Sean was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with his excellent English among the best I've encountered in China. The food was great, the views obviously spectacular and if you want hikes in the area Sean knows them all. I'd recommend the guesthouse to anybody staying in Tiger Leaping Gorge. Text him beforehand for details, and he can be reached from the start in a day fairly easily if you're fit.

Sean’s place is located right smack dab in the middle of the canyon, with easy access to a number of terrific trails both down to the river snd up to the edge. The food is some of the best I’ve had in a guesthouse or hotel in China, and Sean’s knowledge of the area proved indispensable. The level of care and attention that has gone into making this place as private, clean, and pleasant as it is truly inspires. This guy deserves any business you can send his way. Very reasonably priced for what you get. Highly recommended.

We stopped here for lunch and everything was delicious. They had a western bathroom as well (nice treat!). Don't miss "Sean's Fries" - they're shoestring potatoes tossed with a touch of ginger and garlic, lightly battered and fried into little nests. So good! Huge menu with lots of interesting drink options. The owner speaks English and is a very charismatic guy. They also organize day trips and can recommend good routes depending on how much challenge you want.

After a long hike from Halfway GH, we were greatly surprised by the food provided by the friendly Sean. All homemade with local organic ingredients. Had the burrito, veggie soup and the cheese dumplings. Felt like heaven after days of heavy oily food! Thank you Sean!

We self-drove into Tiger Leaping Gorge, so stayed here for a couple of nights at Sean's for some treks around the area. Great carpark across the street. And felt like a great location to base yourself for full and half day hikes, and Sean was always ready to provide tips and advice, and helped us organise a local guide. The food was also fantastic. Tip: Don't just stick to the western menu – try local! It was quiet because of the travel restrictions, but with it's abundance of common areas, I'm sure it's a great place to meet fellow travellers when things are back to normal. Overall a great stay and would definitely stay again if we go back.

We stayed here from the 2-3 of January 2020, during low season, so there was almost no one at Sean’s. Even though they provided everything for us and helped us with everything we needed. The food was great and Sean helped us book a morning bus to Shangri La. The rooms are perfect, equipped with great heating and burning hot water. Completely recommended.

After a planned trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge was cancelled at the last minute, we found very good reviews about Sean’s guesthouse & got in touch. He and his family were amazing - they organised transport into the gorge, fantastic accommodation in a beautiful location, great food & an excellent guide. Thank you!!

Saw Sean's on the internet and was reminded of a stay here a number of years ago which might not be useful for anyone wishing to stay but a bit of history. Shaun's is the indigenous guesthouse left in the area with the very aggressive takeover of accommodation in the area by outside business interests. He and his delightful daughter Lilly offer more than a bed and a meal with so much knowledge and pride in the local area. I have a wonderful memory of Lilly guiding us down to to the river from the guesthouse on our arrival and sitting with Shaun on the balcony overlooking the river with a cold beer after showing us around some lesser known sports in the mountains. A place to be treaured and I hope will continue. More than just a place to sleep.

Everything was fantastic - big beautiful outdoor spaces with the most amazing views. The food was delicious. It would be good for couples or groups. Sean and the family-run the guesthouse and can tell you some stories about the gorge and its changes over the years.

Sean's guesthouse is the most beautiful of the gorge! The place is authentic (wooden house) with a great terrace overlooking the mountain and offering a breathtaking point of view over the stars at night. Sean himself is an amazing man, welcoming you with really good food and his smile. The room was basic but bed is really comfy. We Totally recommend this place.
