This review is my own opinion of our 9 night stay as a mature couple staying in a water villa. We arrived on the island very early around 10:30am in the most awful weather. The boat transfer men did their best to keep us safe and dry and the transportation to the hotel was organised. On arrival at the hotel there was a lot of us and the hotel don’t make you all queue for your room allocation but have a system where they seat you in a reserved area if reception and greet you with a cooling towel and a drink. From there a host is assigned to you and they ask you to complete your paperwork. If you have a hotel voucher then print this off as it makes it easier. As we was a travel agent holiday we only had our booking so this was confusing them and they tried several names before they got the right one for us. Now I had emailed to ask for a change of Villa to a sunset Villa which the host did not seem to take as his role to assist us with. So hotel reception kindly sorted this. However it meant the room was not ready till 4pm!! Our host had then disappeared after sharing his number with my husband advising him he would check in over what’s app throughout our holiday and to message with any questions. We never heard from him again and he never replied to us either. When we went to reception to ask any questions they asked if we had a host but we stated his name and said we hadn’t heard from him since day one and they just smiled. We returned to reception at 2pm and the room was ready but by then the next flight had arrived so we was no longer being treated like a new arrival and was just told we could not sit in the reserved area and had to stand and wait for a cart to take us to our room but we had no keys!!! The cart took us but no host so we had to learn the hard way that you get locked out on the balcony as the door automatically locks behind you. Anyhow this was the worst bit of the holiday. Our sunset water Villa was amazing. You do find that many only do a few nights on these moving to beach villas for the rest of their stay so we had several neighbours and made some lovely friends as your patio area isn’t very private. Our Villa 363 had a patch that the turtle liked to graze on several times a day plus was a passage for the sharks heading for their feeding time so we saw some fab sealife. Yes it is a bit dated but this didn’t bother us one bit. The downside is that you do share the patio area and we could foresee issues if you had neighbours who smoked or played loud music but I have every confidence the hotel would find a solution and a room move. Our cleaning was amazing and did some lovely towel art displays on 2 occasions for us. He kept the mini bar topped up at all times without us having to ask. I did not get his name as they do not wear a name badge like the rest of the hotel staff. Being in a water villa you are allocated the southern star restaurant. This is amazing. The food is simply the best if not a little cold at times. We sat in the same area each day meaning we had the same waiter Pramod each time. He could not do enough for us and was so attentive to our needs. Rachel the maitre-die was always smiley and interested in your day and how you was taking time to have a laugh with each and everyone of the guests. The views are amazing and does not feel like an all inclusive restaurant at all. We ate in the Italian A la carte one night but simply did not feel the need to eat elsewhere as the food was excellent in southern star. We choose the snack menu at the coffee shop for lunch except on the days it was raining and they also do a high tea for all inclusive guests too. We tried all the bars except la Tropicana with the golf bar being our favourite. The bar tender there works tirelessly on his own most the time. It is the most relaxed atmosphere and you feel like you are genuinely in the middle of the island. We enjoyed the relaxing evening entertainment from the amazing Duo band in the coffee shop and was even privileged to hear a young talented guest be invited to sing with them. The evening entertainment in the main bar was good at times and we enjoyed the live band and the fashion show with the guests taking part in a miss world type show. The pool was good and the fact the swim up pool bar is in the all inclusive even better but we did not feel the need to go more than twice. The area can be noisy with families so as a couple most choose to stay on the beach. We went on the one trip to the local island which I’m sorry to say I would not recommend. The guide was great and it was interesting to hear the history of the island but there is just nothing to see. We all spent our free time watching the local lads playing football after visiting 2 small gift shops with items that have been on display for many years. The trip lasted 90 minutes. Would we return I am not sure but I would definitely recommend this hotel as the staff (apart from the host) cannot do enough for you. It is a long way to travel from the U.K. but if it is pure relaxation you want with absolute peace and quiet then book a water Villa and relax. We did not partake in the trips but heard these were fab. We did not use the free kayak included with the all inclusive package which was fab and but did not use the sports facilities but these looked amazing. We did not have children with us but the kids club looked like you wanted to go yourself as an adult. We did not try the spa as not the cheapest. Oh and I did go to the medical centre and the dr was very knowledgable and only €50 for a consultation and prescription cheaper than at home with a free follow up too. Overall despite first impressions a definite 5* holiday. The staff are truly amazing and a credit to the resort.…

We stayed for 2 weeks at the water villas for our honeymoon. The views and water are beautiful, the room and furniture were nice but could be updated. Ranjith was our house keeper and did a great job, room was always clean and he wrote out happy honeymoon as well as happy birthday for my wife on the bed. Rachel works in southern star and was amazing, greeted us everytime we went there and recommended a lot of things to do on the island. She was always a pleasure to chat with and was always in an uplifting mood. Water sports are a little pricey but as all inclusive you get an hour free canoe everyday. All in all great experience.

We vacationed as a family at Villa Park from August 1-31, 2023 and were very pleased. Thank you to the hotel management and staff for our great vacation! This is our third time coming to this hotel in the Maldives and we see how it gets better and better every year! This year the kids club has been opened, the restaurant menu has been improved, many villas have been renovated and you can see how hard and inspirationally the hotel team works every day! A big thanks to general manager Abdulla Fathhey for his personalized attention to our family and for brilliantly conducting a well-coordinated orchestra of ~1000 person hotel staff. Mister Abdulla is a great charismatic leader who has gathered a stellar team of hospitality professionals around him. And with this team they are on their way to becoming the best 5* resort in the Maldives! I would like to thank our personal host Sana from the bottom of our hearts. She contacted us in advance via WhatsApp, clarified our accommodation wishes and selected a very well located villa. Every day we received from her a schedule of interesting events of the day, and our 7 year old daughter was delighted with unusual pleasant surprises. Sana, thank you very much! It was a pleasure to resolve any issues that arose with Sana as if by magic. This lovely staff member is on WhatsApp 24/7 and knows how to take charge of any issues. We admire her for working with us all the days of our vacation! We wish Sana success and career growth! She has a wonderful potential that her management really appreciates. A huge thanks to L&D Manager Ranier for his personalized attention and his tireless diligence and excellent work to improve the hotel infrastructure! We would like to thank for the amazingly delicious food in the main restaurant Executive Chef Raminda Premaratne, Executive Sous Cheff Santhanu. Many thanks to the fruit maestro Al Hadish. He was very friendly and caring! Thanks to the wonderful cooks Nihar and Monir. They cooked deliciously and were very welcoming, sociable and created a great mood throughout the day. Our family was carefully looked after by Warren, Rasika, Razzen, Mayaad, Ahmed and other wonderful waiters in the main restaurant throughout our vacation. Thank you so much for your professionalism and friendliness! They not only looked after us every breakfast, lunch and dinner but also created a great mood. This year's pancakes were especially delightfully delicious thanks to the efforts of the wonderful cook Amith. Also a big thank you to cook Anuwar for the delicious salads and pleasant fellowship. Thank you barista Ramesh for delicious coffee, hospitality and the ability to create a good mood. Our daughter was delighted with all the staff and the leader of the kids club! Thanks to Judith, Saushan and the other lovely staff whose names we unfortunately did not write down. A heartfelt thanks to room boy Moosa. The room was perfectly clean. Moosa was very pleasant and friendly to deal with. And a special thank you to him for the wonderful surprises. Fresh flowers, artistic decoration of the room and punctuality in everything. It's nice to see someone who does his job perfectly with a smile and maximum hospitality. My wife has been to the SPA several times and was delighted. The prices are high, but the quality of massage and SPA procedures corresponds to them. Thanks also to the general manager of the SPA for his alertness and personal attention. My thanks to all the hotel staff with whom we interacted but whose name I have not mentioned. Thank you from our entire family! Our experience. We stayed with husband in this lovely place from 16.09-13.09 It is quit big island. If you are afraid be bored on Maldives, you’d should choose this island. It had lots of activities vary day. However despite its size you will feel very comfortable and careless. When we arrived we were met by nice and very hospitable girl Dhanya. She takes care every day about us, she send early in the morning activities program and find out if everything is fine. Also she assist with all questions that we had, about my Birthday, about rent bicycles. Every tasks were solved very quickly. We stayed in water villa 372 and used to go to the southern star restaurant. I am very grateful to our waiter Alam he offered order lobster for my Birthday and organize private area for celebration, also he was very attentive and offered us nice wine, because we don’t have all inclusive. Rachel and manager Zakir were very attentive and treat every time very carefully. We are grateful every guy from this restaurant. The main thing that island and nature could be perfect, however service could be poor. But during our stay service was excellent. Villa Park has amazing beach area, with fantastic water color. It is very comfortable for swimming. If you like snorkeling you will find nice reef near Italian restaurant . In my opinion villa Park gives good choice for every taste. You could find private area or place where is a lot of people and life is full swing. If you don't like walking a lot, take bicycles and choose villas closer to the restaurant. Villa park worth seeing because of its amazing Turquoise Lagoon. It was our 4th time on Maldives, however we were impressed.…

Ww have just returned from 11 nights on this wonderful ialand celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. The island is beautiful and the staff really make it a fabulous experience! A special thank you to Dulal, who is so helpful in finding the perfect subeds by the pool or at the beach. He is always smiling and happy to help. We had some lovely chats wirh him and he gave us some little gifts of a coconut, a plant and shells which we will treasure. I hope he sees this post and knows how grateful we are. Tara the bar manager, Ranjita and all the staff are helpful too and always keen to help, A special thanks to Smita in the Vani bar, she is the nicest young lady. We were on a Tui all inclusive package which covered everything you could wish for and a complimentary Al la carte meal and well stocked mini bar as well as a free boating trip. We enjoyed the low key entertainment as background music, especially the Duo band who were really good. The food was very good and had something for everyone, the chinese and indian buffets were great, there are a lot of spicy dishes generally, but other choices too. The salads and fruits were fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return one day.…

We had a wonderful holiday on sun Island as a family. Everything is very clean and all the staff are really friendly, especially towards the children. The kids club is great! There is a new programme every day and the staff are very caring. You can leave your child there with a clear conscience and your child will have lots of fun. A big thank you again to Saushan who always took great care of our daughter! We would travel to this island again and again.
