The hotel located in the most amazing location, in front of the lake TOYA. Breath taking view from the lobby glass. Hotel staff are well trained and helpful. We stayed in a Japanese style lake view suite, its the end room of the hallway with the amazing lake view. However, the bathroom is way too small, dark and outdated, it's beyond horrify! Shocking feeling.
Hotel has a public bath with the lake view, also a private bath can be book at the check in, cost $35 AUD for 50mins, its worth it, will recommended. However the spa treatments are very average, its very difficult to communicate with the staff due to language barrier, not recommend.
Hotel breakfast and dinner are incredible. Many options, tasty and fresh ingredients. However, there are not enough of staff for cooking, often found empty plate with no food, and not enough staff to run the floor, to clean the dirty dishes and supply the fresh one out.
Honesty, the hotel has so much potential, but definitely needs an urgent renewal. Until then, this resort would not be my first choice to go back.

We stayed at this Onsen resort back in August 2019 when we did an overnight trip to Lake Toya in our 10 days Hokkaido trip. We love the floor to ceiling window where you have a panoramic view of Lake Toya, and a front row seat for the fireworks at night. We also love the top floor outdoor onsen especially early in the morning to admire the lake view while soaking in the hot tub. The buffet breakfast offer a wide selection of Asian and Western dishes. We also enjoyed the dinner buffet during our stay.

There's not much to do outside of the resort as the town itself has a few shops here and there, and that's about it. An overnight trip was more than enough for us. We took a shuttle bus back to Sapporo and the staff all lined up and greeted us on our way out of the driveway.

We stayed at the resort for 3 days & 2 nights from 8th to 10th April.
Overall stay was great.

Below points that we’d appreciate:
*Great onsen, its very clean. One of the best we had.
*Breakfast had enough varieties for us especially a family with children.
*Room was clean especially as we expected.
*Staffs were friendly and very accommodating.
*Dinner was fine. Thank you for a special sashimi plate on the eve before we left.
*Omotenashi was done nicely and appreciate for the kind attention when My son fell down into fountain pont and he got his shoes and clothes wet. Your team had these items dried when we arrived in our room.

Some points we’d like the management to improve:
*A signage/blocking line to be in placed in front of the pont if the fountain is off to avoid any accident.
*Kids yukata were only provided on the following day. It should be there upon arrival
*Dinner menu should be different everyday.
*Hand sanitizer should be placed near massage chair.

Thank you for great service and for sure we will come back again.

We arrive at 4pm and was welcome by Onsen staff to lead us to parking and check in by sitting at a lounge serving drinks and some small bites.
Room we stayed was spacious, with a private Onsen in room and a small living sofa area to relax.
I can dip in to the hot water with mountain and lake view whenever I want to.
Dinner was included and we picked Kaiseki dinner and it was a full and nice dinner.
Overall, I am satisfy with the room, view and service of this resort.

We literally splurged for a night stay in this resort. Cost us quite a bomb in our opinion.
There was nice view, fireworks view from the comfort of our bed was awesome. Ample space in the room as well.
However dinner was soso, we were abit disappointed with the selection, didn’t taste as good as we had expected.
Wifi was also weak in the room

One thing to rave was definitely the rooftop open air hot spring bath. The view was breathtaking. Was regretting why we didn’t explore the rooftop spring bath first.

Once in a life time experience!

I treated myself to a lake view room with private onsen. It was fantastic, beautifully decorated and well thought out. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. For those staying in the higher end rooms, there was free coffee and drinks during certain hours. There was buffet dinner and breakfast which is not really my thing. I find the quality of the food suffers from too may options. However, I highly recommend this hotel.

I was expecting a ritzy experience considering the price. I booked the most expensive room and got a room on the top floor. HOWEVER! there are so many problems I don't know where to begin.

1) found a used toilet plunger inside the hot tub of my room. I definitely did not soak in that tub. Why the (expletive) is there a used toilet plunger in the bathroom??

2) Room was extremely dusty, every surface. It seems as if house keeping doesn't do a good job of wiping down the surfaces, there was a thick layer t of dust on most surfaces.

3) bugs, bugs, bugs. Bugs of all sorts. Ants, flies, mosquitos, beetles and spiders galore. I don't know what happened but there were a ton of bugs in my room.

4) overpriced key replacement charges. Most hotels replace lost keys for free, or at a reasonable rate, these conmen wanted 11,000 yen to replace a missing keycard and you can't check out without returning all your keys. This is daylight robbery!

Food was also mediocre at best, there were flies flying around the food, how unsanitary.

I definitely Will NOT be returning.

I really think the selling point of this hotel is the view of Lake Toya from the lobby. This is an older property that has be renovated. The rooms are spacious but really still needs more updating to be more modern, the chairs in the room are very dated. The buffet for dinner and breakfast are great, and make sure you get a table next to the huge windows in the morning to enjoy the view! The onsens on the top floor were nice, especially the outdoor one to see the Yotei Mountain. I felt like the room rate was a little bit expensive and there's nothing to do in the area, but otherwise, this is a great choice to stay at for Lake Toya.

The property is one of the most famous and luxury resorts in Lake Toya area. You can have great buffet with incredible scenery just in their restaurant, and enjoy a extremely unique rooftop onsen as well. Moreover, a panoramic view of Lake Toya which you can easily get from the room is simply stunning. Overall, highly recommended!

There’s only one thing that can be improved a bit , which is the gathering place of shuttle service could be stated more clear!

The lobby of this resort is beautiful and grand with the floor to ceiling glass looking out to Lake Toya. There is an excellent sound system in the lounge providing high fidelity sound. All the rooms have a view of the lake. The staff were friendly and attentive. We were less impressive with our room furnishings and the bathroom is dated. The onsen facility is very good, especially the outdoor one with an infinity edge lake view. The buffet dinner was excellent with a huge variety of delicious Japanese and western dishes. The breakfast though was not nearly as good, especially missing good coffee.

The coach going to/from Sapporo is a standard coach of around 40 seater capacity. The seat space is standard (not the luxurious spacious type). It will be good to book separate seat for your toddler just in case. I have the same issue when I need to change the booking once. The website did not offer any email for such change and there is no response to our query as well. In the end, we make another booking instead.

Are there buses from the hotel to Shikotsu Toya National Park silo observatory and Usuzan Ropeway?
Answer from Lim
Singapore, Singapore27 contributions1 helpful vote
I think there’s no public bus. The common mode will be the taxi, self drive or book a day tour that will fetch you there. I strongly recommend a day tour which normally includes meals and guide. The cost is reasonable. Google for day tours at Hokkaido and you can compare prices and itinerary.

They require names of all guests as they include meals; unless you have other arrangements w them.

This is a suggestion using the rail and does not cover self drive or engaged coach diver options. From the hotel you can book a taxi at the reception to go to Toya station. At the Toya station you can get ticket for the Super Hokuto Train that will directly bring you to Hakodate in about 2 hours. Check the details of the Super Hokuto train by googling for super Hokuto train. If you can’t get the tickets at the Toya station (in the evening as the ticketing office is closed) you can still pay the train conductor using only cash when you board the Hakodate bound super Hokuto Train. Prices and seat cabin for free seating and designated seatings are different.
