far superior to any fancy hotel! The accommodation is just perfect for a family of 4, the villas are quiet apart from the sound of birds around and the view is simply spectacular! Josee and Pierre were lovely, so kind and helpful, always at hand if we needed anything, we were sad to say goodbye after they made our holiday with their kindness and amazing accommodation. I would recommend you stay here if you are lucky enough to visit St. Lucia, you will not regret it, Oh and don’t be afraid to hire a car, roads are fine, just the odd pot hole. Hopefully we will make it back one day!…
This trip was perfect for us. The mix of things to do (trip to Hotel Chocolat, the Pitons, local restaurants with music, botanical gardens) vs. calm, quiet days by the pool with a book was the balance we needed. This vacation was Covid delayed so it was extra special and staying at the Villa Pomme D'Amour was fantastic.
An absolutely magnificent private villa! We stayed there 2019, 2020, 20121, 2022. Regrettably the owners have sold and my wife and I chose to try somewhere else this year. Beautiful, private and exceptionally comfortable.
We had such a wonderful time at Villa Pomme d'Amour! We rented out two of the apartments for a group of 7 adults. First of all, Josee was an amazing host! I had booked the Villa out a year ahead of time and Josee emailed me almost every month to let me know the newest COVID protocols in St. Lucia. She helped us book taxis and make reservations for us at the restaurants in Marigot Bay and for ziplining. She even helped us get a birthday cake for one of the nights! For the Villa itself, I would say the highlight of the stay was the pool and the views of the sea! So beautiful! We also enjoyed walking to Marigot Bay every night for dinner, it was a steep climb and dark at night but we never felt unsafe walking there. I would say be prepared for a lot of stairs when staying at Villa Pomme d'Amour but that wasn't a problem for us. The apartments were nice, we enjoyed eating all our meals outside on the porch. The kitchen was small but it had everything you could possibly need. There is no A/C but each bedroom had a fan and mosquito netting around the bed. I would highly recommend staying at Villa Pomme d'Amour and I loved having Josee nearby to answer any of our questions. Thank you Josee!…
What a view we had the pool to ourselves also a cove in the Caribbean to swim in! The owners could not have been more accommodating ! We loved the water taxi and eating at the pink plantation as well as Robat at the Chocolate hotel. Sunshine and beautiful views everywhere .
We booked Villa Pomme d'Amour directly with Josee several months in advance and from the first initial contact, Josee was so lovely and helpful to us - we felt taken care of even before we arrived on the island! When we arrived at the villa we were greeted with smiles, rum punch, some lovely bruschetta and one of the most beautiful views we've ever seen straight from our balcony. The first thing we did is take a dip in the pool which was glorious as it had the sun all day long. The villa itself has everything you could need for your stay - we were there for 11 nights and never needed anything more. Josee left us with a generous amount of initial supplies for breakfast to get us going and even provided housekeeping several times whilst we were there. Josee also sat down with us with a map and helped us picked places we wanted to see and visit, she booked restaurants for us and her lovely husband Pierre took us to the supermarket and even to the restaurants a couple of times! Both of them were always around if we ever needed something, even if it was just a friendly chat. The villa's location is absolutely perfect - it is only a 10 minute walk down a hill into Marigot Bay itself which has a small shop for essentials, beautiful views and a range of restaurants for all different palates (we highly recommend going to Roots 2, Massala Bay and Bay Grillz). The bay also has a lovely sandy beach right next to Doolittles which can be reached by a quick ferry boat ride. Though only a short stroll away, the villa itself is in a lovely peaceful area where all you can hear is the sound of nature and the crashing of waves. Just 5 minutes away is also a private cove - hardly anyone uses that beach so its ideal for a quiet day, plus there's some great snorkelling. We spent a long time in St Lucia and only did a few activites as we were so happy to just be relaxing at Villa Pomme d'Amour - the pool was perfect and the views were to die for but the best thing of all was what lovely company of Josee and Pierre. Thanks so much and we will be back again soon!…
We stayed at La Pomme D’Amour for 4 nights earlier in February. From my first contact with Josee I knew this was going to be a special place, with very special people. Josee was amazing- she made everything about our stay with them as perfect as possible. We emailed several times before our arrival and she made it possible for us to have our dates with them even though it meant swapping rooms. She contacted me regularly to confirm our arrival time and gave us perfect directions and a confidence booster as we were driving ourselves ( the car hire was also one of Josee’s brilliant recommendations). There was a wonderful rum punch and bruschetta on our arrival and Josee sat down with us to help plan our days and book restaurants for us. The apartments have everything you would need and the lovely pool was a welcome place to spend a few hours of down time. Everything Josee suggested was exactly as she described- I totally trusted her judgment and advice. And when we came to leave it was Pierre who drove us to the airport, a mine if interesting anecdotes and facts about their adopted homeland. All in all I can’t recommend a stay with a Josee and Pierre highly enough if you want a more independent and relaxed place to stay near Marigot Bay- very special indeed.…
We booked Villa Pomme d"Amour directly with Josee and Pierre having booked separate flights to St Lucia, with Thomas Cook! As we were then unable to fly directly from Manchester we were tempted to cancel and contacted Josee who was very understanding and immediately offered full refund of our deposit. We looked at other possible destinations but kept coming back to Villa Pomme d'Amour as it seemed to offer everything we were looking for and St Lucia had long been on our "list". We were able to find flights out of Gatwick and we are so glad we did as our stay at Villa Pomme d'Amour was just perfect. Communication with Josee was very straightforward and we were provided with lots of information before we arrived. We'd arranged for Pierre to meet us at the airport, and it was good to have places of interest pointed out to us en route and also a supermarket stop to pick up some provisions. Josee also provides all the basics and the welcome drink and bruchetta were a lovely touch. Villa Pomme d'Amour is a short distance up the (quite steep) hill out of Marigot Bay, the apartments are accessed by a number of steps so this would not be an ideal location for anyone with mobility issues. We stayed in the top floor, two bedroom apartment with amazing views of the surrounding hills and down to the small bay. There is a huge veranda with table and chairs (fabulous place for breakfast) and a small side veranda off one of the bedrooms looking down to the cove. It felt very private and secluded. Both bedrooms are tastefully furnished and provided with mosquito nets. There are slatted windows and doors (not glazed) which help keep the apartment cool and there are also ceiling and standing fans. We didn't have any problems with mosquitos during our stay, only saw one or two. It can be quite noisy at night but as this is the noise of the cicadas and tree frogs it's not the kind of noise to complain about. There is a good sized pool with ample loungers, the property was't fully occupied for some of our stay so we had the pool to ourselves each time we used it, although it wouldn't' have felt crowded if we had had to share with other guests. The pool is on the lower level surrounded by beautiful gardens with spectacular flowers. There is a path through the gardens to the cove, it's quite steep but well worth the effort, very private and great snorkelling. Josee visited us the first morning to give us more information about St Lucia and suggest places to visit. She also popped in each morning to check if there was anything we needed, book restaurants and arrange trips for us. (As Josee and Pierre live on the premises there are always on hand if anything is needed). We'd arranged car hire for a couple of days with a local company (Josee's suggestion) and this was delivered to and collected from the villa. It was good to be able to explore further afield and get a feel for other parts of St Lucia, it's a beautiful, lush island, quite different to other Caribbean islands we have visited. While it was good to see other parts of the island we were very happy that we had chosen Marigot Bay; it's idyllic. It takes about 10 minutes to walk down to the Marigot Bay Marina, the walk back is a little more challenging but there are taxis if needed (we walked!). There is a bank, small supermarket and a number of bars and restaurants in the Bay. We like to try different places to eat and there was a good choice, some are across the other side of the bay and provide small boats to ferry people across to the restaurants, loved this! The Marina is full of top end super yachts but there is a very relaxed casual feel to the bars and restaurants, and not too expensive. We had a full day private water taxi ($220) to explore the western coast down as far as the Pitons, this was quite a highlight. We also took a taxi to Ti Kaye Resort and spent some time at Anse Cochon beach, the beach is public but access is via the resort ($10 day pass which is reimbursed if you buy food at the restaurant, which we can highly recommend). Josee arranged both these trips for us, and also for a taxi to the airport. We had a wonderful week at Villa Pomme d'Amour, everything was just perfect; the villa, the views, the pool, the location. Josee and Pierre go above and beyond to ensure that guests have the absolute best experience possible.…
I don't often take time to submit reviews to TripAdvisor, but this experience was so wonderful; I feel compelled to do so. I have had the good fortune of visiting more than 45 countries worldwide, and this experience probably ranks in the top 5 I have journeyed to. First off, the location of Pomme d'Amour is second to none. We rented a car and explored almost every square inch of St Lucia, from Vieux Fort in the south, to Rodney Bay and most of Gros Islet in the north. Pomme d'Amour is nestled in the hills of the rainforest, with an elevated and perfect view of the sea, from the deck of your accommodation. Marigot Bay is situated on the Caribbean side of the island (west coast slightly north of center). It is the perfect launching point for any St. Lucian activity you wish to partake in. The drive to Soufriere and the Pitons to the south winds through the rainforest, and offers dramatic views of St. Lucia's pristine landscape and warm culture. The Hosts: Pierre and Josee are French-Canadians who built the property themselves from ground up, and their love for this endeavor is clearly evidenced by their attention to detail and quality. Pomme d'Amour offers a level of privacy rarely found. It is exquisite. There are four separate villas, but the layout of the property is such that you truly feel as though you have the place to yourself. They are warm and accommodating but not intrusive; always willing to offer assistance in helping to arrange reservations, or taking care of any needs to make your stay feel exclusive, comfortable, and like a home away from home. We stayed in a 2-br arrangement that was perfectly suited to our needs. Both beds have fine mosquito netting, which did not feel stifling; they slept cool and allowed us to rest comfortably each night. Pierre picked us up from the airport upon our arrival, and gave us a thorough rundown of the various towns we meandered through on our way to the property. We stopped at the local grocery on the way to the villa to pick up some wine, beer and various foodstuffs. Pierre and Josee's attention to detail allowed us to have a completely stress-free experience. Upon arrival we were delivered bruschetta, fresh grapefruit, and found the fridge stocked with eggs, butter, fruit juice and milk. We ate out each evening, but the villa also has a grill on the deck, gas range for cooking if you prefer to stay in, cutlery, plates, cooking utensils, everything you need to make the place feel like home. The shower had excellent water pressure, we were regularly supplied with fresh beach and home towels, and any amenities we needed. There are snorkeling masks and water shoes on site if you care to utilize them. There is a secluded and private beach attached to the property as you can see from the attached photo; it's about a 10-minute walk each direction through the lush forest. The property also has a beautiful pool, which our 6-year old daughter adored, numerous varieties of gorgeous wildflowers, and an attached greenhouse where they grow organic vegetables. Don't hesitate to book an extended stay here; just do it, you will not be disappointed. Recommendations for places to eat and enjoy while visiting St. Lucia: Ladera Resort to the south has a restaurant called Dapheen's or Daphne's, which offers unparalleled views of the Pitons. (must experience, had the seafood pasta and grilled seafood combination with calamari, octopus, shrimp, and redfish). The Beacon Restaurant is another option to the south with a view that is almost equal to Dapheen's and is a less expensive option; although it is buffet style and frequented by a large number of tourist groups. The Pink Plantation House is a gorgeous restaurant to the north of the property, just prior to reaching the capital city of Castries. It is a must experience, with grounds that are incredibly serene and picturesque. If you are looking for a traditional Caribbean breakfast of ackee and saltfish with fresh plantains and a variety of fresh fruit juice or coffee options, try Adeline's ArtCafe to the south, just after the Canaries Lookout point. You must call in advance, and Adeline will be there with breakfast ready upon your arrival. Fantastic. Masala Bay is located at the Marigot Bay waterfront (upstairs) within walkable distance from Pomme d'Amour, and offers exotic flavors, beautifully prepared. This is also highly recommended if you love Indian food, or even if you're not sure and want to try something new, it is superb. (highly recommend the chicken tikka app with their amazing chutneys, lamb masala, chicken or beef bhuna, and the amazing naan. I would highly recommend renting a car, as the terrain is steep and tiresome to trek back and forth. They do drive on the left in St. Lucia, which may be daunting for some who are unaccustomed to this, but there is so much beauty to explore on this island, it is highly beneficial to have your own transport to take advantage. Taxis are quite expensive. Josee will be more than happy to arrange reservation of a vehicle for you. My family and I would return in a heartbeat, and plan to do so. Josee and Pierre, merci beaucoup for the lovely hospitality.…
