The location is very nice with a view on all the port Amenities are high end , the personnel kind and available but there is a big But The room : I got a room which is 9 sq meters (nine , it’s not a typo) at 430 euro (387 first night without breakfast which originally they wanted to charge me on top) Basically in the room (this size would be illegal in some countries ) u cannot move , if u open the window u have to stay on the bed The issue is that this type of rooms at 430 is a joke and a rip off . So check carefully and don’t go if they offer small rooms (unless u like a prison experience )
This spectacular property oozes character. Stayed in a Corsario room, with lovely views to the port of Ibiza. The breakfast was perfect, as well as dinner at the Corsario. Perfect for summer nights. Also take aglass of cava at the cocktail bar, or try some local vermouth at La Bendita.
What a wonderful journey we had at Torre del Canonigo! From the beginning to the end, we experienced something beyond our expectations. Both the hotel and the restaurant were truly excellent. On the first day, we were welcomed with the finest Spritz we had ever sipped in our life. The association with the Rosemary from the garden of the hotel was very original and appreciated. The swimming pool and lounge areas of the hotel have the most beautiful views on the old town of Ibiza also called « Dalt Vila ». This area of Ibiza is definitely a must if you visit the island. It is a timeless place to visit for lovers of history and culture. You can notice the prints of the Phoenician, Arabic and Catalan culture in the quaint streets of Eivissa. The hotel itself embodies this mix of influences and fits perfectly into this enchanting setting. For those who are big fans of old stones like us, you will probably also fall in love with la Torre del Canonigo. During our stay at the hotel, we were sleeping in one of the three buildings of the hotel, called Il Corsario. This name was given because of the history of the fortified town that was often under attacks in the 16th century. If you pay attention to small details and decoration, you will see the effort that was made to recreate this atmosphere of pirates and corsairs while bringing all the comfort of modernity. The view from our room was also astonishing. Admiring the crossing of the boats at sunrise and sunset was priceless. The view on the restaurant terrace in this same building was an absolute delight. We especially remember our last night at the hotel where we had an enchanting dinner. We want to compliment the chef for his melting ribs and the typical desserts from the island. We also want to highlight the quality of the service. Our waiter Sarah, the sommelier and the barman helped us achieve the perfect wine and food pairings. We were very curious to taste good Spanish wines. We were not deceived at all! We have notably tasted a white Rioja and a Jerez sweet wine, both delicious. It is hard to finish this critic as there would be so many other things to praise in this hotel. But there is a legend that says that in old town Ibiza there is a treasure buried under the fortifications, accessible through one of the many secret passages of the city. Well, I think it’s fair enough to say we found this treasure and it's name is la Torre del Canonigo. A huge thank you to the staff of the hotel for this travel in time and the excellent quality of your service throughout our stay. We hope to come back! Soon! And last but not least, la Torre del Canonigo reminded us one of our favourite French novels: The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. This novel talks about a treasure quest and also a Mediterranean island. We found this coincidence too big to not be mentioned. So let’s end this critic with a poetic note with an extract from this masterpiece of French literature: « He advanced several paces towards the point whence the light came, and to all the excitement of his dream succeeded the calmness of reality. He found that he was in a grotto, went towards the opening, and through a kind of fanlight saw a blue sea and an azure sky. The air and water were shining in the beams of the morning sun; on the shore, the sailors were sitting, chatting and laughing; and at ten yards from them, the boat was at anchor, undulating gracefully on the water. » Valentine & Capucine from Paris…
