This villa was amazing, and the host was incredible. She helped us arrange all of our transportation (her husband and his company), and they became defacto tour guides helping us avoid cruise ship crowds and finding the authentic things and places to see and do. The villa was absolutely perfect for our large group. It is so large, we could easily all gather, but it also allows enough space for people to have some alone time.

Villa Makambu is an OASIS in the hills of Marigot Bay. It was even more beautiful in person than I could have imagined from the photos to. Just wrapped up a fabulous trip with 4 of my closest friends and this place was absolutely perfect for us. With access to 2 apartments on one side of the large pool, we each had plenty of space. There are full kitchens on each floor so we also stopped to get a few staples on the way from the airport which turned out great since the walk down to the bay is VERY dark at night and steep most of the way. But the views!! The hammock installed on the opposite building was a welcome surprise. Note that the weather is near perfect in January in my opinion-warm during the day, but with a nice breeze and cool enough at night I wasn't miserable trying to sleep. It rained a bit and there were few mosquitos flying about, but the house manager provided citronella candles thoughout the property, mosquito nets on all the beds and a few of my friends were smart enough to bring insect repellent. The pool was a bit too cold to swim in this time of year (I know because I TRIED!) but we still enjoyed laying out on the poolside chairs. The house manager and her family were just amazing and accommodating, arranging transportation for us whenever we needed it and even helped us to plan our excursions. So sorry for late review Pascale & Nick. If you are looking for something more affordable and comfortable than some of the local resorts/villas, this place is AMAZING! Owners are top notch with communication and expectations. Pascale went out of her way to assist me with every question I had even before I booked. She made our stay an absolute priceless memory. Pascale/Nick allowed me to have my wedding reception at the villa. My wedding day ended up being postposed due to Hurricane Elsa. We were on lockdown at the villa all day. Given the circumstances of a cancelled wedding, we could not have had more fun at Villa Makumbu. We swam in the pool, played games, and had many laughs. Pascale and Nick waited until the storm settled and made their way through the debris to come check on us and make sure we were safe. The house keeper and maintenance man were both great as well. They whole property is kept in great condition. There was no AC in either villa but I personally was not bothered. The villas are very open and airy. Beds have bug nets and fans provided to move the air. The St Lucia rain forest sounds at night made sleeping so peaceful. Villa rooms/bathrooms were very nice and double shower heads were amazing for after my husband and I's dive trips. I looked at MANY villas/resorts for our stay on the island and I know this was the best price and location I could find. Do not pass this place up as it is a true gem. Thanks again Pascale and Nick for making our stay even better than we could have imagined. We will always treasure our stay at Villa Makambu and hope to visit again in the future.…

Pascale was a fantastic host!!! We LOVED every part of our stay! Covid safe and super easy! She had everything planned out and ready for us! The ambience, the pool, the rooms- simply put the property was beautiful! A huge Thank you to Pascale, Moses(who took great care of us and showed us beautiful parts of St. Lucia) and everyone else involved in making our stay amazing!!! I cannot wait to come back!!! Stayed here for couple of days and loved it. The views and space are spectacular. The pool area is all you need for days we didn't venture out. We didn't have a car for those days and just walked down to the marina (about 15-20 minutes) and it was doable. Carlos was great and very accommodating. Would recommend for anyone who wants serenity and to feel like they are living in the jungle. Would definitely stay there again.
