Iberostar Paraiso Beach is part of the Iberostar Playa Paraiso complex of 5 resorts. Paraiso Beach and Paraiso Del Mar are basically one resort with two lobbies. All facilities, including the pools and restaurants are shared between the 2 resorts. Paraiso Lindo is a bit nicer and they can also use the Paraiso Beach/Del Mar facilities and restaurants, which, I think, makes it harder to get restaurant reservations at Beach/Del Mar. Paraiso Maya and Grand Paraiso are nicer still with the latter being adults only. All 5 share the shopping mall. The food in the shopping mall, coffee, burgers, tacos, candy, ice cream are all included as part of your package. The resort is between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, which has the advantage of being closer to the airport and reducing travel time coming and going, but it's further from Tulum and Chichen Itza if you want to take an excursion there. The resort and beach are both clean and well kept. We didn't have a seaweed problem, which can be an issue in the Mayan Riviera. The pool is very large and winds down the middle between the Beach and Del Mar buildings, with some areas fairly quiet and others with lots of activity. Like everywhere, people try to reserve chairs at the pool and beach before breakfast. We found that the resort is large enough that we never had too much trouble finding 4 chairs. The buffets are pretty good - there was always something tasty available. The food quality is a step up from Iberostar in Punt Cana. I think that's generally true in the Mayan Riviera compared to the Dominican Republic. We also ate at the Mexican and Brazilian restaurants and the Star Rock Cafe and enjoyed them all. We wanted to try the Japanese but couldn't get a reservation while we were there. We also all loved the taco restaurant in the mall. We had lunch or a late afternoon snack there several times. My teens also really enjoyed the burgers at the beach grill. The patties were thin but freshly made. The bars have their standard brands plus some popular alcohol brands available for drinks. Their standard brands are definitely weak, which I don't mind, because I can drink tropical drinks all day without getting drunk and there aren't a lot of drunks wandering around, but if you want more kick you can ask for Bacardi or Smirnoff instead. There are lots of activities available and if you install the app you can see a schedule. My teens really enjoyed the daily water polo games and some other sports activities. Wi-Fi coverage around the resort is excellent and fast enough for streaming, it's even decent at the beach, and there are no device limits per room. We took a snorkeling excursion with Dressel Divers who have a kiosk by the pool and operate from the north end of the beach. If you want to take a snorkel excursion, you can trust them to get you there and back and look after you. We had some concerns over weather conditions and what trip to take and they were accommodating and made an effort add an extra van to the daily Mayan trip so we could join in. The room was kept clean and the fridge was restocked daily. The beds could use new mattresses - mine definitely slopped to the centre of the bed. The rooms could also use a bit more drawer space. My biggest complaint would be the shower. There was enough hot water but the water pressure was more like a drinking fountain than a shower. All things considered, I'd definitely recommend this resort for families and I'd consider going back or possibly upgrading to Lindo or Maya for a couples trip.…
We spent 5 nights at the Paraiso beach and our stay was amazing!!! Beautiful hotel and facilities with excellent food. The buffet for both breakfast and lunch is very diverse with delicious fresh fruits and products. The restaurants available at night are great too. We tried the following : the Brazilian which is perfect for meat lovers (you also have a nice buffet to accompany the different meats served at the table), the Gourmet (you need to book when you arrive but it's worth eating there!), the Italian (slow service but worth trying too! Good pasta and buffet. No need to book in advance), the American bar which looks like a bar but offers a nice menu and the Mediterranean one (great for fish and seafood) dorada! Note that if you dont like fish, it may not be for you. The facilities were great : big room, huge pools with both a quiet area and one dedicated to the sport activities organized by the best team ever!!! Many thanks to Manuel who made us feel special. And a special thanks to Miguel for his smile and positive attitude. We had so much fun! We took part in the aquagym, zumba and some special games at the pool. Thanks to the fitness director as well for making the zumba lesson at the beach accessible to beginners! The shows at night were amazing too. We saw the disco night, the rock night + a funny show organized by the event team led by Manuel. We had such a great time!!! Thank you to Felix at the front desk for welcoming us in a friendly and professional manner, and allocating a nice room before the official check in time! As you can understand, the staff really makes the difference. They are all really customer oriented and very friendly. We can only recommend the Paraiso beach and we would definitely stay there again! …
We stayed over Christmas and New Year. On turning up at the hotel we were met by friendly staff and a welcoming drink..The booking in process was easy and we were escorted to our room.Throughout our stay the staff were truly excellent nothing was too much trouble. The buffet food was also extremely good particularly on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve..There were a number of themed speciality restaurants which provided fine dining. We stayed for 11 nights so were allowed to attend 4 of them within our inclusive package. The room was well presented being typical for this type of hotel. The cleaning staff did an excellent job serving the room each day. The swimming pools were large and like the grounds maintained to a very high standard. If however you wanted a seat next one of them you would have to get up early as by 9am at the latest all were covered in towels..Overall I cannot fault the hotel or its staff and would highly recommended it to others..…
This is a beautiful resort, staff was wonderful. We loved the beach (although waves were rough some days) and always found loungers either early morning or mid afternoon- forget about it around lunch time. Pools were great, loved the pool bars! Tried lots of delicious drinks, Miami Vice was a fave. We had lunch a few times at the steakhouse, once at the italian, both were good. Went to the staekhouse for dinner, it was fantastic! Make sure to go to the Japanese restaurant, delicious (book on your first day, it fills up fast). Buffet was always good, lots of options. Guacamole was awesome! Try to check out the mall (not alot of shopping, we found a couple things) but the tacos are great and the crepes are amazing! There are golf carts to take you around but it is not that bad to walk everywhere. (Maybe 8 min from from front lobby to beach). Entertainment was decent, we only saw 2 shows. There were flamingos to see and peacocks everywhere. Closer to beach there were lots of Coaties, so cute! Also parrots and other birds to see. I highly reccomend taking the $5 shuttle...you can go right to Playa del Carmen to shop but if you ask (and maybe give a few more dollars) they will take you to Iberostar Tucan where you are allowed to stay the day with your wristband. We spent half the day at the beach, saw monkeys on the trail, had lunch, then walked half an hour down the beach into Playa for the rest of the day. (Shuttle takes you back, 5pm and last at 8pm) Our room was good, clean, fridge stocked with water, pop and beer. Good shower pressure, 2 sinks. Your typical resort room. Overall, we loved the place! Great beach, pool, food and value for your money. We did 2 excursions (Chitzen Itza with Mayanan caremony and Cenote and snorkeling with sea turtles and a cenote). Both were fantastic!…
Iberostar had everything we needed. Large resort but they have trams that pass randomly that will gladly give you a lift. We spent 10 days over Christmas and New years with kids in tow 15-12. We got conjoining rooms so the girls could have their own space which was nice. Rooms always clean and bar fridge full. We are beach people and enjoyed the water here. Lots of options for dinning with Japanese being our favorite, don't miss out and book early. Would recommend for fun family resort.
