The rustic Borgofrancone : the charming farm house within the natural reserve of Pian Di Spagna. An antique restaured rustic situated in the upper region of the Lake of Como, in the middle of Pian di Spagna's beautiful natural reserve. It is the ideal location for a relaxing but fascinating vacation. The breathtakingly beautiful location is situated within a property of 30 hectares rich in promenades, woods and lakes boasting a scenery and faunal heritage of international renown. The cottage Borgofrancone has become a green farm house and it comprises several detached flats: each of them fully equipped and furnished with refined taste. The location of ''ben-essere'' where you can feel at home and you can spend your free time taking strolls or a ride walk within the natural reserve. You will also have the chance to calmly discover villages and authentic traditions one by one. Finally, when evening comes and drapes Rustic Borgofrancone in its velvet cloak you can enjoy the pampering attentions from the spa staff.

We enjoyed a great lunch with "Sciatt", "Antipasto del borgo", "Pizzoccheri", and the most astonishing dish: "Tagliolino al missultin". The price is right for the level of the food we enjoyed. The staff is very clever, providing suggestions based on customer's preferences.

The description of from booking.com is a little different then what the facilities provided. The room was average with an air condition. The pool and spa area was excellent but weird rule to wear a head cap while swimming. The check in was not smooth as the young man gave us wrong information about the private beach and times for the dinner. It was weird that they stated that their restaurant would be open but it was not. Excellent breakfast and service from the last dinner we had there. Really needed a car to get food for lunch and dinners as we didnt know when the restaurant would be open, even when we asked.

Location in a large pleasant green area (farm/park) almost on the shore of lake Como but without a view of the lake. Access is through a narrow driveway from the main road – easy to miss. Open space parking. The grounds have good places to lounge or for small children to play. A complex of rooms in a few buildings – most very modern – minimalist design. Reasonable size, comfortable beds, very quiet There is AC but during our stay it was not working. The only windows are French doors – thus privacy and open views are not compatible.. Very little place to put toiletries in the bathroom. Limited amenities. No tissues, q-tips, no shaving mirror; no hooks; no bathroom scale. Limited electrical outlets – surprising in such a modern design. No coffee/tea in the room. A small fridge. Reception is open from 9 till 18 then must call. Staff is very accommodating. Great breakfast and dinner!

What can I say about this place, from the moment we arrived the service was first class. We were warmly welcomed, showed to our apartment....which was beautiful over looking the fields. We were taken on a tour of the grounds (which were superb) and then shown to the restaurant where we were offered fresh breads. The food here I can't compliment enough. The staff were wonderful and open to conversation. For lunch we had the sharing cheese/meat plate.....all locally sourced products some home made. Dinner was so good we went back the second night. Breakfast was wonderful. We arrived and the older lady that greated us didn't speak English, but we all communicated and understood one and other. She was lovely. Very attentive and spoke slow enough so we could understand. Fresh bread/Meats/cheese/yoghurt/jams/cereals. There was somthing for everyone. The spa was very well kept, a good size hot tub, sauna, steam room and pool. This was a lovely area to relax. Especially when it was cold and raining out. There are bicycles for hire free of charge, and after speaking to the staff to get directions we took a bike and followed the cycle path to the lake. Beautiful views and cycles paths all the way from the hotel. I believe in high season, there is a little bar open and a pool table etc. There are sun lounges to the rear of this area.plenty of benches and picnic spots. This place would Be an ideal location for people wanting to explore lake Como. The ferry port is only 15minutes away and was 11euros for 2 people and the car to Bellagio. We also had wifi in the room.
