My 6 year old son and I had a lovely 4 night stay at this chic hotel at the Fisherman's Wharf. We loved our room, which gave us a view of the sea from our balcony, where we often sat for meals. The room was clean and eco-friendly, though the carpet had a tendency to have a musty smell if the AC wasn't turned on. The thought of staying at a hotel with no pool seemed daunting at first, but then I realised there was so much to see and do around the Fisherman's Wharf, so that didn't matter for long. There are lots of attractions nearby: the Science Museum, the Arts Museum, the Grand Prix museum, among other attractions- all a walk or bus ride away. The hotel does not serve breakfast to guests, which can be a bit of an inconvenience and the restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel is overpriced. On the bright side, though, you can order food from the room service menu (available in the room in both English and Chinese) or from a variety of Chinese and other types of restaurants using food delivery apps; and have it delivered to you at the hotel entrance. There are also restaurants of all kinds nearby to cater for those looking for local cuisine as well as those with finer taste. One thing that was a real sticking point for me was the impersonal nature of the service at the hotel. The staff were generally aloof and made little or no conversation with guests. There was also a Portugese waiter at the restaurant on ground floor whose unwelcoming demeanor turned us off from ever wanting to dine at the hotel's restaurant. However, I must say that the housekeeping staff were wonderful and even changed our sheets on one of our nights there upon our request. The bell boy was also wonderful and really helpful during checkout. Overall, the hotel is a scenic place definitely worth staying at. Do bring your camera and comfortable walking shoes.

Rooms are relatively large. Views over the sea are nice. Easily accessible from the Macao ferry if you’re willing to walk about 15 minutes. Fantastic Portuguese restaurant on the ground floor! And your stay will also give you at 15% discount at any of the restaurants in the Harborview hotel. Plus, you can also make free use of the gym and swimming pool facilities in the Harborview hotel

Exactly what I was looking for!
Staff are friendly and informative. The view from our balcony is just beautiful, a lot better than what we expected. There are plenty of nearby places to eat, and we did not encounter difficulties finding transportation to our destination.

Everything was incredible and it was a wonderful visit. loved the balcony with amazing view and the atmosphere was lovely. Fresh environment. I'm glad I found this place in Macau such a beautiful place. Some of hotel staff are extremely welcoming. Some are not. Better choose high floor rooms. I would certainly stay here again.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the casino, the hotel is perfect for a leisurely vacation. Very beautiful classical hotel, here to get a peaceful and comfortable holiday. Has a beautiful sea view balcony, friendly staff. I hope to stay in this hotel again next time I come to Macau.

Very comfortable rooms with balcony and seaviews. Ours even got a bathtub. Well designed combination of historic architecture with modern facilities. The reason we actually chose this hotel was its proximity to the Ferry Terminal. That's a 10 Minute easy walk along nicely developped Fishermans Wharf. For a quiet stay away from the casino bling-bling.

Beautiful hotel.Beautiful room. Very classy and flash. Lovely room and toiletries. Lost a star because I specified a non-smoking room but I was given a smoking room next door to smokers. Otherwise perfect.

Room Tip: Make doubly sure you get a non-smoking room if this is what you want. Get a high floor.

Rocks Hotel earns its credit more than just a mid-size hotel. The British/ European style is classy and elegant achieved by high quality decorations and furnishings. Though the hotel is opened for 10 years, you can tell it is extremely well-maintained and professionally managed.
The staff team is absolutely professional. They provide great services and never fail to charm you with their smiles. You feel you are staying in a mansion with your good friends around.
The rooms are perfect in every sense. Personally, the highlight is a lovely clawfoot tub in generous size! The bathroom amenity and toiletries are just wonderful, yet still remind residents to keep a green environment living. The balcony with outdoor furniture is a great feature.
For location, it is tucked away from the major casino area. But with 10 mins walk you are back to the game. I would say this hotel is a hidden gem in Macau.

Unusual the hotel is modeled on a dolls house. Sited at the end of Fisherman's Wharf; the hotel has magnificent views from each room, particularly so as each room has a great balcony, the hotel is perfect for photos both inside and out and a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are large extremely comfortable and the bathroom is exquisite having a beautiful Victorian bath tub. Unfortunately the roof bar was closed when we stayed but hopefully will be open on our next visit. OH great staff, very helpful

Are all rooms with sea view? I mean aren't they all facing ocean front?
Answer from maloneranger60
Albany, New York141 contributions35 helpful votes
No, not all rooms face the harbor. Some have city views and some have wharf views. I have stayed there a few times over the years and always spring for the extra charge and a Wharf View room. Lovely way to start and end your day, sitting on your veranda looking out over the harbor. Very nice hotel, great staff and service. A little out of the way in terms of central Macau and the big casinos, but there are more than a few places walkable from the hotel and you're just a short taxi ride away from the action.
