Upon check-in to the grand, we were greeted with great front desk staff and champagne. The rooms are comfortable and very eco friendly; the rooms ac shuts off when there is no motion in the room and for some reason all the lights in the room turn on at 0830am. The pools at the grand are lovely but the pool water in january is cold and not many people were swimming around. The pool bartenders and servers are very attentive. Other than the pool and the beach, there are not any activities at the grand which are free; yes they have parasailing and jet skiing (for a fee) but they do not have bicycles to ride around or leisure activities that I have participated in at other resorts. Really, all there is to do at the grand resort is wake up, eat, lay by the pool or beach, eat again then sleep. It got boring towards day 3 honestly. I asked if there were bikes I could take to ride around the resort and I was told "no they are only for the bike tours". I asked if there were other activities and instead of being told the activities, I was told to download the iberostar app and view activities there. For the amount of money spent for seven days, I would expect more leisure activities and service. The entertainment staff was great, but again, its activities around the pool and beach. I would have liked to see more leisure activities. The food was great and the service at the restaurants were top notch. If you are going with family and kids in their 20's+ I recommend going to maya resort rather than grand, there are more activities and people their age.…
I had a four night layover planned in the budget end of the hotel but decided to pay and upgrade to the Grand. Everything is so much better. Branded drinks, great food, excellent and cheerful staff who seem very keen for you to enjoy your stay to the maximum. It was quite busy but there’s still enough sun beds to go around at the main pool. A quiet pool is also available which is beautiful and as it’s name suggests, quiet. A choice of a la carte restaurants are available in addition to the main buffet which was excellent. A shame about the seaweed along the beach. The tractors were removing it as best they could but it’s too much for them to manage completely. In the evening there was always top musical entertainment at the bar and the adjacent main atrium with air conditioned indoor garden was a lovely place to sit and enjoy a drink. Very well equipped gym as well should you feel the need. Recommended.…
Our visit to the grand was nothing short of incredible. The beach, grounds, pools, and restaurants are all incredible. The best part though was the staff, they truly made the experience divine. Our butler Luis Lopez was the kindest person and always made sure we had everything that we needed. I am so grateful for his service this visit!! All people were truly great!
My wife and I have been before and really liked it. This time we took our college age kids, and were concerned that they would be bored. We were really happy with the activities that gave us all things to do together. We were also surprised by the number of college kids down with their parents for them to hang out with. We had family time and they still had a great time with kids their age.
My husband and I just returned from a trip to this fantastic hotel. We have been to quite a few all-inclusives before but this has to be one of the best. The food was great, especially the buffets, the room and the view were amazing (we had a superior ocean front suite in building 70) and the service was outstanding. Our favorite part by far was the quiet pool. We have never been to a hotel that had something like that and most days it felt like we had a private pool and cabana all to ourselves. Outstaning!! I have to give a shout-out to two people were instrumental in the perfection of our trip. The first was Gerardo, one of the butlers/concierge who sit on the first floor of building 70 and always greeted us with a smile on his face and a willingness to tend to any of our needs. He always asked how our day was and did we need anything. Loved talking to him! The second person was Mirna, the pool concierge whom we saw every day at the quiet pool and around our building. My husband has some mobility issues and shortly after we arrived we realized that walking around the resort, even with the use of the golf carts, would be difficult. We saw Mirna and she was instrumental in getting us an electric scooter for my husband to use during our stay. She saw the process thru from start to finish and was a god send. She made sure that the scooter was delivered to our poolside cabana quickly and efficiently. After that she always stopped by where we were sitting every day to say hello and to see if we needed anything. If it weren't for her and her assitance, I know we would not have enjoyed ourselves as much as we did. Thank you to her and all of the other workers at the hotel who made our trip so memorable.…
"We were on the third floor of our building and it was great-quiet, clean and a beautiful view of the water."Read full review
"If light sleeper, don't choose a room number starting with 72. Not much value in an upgraded room, since regular suite very nice."Read full review
