The estate is very well located in an amazing privileged environment where you will enjoy a unique and relaxing quietness, away from crowded tourist areas. Nevertheless its location will allow you to easily reach many interesting spots such as the nearest village Ca’s Concos , the towns of Santanyí and Felanitx , as well as the modern marinas of Cala D’Or and Porto Petro. And since it is located in the southwest coast of the island there are many wonderful beaches at close range, specially the beautiful beaches of Cala Mondragó and S’Amarador, which are Specially Protected Natural Areas.

We stayed at Sa Galera for 10 days. Unfortunately, our room was not cleaned properly or at all when we arrived. Toothpaste residue in the sink, hair on the tiles and thick layers of dust on the furniture. Even after complaining, the room was not cleaned properly. The pool could not be used because it was not heated and therefore very cold (approx. 17 degrees). There were no toiletries in the bathroom other than soap and shower gel. No cream, no disposable towels, etc. The shower hose is very rusty and the cosmetic mirror has rust spots. According to the hotel description, the bar should be open until 11 p.m., but this was not always the case. There were no employees in the hotel at that time. Only a room with a self-service refrigerator was available. All in all, breakfast was sufficient but there was little variety and the scrambled eggs were very dry. In such a small house, the hot breakfast dishes could also be prepared fresh and individually. Unfortunately, the restaurant was only open from Thursday to Sunday. There is no restaurant in the immediate vicinity that you can reach on foot. All in all, definitely not a four-star hotel. However, I would like to highlight the friendliness of the staff. Comfortable country hotel in an idyllic location, here you like to walk in the morning and evening through the complex or outside on the dirt roads. The rooms and especially the beds are very comfortable, the restaurant offers a terrace with beautiful views so that you can already enjoy the surroundings for breakfast. A very special place was central to a very special holiday... Not your average hotel : rural, totally relaxing - great for slowing down & recharging. You'd need to hire a car (which we collected at the airport) and the drive is about 25 minutes but easy enough. Using this wonderful hotel as a 'base' we simply took a leisurely drive to nearby towns / ports / markets in the morning & chilled by the pool in the afternoon (there are plenty of sunbeds, so no 'fighting' or having to reserve them! There's a small, super-friendly bar - great for a light lunch or coffee. Breakfast is simple but absolutely fine (help yourself) and dinner is available from Thursday-Sunday at similar prices to eating out in town, so we did this most evenings : again, totally chilled & every meal was great. The room was great with our own sitting area / sunbeds outside (these rooms are only available if you book direct, which the hotel encourages and they will beat booking.com prices) - Maria will handle everything and she was great : don't hesitate to get in touch and she'll answer quickly. All the staff were lovely. The place feels like it was once a farm (there are horses in the field who like to say hello!) All in all, a great find & we'd happily return!!!

An all-round enjoyable stay in Sa Galera, from the beautiful old house with its outdoor facilities to the furnishings of the rooms. Important: the rooms have heating, which in our case was very advantageous due to the weather. The restaurant offers a diner some nights, we took advantage of this offer and were delighted with the delicious food. Definitely a reason to consider this hotel on your next Mallorca holiday is the host family, who met us from the welcome to the farewell friendly, gave tips for excursions and was always available for questions. Hotel Sa Galera is a wonderful country hotel, originally a 13 century manor house retaining much of its original character enhanced by a heightened sense of the style and taste of the furnishings.
The management and staff are caring, warm, personable and attentive. Maria made us feel immediately welcome and made recommendations for restaurants and beaches as well as other useful information. The hotel kitchen was excellent providing large breakfasts and good menus for lunch and dinner. The rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean and the swimming pool was a joy.
The ambiance of nature with its utter peace and only bird song was a restful contrast to every day life and added to the magic of Sa Galera.

If you’re looking for a sense of the real Mallorca, away from the package holidays, this is the place for you. The locally hired staff are fluent in German, English, Spanish and some French. They treat guests like family and provide fabulous suggestions for excursions (e.g. boat rides to nearby coves and beaches) from reception. Spa therapies are also available and reasonably priced. Breakfast is served every morning buffet style with an ample selection of fruit, cheeses, wonderful fresh bread and a good coffee machine. The pool is fresh, saline based not heavily chlorinated and located under olive trees in the garden. This hotel suits: hikers, possibly cyclists (though breakfast begins at 8:30 AM which may be late for some wishing to avoid the hottest part of the morning in summer); families with older children (it was great for our 8 and 10 year olds but would say babies and toddlers might fare better with more facilities catering to that age group); as well as singletons and couples looking for tranquility. There is a small snack menu available throughout the day and a Mallorcan restaurant experience opens over the weekend in the evenings Friday to Sunday - would suggest booking in advance as numbers are limited. The paella is delicious, clearly cooked with great care and must be ordered at least a day in advance. Otherwise there are some lovely restaurants near by in Cas Concos. We came back home revived and relaxed after our wonderful stay at Hotel Sa Galera!

A really nice house, very quiet, a top maintained facility, nice staff from reception to housekeeping. The restaurant is lovely with great breakfast on the terrace, light lunch and regional dishes for dinner. For us it was especially important to have some peace away from the big and impersonal hotels. Here we were absolutely not disappointed. Every day there were small personal messages giving me information around the house and events nearby. The rooms are air conditioned, the beds are first class and next time we will gladly try an apartment. We are very enthusiastic and will definitely come back.
