I came to Saint Lucia to experience the fantastic scuba diving. Vanessa at the dive center treated me like family and set me up for a wonderful week of stunning diving. The wonderful staff of the beach club and especially at Doolittle Restaurant are the kindest most wonderful people you could have the luck to spend your vacation with. Fiona made sure that I was quickly signed in to a quite clean comfortable room. Soeria, Yolanda, Fiona and all the wonderful staff made my stay a one of a kind experience. Diving with Captain Andre and masters Dylan and Junior was great. I cannot stress enough the sense of warmth and kindness that the wonderful people of Saint Lucia brought to my one of a kind experience. Everyone and everything about Marigot Beach Club and Dive Resort is a 10 out of 10. Thank you to everyone! I hope to see you all very soon!

One doesn’t have a lot of choice when booking a last-minute holiday at the end of November for early January, especially when twin beds rather than a double are required. However, I would class our stay in a Firefly Studio at Marigot Beach Club & Dive Resort as “fair +”. Marigot is about 1 hr 20 mins drive from the International airport. Access to the Resort is via a ferry which is free for residents, but one must be sure to tell Reception if due to arrive or leave at night-time and allow “island time” for it to appear during the day. The room itself appeared recently decorated and the beds were comfortable, although the kitchen was rather sparsely equipped: there was only a bare minimum of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils (after asking, unsuccessfully, for dessert bowls, we had to eat our breakfast cereal from large serving bowls!) The small shower room was more basic (one day the loo wouldn’t flush) but there was always hot water. Similarly, the free wi-fi was reliable. As we were well up the hillside (bear this and the steps in mind), we had a magnificent view over the bay from our terrace. It would have been useful if there had been written instructions for using the safe and TV in the room. Indeed, both our safe and telephone were faulty, requiring a number of staff call-outs and long periods without telephone contact with Reception. We would also have appreciated literature pertaining to the island eg how to get about (we only discovered there are (green licence plate) public (mini)buses on the island on our last day), local restaurants (not many!), comprehensive information about places to visit etc. Assistance from Reception was largely limited to making contact with agents responsible for the tours advertised on their wall, many of which were more suitable for youngsters (zip wires, tough hikes) or those inclined towards party boat trips. We were unlucky when we asked Reception to provide a taxi driver to provide a private day tour to the Soufriere area (Morne Coubaril Estate, Diamond Waterfall and Botanic Garden, Sulphur Springs “volcano drive through”) - Fred is best avoided but Samson (who did our runs back to the airport) was good. Marigot is at least an hour away from things to see, often on tortuous potholed roads. The island is not easy to get around without a rental car which also makes buying food provisions difficult. There is Pam’s Community Store about 15 minutes’ “slog” away, at the top of the steep hill opposite the Resort, and Promise Supermarket is another 15 minutes and another hill further, but they sell little other than basic dry goods and no alcohol. One needs to be able to drive to visit a “proper” supermarket like Massy’s. The Resort’s swimming pool is extremely small, as are the two private “beaches”; swimming/snorkelling in the bay is underwhelming. A heavy palm branch fell on me whilst I was on the beach, luckily deflected somewhat by a sun umbrella so that no major injury was sustained, but it could have been much worse. The Resort’s shop, gym, and spa were not open, massages could not be arranged, and despite being advertised on the boards, the restaurant’s specials nights did not occur. Luckily, we had more to fill our time as our main reason for visiting St Lucia was to do some scuba diving. We did this via Dive Fair Helen (DFH) who have a dive shop on the premises. Although the Resort website states that they do dive/accommodation packages, no details are given without emailing and there is no link to DFH from the Resort website; one has to search the internet and contact them separately to obtain information. One can also hire kayaks or book snorkelling trips at the dive shop.

We booked this place via the internet for an all inclusive day pass on as a cruise. The woman who checked us in was disinterested and did not know how to process the pass. We waited a half hour for her to figure out what to do with us. Also, calling this place a beach club is a stretch. There is a little beach with some tired old chairs. The environment on the whole is pretty and a lot of people were diving. The water was clear and there were cool fish so it could be great for that, but we were there for the day resort advertised on their site. The biggest failure, by far, was the service. We appeared to be turned over to the Doolittle’s restaurant for the all inclusive bit. We returned to the bar several times for beer and eventually our orders were filled. When it came time for lunch, they kept pushing back the time it would be open from 11:00, then to 12:00 and ultimately 12:30. When they finally begrudgingly seated us, they simply ignored us for about 30 minutes. Eventually, we just got up and left and found a taxi to return us to our ship for lunch. In the end, for a total cost of over $150, the two of us got three small beers each and a pair of 20 year old chairs on a public beach. We recommend others considering Marigot Beach Club pass on the day pass.

Such a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff. We came to celebrate our anniversary and it was really nice. They even decorated our room for our anniversary. We spent most of our time touring and exploring off the resort but our time here was so nice and relaxing. Room was clean, they could use some minor upgrades but overall we were very satisfied.

Very bad experience. The resort needs a total upgrade, broken amenities, exposed plumbing of the pool, the whole experience was such a waste. Staff may seem unpleasant only because they are not being paid a fair wage. There are staff making $20 ec dollar a day. Do not use the tip jar and try to tip the staff in their hands where you know they will get it. The food was fairly good for a small kitchen, the chefs were very knowledgeable in explaining the night's meal. The owner is always at the bar breathing down the necks of staff. After speaking to a waitress we got to know the reason they show no interest in their work. Below average pay plus the service charge and other tax we are being charged does not pass on to staff. So they're working without incentives. I don't blame the staff for a horrible experience but placed the blame solely on management. This is sickening! Slavery was abolished centuries ago.

Hello Anselmam, Wow, a review filled with error , there are no staff working for $2.50 an hour which is equivalent to 20ec per day. Not even close! I do not know who you are, you cannot be a guest who stayed here. You speak of having a horrible experience yet you wrote a review on Doolittle's restaurant, Below is what you wrote Good Food My meal and pizzas were really good. Thank you Chef M (forgot full name) for going above and beyond to ensure we got something to eat minutes before closing time. The bartender we appreciate you, good job on the drinks, thumbs up. The restaurant wasn't a bad experience ...

Spectacular resort if you want real St Lucia hospitality. Rooms are extremely comfortable and spacious with huge balconies and great views. We had a dive package that included all meals and a massage. Food is wonderful and cocktails at the bar are fairly inexpensive and good.

My partner unfortunately booked us in at this hell hole The only thing good was when we got out of there 1 day earlier We would of left the same day we got there if we could You can spot the owner he is the drunk at the bar every night The food is disgusting and totally over priced All the amenities are old and dilapidated The sauna is locked and shut along with the wellness Centre the steam room and everything else The rooms are dark and dingy The only things that eat well are the mosquitoes The pool is tiny and green You know when it’s laundry day as the drain from the laundry overflows down the path and into the restaurant The beach has live wires and 90% of the deck chairs are broken We got all the money we spent on the hotel part but lost a load of money on the flights

Hello Passport08170064853, I am not sure how to understand your review, however I am going to address it for the benefit of the reader, there is no drunk owner at the resort, to say the food is disgusting is your opinion however we are sorry you didn't enjoy our food. the Sauna and steam room is temporarily closed yes due to Covid regulations, it will be up and running soon. Everything else is closed? like what? We have no dark rooms on the resort, we will look into brighter lighting. The pool is never green, perhaps the green color paint on the outside but not on the inside for sure. The beach has no live wires, why would someone say such a thing. The beach is public and has plenty of beach chairs, which ones you found broken? we don't own all the beach chairs on the beach, for that matter we just got 30 beautiful ones in and they are looking very lovely.

This resort is in an attractive, secluded bay, some distance from the main attractions in Saint Lucia. My room was quiet and comfortable with a fridge and a good fan unit that kept me cool. It had beautiful views across the bay. It was clean, though there was a (harmless) insect on one occasion. The porter removed a similar (harmless) insect from my friends' room (I left mine in peace). The furnishings in the rooms had some marks and would benefit from an upgrade. Some minor items were missing. I would also have liked blackout blinds and mosquito nets on the doors and windows. There were great opportunities for sunset photography from my balcony and from the restaurant, Doolittles. The food in the restaurant was generally good. The pina coladas were excellent. However, on one occasion, the chicken was undercooked. The breakfast was overpriced, so we bought breakfast items from a supermarket in Castries. There was a regular free ferry service across the bay to and from the car park. The staff were helpful, particularly the porters, who carried our luggage up and down the steep flights of steps to our rooms (there was no lift). However, reception closed at 3.30 pm. One thing I particularly liked was that when we asked the hotel to book a water taxi to take us on a trip to the Pitons at sunset, the hotel did not add a significant mark-up to the taxi charge (to compare prices, I asked elsewhere, and the alternative would have been more expensive). The resort beach is good, though rather small; and I was not pleased to be offered drugs more than once by local dealers. But overall, this was an enjoyable place to stay.

Came here with my pregnant wife and really wanted to like it given the perfect location. The following lead to a very poor stay during an amazing vacation: 1) Found a roach in the kitchen (see below). Wanted to chalk up to what is essentially a bungalow but 2) We asked for room service MULTIPLE times and during a seven day stay and didn’t receive any. Had to ask for towels. 3) The first 3 days we only had freezing cold water. Went to the front desk to ask what was going on and essentially they hadn’t turned it on 4) Following them turning on the water we went an entire evening and night WITHOUT water. IT SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. This was a real concern with a pregnant wife and should be taken into consideration particularly if there are children 5) Rude encounters with staff. Given that the ferry to the location you basically have to rely on the Doolittle resteraunt. They close basically when staff chooses to go home which meant one night we had to basically argue with a rude waitress for a plate of cold pasta at 9:00. The kitchen closes at 11. St Lucia is probably the most beautiful island in all of the Caribbean and we ended up leaving the hotel as much as possible and salvaging our trip but PLEASE consider how much a clean pleasant stay means to your trip before booking.
