upon check in you need to deposit 1000 mop then on check out date they will get 400 mop for cleaning just because they will tell you that the room is dirty! In out side we put all the trash in the garbage bag we collect all the trash in the toilet ang in the areas that have. i booked a suite room for my 2 kids to be more space to move around.then when the house keeping manager check it he says that its dirty! its not our thing to do the sweaping the floor and vaccum really the room we almost clean it.what they want to expect we will sweap the floor? its not out thing anymore! we know how hard to clean a room so we helped to clean it.but then the house keeping staff insisted that i need to pay 400 mop for it.so i have nothing to do then also the front office staff is not accomodating they dont believe us they just let them to charge me for that and so i pay 400 mop just to go out and get my remaining money in the hotel. me and my husband is so unhappy and we will never recommend this hotel to our friends and families here in macau. we live here for long time and we can say that this is the worst ever hotel and worst employees ever. this is a plan that is the room is not so clean we charge and less in the deposit! i believe this hotel dont change the linens every day and dont clean that much and they dont have enough staff to clean the room properly so they need to do this. all the staff is not good even if you will ask another towel the staff who gave us is ungappy to serve us.. all the staff their is not happy in what they are doing. very bad experience! we will surely not coming back!

Manager Hang very disrespectful,, he said that he don’t care about the guests and it came right out from his mouth. There are lots of rooms having dinner gathering but they are not being notify and only us being charged . That is so unfair! Because we only have dinner and others will leave after 11 but still they go to our room without any warnings and told us that they will charge us. How about the other rooms who was also having dinner gatherings? They did not even bother to check?????? We have talked to other guests in other rooms leaving the hotel and said that they have also dinner gathering in 8th floor but they are not being notified and they are not charged! We left the hotel right in an instant after they notify us to be charged. We have a very bad experience in this hotel and will tell all our friends not to go to this Rio Hotel and will also tell our other co-workers about our very bad experience in your hotel! We will make sure this experience will be passed to all the people we know! And we will make sure that none of us will ever come back to this hotel ever!

supervisor Leo is very rude. he don't listen, he is just insisting what he want and think is right even if it's not. The room attendant is also rude and don't follow instructions, we told her to pick up the rubbish in the room but instead she just gave us a rubbish bag and leave. Tho I recommend Ms. Yan of Front Desk she listens and empathize guest's feelings (at least she makes our day at ease)

I would have given it 5 stars if not for the ridiculous opening hours of the gym/swimming pool. Can you imagine a grand hotel like this and the gym/pool only opens 10am-1pm, and 330pm-930pm. Many who want a morning work out is absolutely denied! The gym/pool should be opened by 6am! or latest 7am. (sigh, shakes head). Fortunately, the service personnel in the hotel make up for it. Many filipino workers, and all very polite and hardworking!

We were upgraded to a superior room, which was very roomy with double twin beds which were very comfortable, good, clean ensuite. Breakfast was okay, food wise but catered mainly to the Chinese guests, the stations were all over the dining room, so had to really look around to find them all. The dining staff needed to be shown how to smile and welcome their guests. Reception staff were polite and helpful, but the two staff that stood out, was the young man who showed us to our room and also pointed us in the right direction to the Old Town area and the young lady on the door, who explained the shuttle bus system to us. We stayed for 2 nights, didn't go near the Casino area so can't comment on that.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay here. Edmund who showed us to our room was extremely helpful and kind and explained everything we needed to know about the room and hotel facilities. The room was big, confortable and very clean. The breakfast was great with lots of choice. There is a casino in the hotel and a swimming pool too which is a great place to relax after a busy day visiting Macau. Great value for money in Macau. The queues for check in and check out were quite long.

Clean and nice rooms with staff with good intentions that aren’t trained enough. Aside from the lobby that reflects the chinese admiration of fake art deco BS, the facility is poor... - pool and gym are close to none existent - slow and small elevators - casino that lacks variety and caters only to their chinese clients that only plays baccarat. Staff were rude and offensive. - They say they have a lobby bar, but it was literally a corner under their stairs that was un-manned and depressing. - Their “convenience store” was only 3 vending machines. - clogged shower drain - sink that makes noise throughout the night - mattress and pillow are the worst I have seen in a hotel at this price range. Well at least the sheets were clean. - Wifi- had to accept their terms and conditions every time I unlocked the phone. - TV remote control barely worked. - Loud AC. Knowing that hotel is generally expensive in Macao, if possible, I would recommend to pay a bit more and stay at the better hotels. Rio isn’t worth it. I hope that Rio Hotel sees this review, and change their tasteless cheap interpretation of things. Rather than ruining your customers’ expectations, just close your bars, gym, store, and focus on your room. Because your rooms can be saved. Rest of your facilities are ugly, and deceiving. And train your staff better!
