This is a lovely hotel. We have stayed in many hotels over the past 8 years since retirement, always AI. This is up there with one of the best. We where in room 575, I had paid for the Star Prestige package when booking. Room was lovely, a little noisy at night from the entertainment at the hotel opposite. To be honest we enjoyed sitting on our balcony and listening to their acts. It always ended bang on 11 and after that silence. Hotel entertainment itself was OK, a bit hit and miss, although the Elton John tribute act was as good as I have ever seen, don’t miss it. The hotel had some serious elevator problems when we where there, when working the design is great. When it’s faulty it’s a nightmare. To their credit they put a lot of effort into getting it sorted and by day 3 of our week it was fine. As I said we were Star Prestige. Worth every penny extra in my opinion. The rooftop pol area did get very busy, very quickly. By day 2 we decided to use the reserved area at the main pool and did so for the rest of the week. A free pour bar with Prosecco, wine and all spirits. Including Tanquery and Absolute. Every mixer known to man and beer. You do have to suffer the very noisy pool aerobics every day, but it’s worth it. Aside to management, does the volume really need to be that loud for the aerobics ?, I think not. Every meal at the buffet restaurant is wonderful. Wine by the bottle, and decent wine to. Star Prestige area is furthest from the food, and has no outside seating area ?, makes no sense and needs addressing. Sandwiches at the rooftop area are the same ever day, and not that good. Given the wonderful breads and cold meats on the main buffet I’m amazed a little more effort isn’t put into that areas food . Same for the Star Cafe, waste of space, put some more effort into the food selection there. Present selection is the same as the rooftop area… very poor.

The Iberostar Grand Sabila in Adeje is a lovely hotel. We were staying on a half-board basis with the Star Prestige upgrade. When we checked in we were greeted on arrival with a welcome drink of our choice (Cava, soda or beer) and were invited to sit down whilst the reception staff issued our room keys and took our luggage to our room. We were then given a guided tour of the Star Prestige facilities - this was a lovely touch. When our room keys were ready we were taken directly to our room, shown some room features and were gifted a bottle of Cava and cake as a gesture for our anniversary. The hotel is located in the Fanabe area of Adeje, which is rowdier than areas such as Del Duque. The surrounding bars and restaurants are very 'Brits abroad', and we were located right next to a 'Fun Pub' where t-shirts were not a requirement for entry. Hotel: The hotel itself is beautiful and smells amazing. It's modern and well maintained. The staff are fantastic and were always willing to help. Hotel Pros: - Clean, spacious, modern - Staff are really attentive Hotel Cons: - Swimming pools are very shallow, only really appropriate for a 'dip' rather than an actual swim - The lifts are a nightmare. They operate x4 lifts whereby you select the floor you require before you enter the lift. It's then supposed to send you a lift that will provide the most efficient route. This does not happen. You can end up stopping at every floor, (there are 8 floors in total). The door close buttons also don't work, so you have to wait a good 20-30 seconds in the  lift before the doors close. I was staying on the top floor, and it could easily add 5 minutes to go down to breakfast. Room: We were staying in a Side Sea View room with a balcony. We were on the front of the hotel and overlooked a neighbouring hotel and two sketchy looking massage parlours... on the whole the room was fine. I have noticed a few reviews complaining about noise from the neighbouring hotels, but I can't say this caused any problems when the balcony door was closed. The room was well equipped with an iron, coffee machine, mini-bar with complimentary soft drinks and beer (Cava was chargeable). The room however had two single beds pushed together, and I was staying with my partner so a King bed would've been preferable however it didn't impact the stay too much. The bathroom was lovely and consisted of two sinks, a separate shower cubicle and toilet behind frosted glass doors. The housekeeping was faultless, and towels were replaced daily. Room Pros: - Clean and modern - Ample sized bathroom - Turndown service (with chocolate on pillow) Room Cons: - "Cosy" (small) - Twin beds rather than King bed - Automatic light function, whenever the door closes the lights switch off immediately regardless of if you've switched them on only a few seconds prior (meaning whenever one of us left the room, the other would be plunged into darkness) - TV features barely there, no smart connectivity and very limited channels with BBC One HD unavailable - Pillows are a weird shape Star Prestige: Star Prestige grants access to a separate rooftop area with pool, and offers unlimited free-pour premium spirits, wine, cava, coffee/iced coffee, snacks (sandwiches, wraps, pastries, yoghurt & fruit) throughout the day. Star Prestige Pros: - Private roof terrace with pool - Ideal if you're on a bed & breakfast or half board basis but want refreshments during the day - Premium free-pour spirits during the day until 7pm, and soft drinks 24/7 - Tote bag and towels in the room - Complimentary "Cocktail of the Day" brought to your sunbed - Discount at the Spa on your first treatment Star Prestige Cons: - Not enough sunbeds for everyone in Star Prestige, even with the Star Prestige area round the main pool - Snacks can get a bit samey as the selection didn't change - Room type no different to people not in Star Prestige, you just get allocated a higher floor That being said, I would still always upgrade to Star Prestige if I stay at an Iberostar property again. Dining: The restaurant onsite is a buffet, there is ample choice for Breakfast & Dinner. The breakfast has healthy options such as Greek yoghurt, fruit, muesli, continental meats/smoked salmon as well as familiar favourites - the Full English! It also has a live Omelette station. The dinner choices again are varied, stone baked pizzas, 'Chef Special' station which changes daily - for the days I ate in the restaurant I had freshly grilled veal, chicken and prawns. The other options include what you'd expect from a buffet, chips, rice, antipasti, paella, noodles, etc. The wine list is well put together, and our waiter recommended a lovely white Sangria which we had every time thereafter. Dining Pros: - Plenty of seating (Star Prestige have access to an 'exclusive' seating area) - Fresh cooking stations - Produce appears to be of good quality Dining Cons: - Food choices can get repetitive - Dress code is inconsistent. In the evening gentlemen are required to wear smart shorts/trousers and sleeved tops and must wear closed toe shoes however women can wear whatever they want... dirty flip flops if they fancy. I was challenged and refused entry for wearing leather Birkenstocks, tailored shorts and a smart polo shirt. I appreciate dress codes exist for a reason, but it wasn't equal and respectfully, it's a buffet. The dress code doesn't exist during breakfast... which is also a self serve buffet. In summary this hotel is perfectly pleasant. I am dubious of whether it really warrants a 5* rating. It technically is a 5* when graded based on facilities, however there are definitely levels within star gradings and I would put this closer to a 4*. If I returned to Tenerife/Adeje, I probably wouldn't stay here again but that's mostly down to the location - I would stay in Del Duque as this is more refined and more suited to my tastes. That being said, if you want to stay in Fanabe and you know what you expect from the area - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and I am sure you'd have a lovely stay.  I would however recommend that to get the best value experience from your trip to Tenerife, book this hotel on a bed & breakfast basis with the Star Prestige upgrade and skip the buffet dinner as there are plenty of adequate restaurants around Adeje.

For context I stayed for 7 nights in September 2023 - I had a Star Prestige 6th/top floor standard room with a partial sea view. Pro's: - Check in - staff were amazing with welcome drink and a tour of the facilities including Star Prestige areas. A bottle of cava and a sweet treat was also left in our room to congratulate me and my partner on our anniversary. - Cleaning - the room was kept clean every day with turn down service and fresh bath towels, as well as any additional beach towels if the 2x provided had been used. - Star Prestige - the rooftop facilities are a lovely way to spend the day in the sun, and the unlimited Cava and spirits as well as food options during the hours these are available are an added bonus - the roof area is open until 11pm, perfect for pre dinner drinks and a sun set. With star prestige you also get 24/7 access to soft drinks and beer, and this includes the mini bar which is kept stocked - perfect for an after shower drink on the balcony in the evening. Room - the standard room we had was perfectly ok - comfy bed and pillows, air con worked well and the shower included 2x sinks and separate shower and toilet rooms with frosted glass doors. Balcony had a partial sea view as advertised. - The hotel in general when walking around is a really pleasant experience, it smells amazing and the lobby and dining areas are very modern and clean. - Food - as far as hotel self serve buffet restaurants go, this was a fairly good option with some options changing on different days. - Spa - the spa was a nice touch with great staff and a nice private pool area with sauna and steam room. Cons: - The location is on the 'rougher' end of Adeje - if you are looking for a "5 star" holiday, you may be put off by the neon lights, the massage parlours opposite and the "Fun Pub" on the corner of the street. - Pools - the pools were adequate but very shallow, I find this is not a pool for swimming and more for a quick dip to cool off. - Restaurant - whilst listed as a pro above for the food, self serve buffet food gets very repetitive after 2 meals - you would need to go out for dinner in my opinion which makes half board / inclusive at times a waste of money. - Restaurant dress code - the restaurant has a very silly dress code in which you can wear what you want for breakfast, and women can wear what they want at all times, but men have to wear closed toe shoes for dinner - this includes smart sandles such as Birkenstocks, however women can wear dirty flip flops and nothing is said - it feels a tad discriminatory, especially when the restaurant is a buffet. However, the fantastic staff did make up for this when turned away from the buffet, they escorted us to the Gourmet Market 'paid for' restaurant upstairs and allowed us to have our entire meal on the house which was a nice touch. Star Prestige - Star Prestige is good and absolutely worth the money, I would not stay here without it - that being said, it is very busy even in September out of the school holiday season - at times you will struggle to find 2 sun beds together on the roof or on the downstairs astro turf section - they could aim to ensure all guests can guarantee a sunbed by perhaps squeezing some more in. Overall, a great stay and the staff really are fantastic, but you will definitely find nicer 5 star hotels in Adeje further towards Del Duque.

Hotel very clean and food presented excellent lovely pool area with gentle entrance like a beach you could relax in 12 inches of water . Entertainment good but Elton John tribute act excellent we watched him twice. Beds not too much a problem as pool attendant would find you one but parasols harder to obtain. Tip….. once you’ve got your space bed parasol etc open up parasol as closed ones are deemed as not being used and they will vanish. In all very good hotel as we’ve been here 4 times now but star prestige not worth the asking price. Since covid star cafe for instance has had half its billboard menu cut shame and not interested in queuing at 6:30 every morning with the selfish people to get a bed by the roof top pool I n my opinion star prestige over subscribed at this hotel Will will look to use another hotel chain next year as front of house staff wanted to charge 75 euros per day to upgrade to star prestige this time round and with three of us on a 10 day break costing 2,250 euros that was unacceptable so refused and spent the money on excursions etc . In summary very good hotel close to good bars and restaurants etc but imo star prestige not worth the upgrade you get the same service with all inclusive.

Really great vacation and superb hotel. Definitely areas that can improve but not bad enough to prevent a wonderful holiday of relaxation. Great design of what I call Scandi meets tech. Functional rooms with a partial sea view. Staff attentive and proactive. Breakfast and dinner buffet offered spectacular choice and great cooking stations.

My partner and I traveled here for a week, first time adults only a fantastic and highly recommended only way to do from now on. From the moment we arrived the staff were super friendly and very welcoming, very efficient. A welcome drink offered too. Room was pleasant spacious, bed super comfortable, note on the air con keep the balcony door closed we found that out. Breakfast was amazing we did b&b which was plentiful so much choice. No trouble getting a sun lounger, plenty there, great bar too Area is great everything you need close by. Overall we’d give 10/10 and would definitely go back. Thank you

We stayed at the Iberostar Sabila in Tenerife for 5 nights in early September. All inclusive. We didn't arrive until late on Sunday evening, but the man behind reception offered us a drink from the bar so we were sipping fizz and beer while we checked in. they also made us up a lovely salad and brought it to the room for us. The mini bar had most drinks included, and the bar menus in the hotel you scanned the QR code and it gave you all the options. drinks with a star next to them were chargeable but there was a large selection of branded options for all inclusive. the room was beautifully decorated. simple yet classy and fresh. the hotel is sustainable so they give you a large glass bottle in the room that you walk down the corridor and refill at your leisure. coffee machine in the room and a beautiful balcony view. the air con was lovely and they put soft throws on the bed incase it got chilly. the pool is large with plenty of sunbeds and they give you cards to collect fresh towels everyday. the food is buffet style but not the usual buffet you would expect. the food is exceptional. a very large amount of choice for breakfast lunch and dinner. the staff are all wonderful and do table service for drinks. we felt like we ate and drank like Kings all week. the hotel is large and spacious and they have classy live entertainment every evening from 9pm. we went to the beach to watch the sunset one evening (highly recommended) and sat on the beach one full day which was lovely. the sand is dark but soft and the sea is choppy but its lovely and warm. we just loved being in the hotel as we went to relax. they have a poolside bar and no limit on drinks ordered. this hotel is exceptional and we would highly recommend it to anyone considering an adult romantic relaxing getaway.

I recently stayed for 8 nights. The hotel was really lovely; as were the staff, Manuel, Garcia, Katherine amongst others. Arrival drink a nice touch. Room lovely, nice to have a mini bar that’s free apart from wine when all inclusive, and it gets refilled. One thing that really let it down was the labelling of the food and the minimal vegan food options in general. I had emailed before booking as I have a dairy allergy, as does my son who is vegan, and was assured there were plenty of vegan options, I was also told they could make specific things if I asked tofu, burgers etc (this didn’t happen when I was there I just got funny looks when I asked) also the reception said everything was clearly labelled. Whilst there there were some vegan options if you didn’t include salad, they were not fantastic compared to the other food on offer in this 5 star hotel. The other options were fantastic, yet the vegan options were an after thought in my option and not 5 star. My main concern though is that the allergen labelling was NOT correct, in fact most days the “vegan” lasagne was not vegan and was either vegetarian or had meat in it AND CHEESE/ MILK (I have photo evidence of a lot of these mistakes). The staff knew it had dairy in and said the labels were incorrect. The first two days I presumed I didn’t need to check and had eaten some of the “vegan Spinich lasagne” I was extremely unwell for over 24 hours. The “vegan” dishes usually had dairy products in them. I managed to ask some staff (using google translate) and was told their was dairy in the lasagne, rice, in most of the bread, in the margarine (therefore leaving no option to add to bread) One member of staff assured me some bread had no milk in at breakfast and therefore my son who is vegan and has a dairy allergy also, had eaten the bread (not allergen labelled until 2 days before we left) which did have milk in; Making him unwell. Not only was he unwell but being vegan consuming milk made him very upset. The staff just said the labels were incorrect when I kept checking and to be honest having to check every thing I ate and my son ate with staff got very tiresome for both us and the staff. One evening the “vegetarian” fried rice had ham/ chicken in it, so that’s not vegetarian. This is extremely bad and poor for a supposedly 5 star hotel. Lots of the special salads had no labelling and often had fish/ meat in. So was hard to know if it was ok to eat without asking, which some staff were unsure of the ingredients. Although I could ask, most staff were hard to find, didn’t know what was in things etc. One evening I had some “vegan” soup and a staff member remembered I had a dairy allergy and told me not to eat it as it had dairy in it. The breakfast pastries had no allergen labels until 2 days before we left, a member of staff told me the plain doughnuts had no dairy, later I found out they did when 2 days before leaving an allergen label when I had half of one and felt poorly quite quickly. This isn’t acceptable at all. Even the ice sorbet had milk in; yes there were 3 desserts that were vegan, not particularly nice and (which you had to ask for and it was sometimes impossible to find anyone on that section) I think you could offer more things that don’t contain milk. I was shown to the “vegan” section one evening when I asked, and there was Parma ham on a salad saying it was vegan?! (Picture added) The one thing that was good was the pizza section, where the staff kindly went to get vegan cheese from the back and made us fresh vegan/ dairy free pizzas. If someone visted with a severe allergy they could die from the mislabelled food. My son and myself suffer from stomach cramps, diohhrea, sickness when consuming dairy products which isn’t nice when you are on holiday, quite a few days of our holiday were spoilt. Someone who is competent needs to put the allergen labels out. Example of breakfast that was vegan; Amazing fresh juices and smoothies, Churros (syrup) , vegan sausages some days although not very nice as like hotdogs. Hash browns some days, beans, limited bread. There was always an amazing selection of fruit, soya yoghurt/ milk/ cheese. Lunch: occasionally vegan paella, salad great, limited bread, noodle dishes. Dinner: vegan paella, sometimes vegan vegetable noodles, soup but sometimes not vegan, most special items weren’t vegan. Pizza (ask for a special one to be made with vegan cheese) The rest of the hotel was amazing, clean, friendly staff, great drink selection. Lovely cocktails (Strawberry daiquiri was delicious). The rooms were very clean, lovely hand cream/ soap/ shampoo/ conditioner that was refilled if needed. It was easy enough to get a sunbed of you went for breakfast and put a towel Out. Location great, private access to the beach and bars/ shops if needed nearby. Classes great; worth doing jewellery glass making course and the perfume event. The animation team were great too, and there’s aqua aerobics/ Zumba in pool every day. We visited the Fanabe market, was good if you wanted fake designer bags. I would definitely have come back here, but the food with the allergen hazards and the vegan options not 5 star would sadly probably make me choose somewhere else. I will say if you eat anything and have no allergies, the food was fantastic definitely 5 star. I have emailed hotel about allergen complaint a few days ago and not had a response back as yet.
