Detailed Reviews
Spent a skiing weekend with the family. Everything was great about this hotel, but the service of the staff was exceptional! They helped with every little thing, from carrying equipment to getting me diesel when my car ran out of it. Physically, the hotel is modern, the rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and with lots of options. Chairlift directly to the 1800 base is 100m from the hotel. On the way back, you can come back by the same chairlift, or ski all the way down to across the road from it. Renal shop in front of the hotel.

Spent 4 days here on a short ski trip to Baqueira. It is located in Tanau, which is not really in the Baqueira area, but it is great if you're looking for a more quiet area. There are lifts about 100 m down the road, where you can also park your car for free if you don't feel like coughing up the 25ā¬/night fee the Hotel charges.
The staff is super friendly and very attentive. They even gave us a bag with a few treats for the journey back.
Good spacious rooms overlooking the mountains could be a little less hot, but I guess that's the thing with mountain hotels.
The SPA is paid for (20ā¬), but it feels great after a day in the slopes, especially the outdoor jacuzzi.
Only had breakfast in the meal plan, but the food was great, even though the variety wasn't much.
Overall, a great hotel up to the Melia standards.

We enjoyed very much our trip. The location is very good for skiing, close to the ski lifts and the staff is very professional and nice. Breakfast is very good. After skiing, you could have a snack and a drink playing billiard.

We choose an apartment looking for more space and Meliaās quality standards but it didnāt happen. The apartment was in a terrible shape, dark, full of black flies, with a broken mirror in the bathroom, no phone to call reception, the cleaning lady forgot all the dirty sheets... when we explain it at reception we were told to book a better apartment next year. How am I supposed to know the good apartment? If I book through Melia is because I understand the would rent high quality apartment no what we got.
The swimming pool is too small, no place for parents......
Breakfast was always too busy and too little staff.

The hotel could not be located better. Unfortunately, the quality of the breakfast and restaurant is rather poor. Also, the common areas where taken over by an unruly crowd of children from the next door apartments which made it impossible to enjoy a bit of quiet after a day of skiing.

Ā· Decor maybe 5 star but facilities are 3-4 star. Maitre in restaurant was rude on occasion. Desk staff and bar staff friendly and helpful but drinks were served in incorrect glasses and all gin and tonics served with ice and lemon (not lime, orange, cucumber etc depending on brand of gin). Although this may sound picky, this is now fairly basis and when you are paying 15 Euros for a G&T it should be served correctly. Bar area was tiny and restaurant was also very small and although fine for breakfast, not a place where I would choose to have dinner. This is particularly difficult when there is only one other restaurant nearby otherwise you have to drive.
Pool and spa dark, small and basic. Facilities in our room were poor. Fridge did not work, no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. No english channels on tv and could not use the DVD player at first as there were no leads in the back of it. Peeling paint on the walls. Toilet roll holder had fallen off the wall and remained on the floor for the first three days. No plug for the bath so it couldn't initially be used and when a plug was delivered the jacuzzi in the bath did not work.
Boot room and lockers were very basic indeed, Matted flooring was ripped and damaged, the lockers had to be opened and locked by the reception staff as no keys were given out. We have stayed in 4 star hotels with far superior facilities. Sorry but this hotel was very disappointing.

I was very disappointed. The personal is not really friendly, almost strangely unfriendly for spanish people. Breakfast for 5 star hotel very poor. And, please, don't eat from room service or bar menu (is the same). Whatever you take is almost awful. (we had soup, pasta and pizza). Was not eatable. And they are in serious need of at least "refreshing" the hotel (renovation). In the pool peeling paint and everywhere in general.

Just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay at this gorgeous property. We received a warm welcome at reception and were instantly made to feel at home. This was my first time here and will definitely not be my last. I came with my sister, who has stayed a couple of times before, and was greeted like an old friend.
The staff are charming and English is widely spoken. They were attentive to our every need, and we appreciated all the little extras, from our welcome platter of macaroons, to a birthday cake and greetings for my sister, and the unexpected pleasure of send-off goodie bags for our journey home, containing sandwiches, water, cookies and fruit. What a lovely gesture - it was like being seen off by family!
When returning from a hard day's skiing, it was so lovely to come into the beautiful and homey lounge for hot drinks and sandwiches and snacks.
The beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern and spotlessly clean, equipped with all the toiletries you need, and very high quality towels. The maid service is excellent and they make sure you don't run out of anything.
Just steps from the hotel, you will find both ski rental and lockers, and a chairlift to take you up to a massive choice of pistes. This has to be one of the most convenient places to ski from in the area, but it is the staff who make it so special. A big thank you to Pedro and his team for making this such a memorable holiday. I can't wait to come back.

Fabulous hotel in amazing location with unbelievable skiing for all abilities. Informal luxury with attentive and cheerful staff. We got trapped in a mountain restaurant and the doorman came and found us in the Hotel Porsche. Nothing was too much trouble. Snow bar during the day with complimentary drinks and sandwiches, soup and pastries (with popcorn making machine for the children) was an unexpected bonus.
We would never stay or ski anywhere else now!

Positives include a really good breakfast, friendly reception staff and close proximity to the ski lift. But this hotel simply isn't worth the money. It's at very best a 3 star hotel but it felt out of date, the first room we had was terribly stuffy and I can't comment enough on how it just didn't warrant either it's star rating or the money per night that the hotel charges. All of the staff were very helpful so this goes in favour of the hotel but it doesn't take away from the establishment itself. Also, the 'included' snacks in the pool room are quite poor and very basic - great if all you want to eat is sugar. This is my first negative review on trip advisor, written with the hope that the hotel gets the update and price adjustment that is seriously needs. (Final note - excellent waiter on the main bar, really friendly and pleasant guy, all of the staff were good in fairness)

Hi!
In MeliĆ” Royal Tanau you can find a snack bar open all day long and a restaurant a la carte open during dinner time.
Close to the hotel, in Tanau, there are a couple of bars. The closest restaurants are in Baqueira or in the other villages of the valley.
Hoping to see you soon in Tanau,
best regards.
