Hornsbury Mill offers charming four star guest accommodation in a beautiful rural setting, just a short drive from the coast and a number of local tourist attractions. The converted 19th-century mill has a popular restaurant serving traditional English cuisine to both residents and non-residents. More formal dinners can be enjoyed beside the working water wheel, whilst our bar menu offers you the chance to dine by the lake accompanied by the curious resident wildfowl or sit in our cosy lounge. With ten guest bedrooms, private function rooms and a license for civil ceremonies in the romantic corn loft or lakeside gazebo Hornsbury Mill is a popular wedding venue year-round, as well as hosting intimate anniversary and birthday parties, special occasions, conferences and corporate events. Please note that our restaurant/bar close at 4pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays with no evening service provided.

Sadly we weren’t staying here but Warners at Cricket St Thomas, but we formed an escape group and booked in for lunch! Best thing we did during our break, the staff we met were all smiles and couldn’t have been more helpful, the ones we didn’t meet in the kitchen did a super job in creating a splendid lunch. We’ll done, I’m sure we’ll return !

This is a lovely old hotel ideally situated to explore the Jurassic Coast. We booked two rooms - one for family whose inclusion in the holiday was a complete surprise! Staff joined in the conspiracy and the surprise worked perfectly. Although a conversion from an old mill, all amenities and decor were modern and clean. The food was very good indeed. We ate ther for 3 out of our 4 nights. Rooms were excellent and attractive, reflecting the character of the building. The staff were all simply lovely - they were the icing on the cake of a fabulous break!

Nice setting, China needed attention (tea stains in cups, black marks on saucers) Some cakes were ok. Sandwiches were lovely. Outside surroundings beautiful. Would go back for a meal rather than afternoon tea.

Dear Larks86 I am sorry that your afternoon tea was not as good as it should of been, I am not sure what went wrong with the cakes, maybe personal cake preferences. Our afternoon teas are always very popular and if not eaten at the time they are taken home to enjoy later. I will make sure that the comment regarding the stains on the teacups and saucers is passed onto that department. We do look forward to welcoming you back for a meal in the restaurant in the future and maybe you can try one of our great deserts that we offer.

To be honest, I stumbled across this place because I messed up a booking with a nearby hotel! But they rescued me and found me a bed for the night. Not just a bed, but a fantastic room, and a super meal. I had chance to stroll around the grounds, which are Devine. The service at reception and in the dining room was warm and friendly. I felt more like family than a guest. A special mention to Audrey too, who on just her second day working there showed that she has a bright future in hospitality. I plan to come back soon for a mini break with my wife.

We had to find an hotel quickly as we had a sudden emergency with an elderly relative living near by. Very satisfied with the accommodation, particularly with the food in the restaurant, the white bait was the best I have ever tasted! Sadly had no time to explore the grounds. Glad to have discovered this gem, as no doubt we will be returning to the area in the future
