What a beautiful room! We were up in the eves so no good if you don’t like steps (you have to climb from the 2nd to 3rd floor) but it was well worth it. We paid the bargain price of £39 and couldn’t believe the quality of the room, it had all the facilities including an ironing board which is often not available these days. There was only a shower which doesn’t suit everyone. The location was spot on and despite being there during a storm the room was lovely and quiet. The service was very good, friendly and helpful.

My husband and I stayed at The Crown on a recent sightseeing tour of the town of Worcester and we weren't disappointed at all!!
The night before we stayed in an airbnb in Shrewsbury and the night after at an 'upmarket' hotel in Witney. Neither of those properties, althought both were much more expensive, held a torch to The Crown Wetherspoons Hotel.
Our room was on the first floor and was roomy, spotless and tastefully decorated with a 'music' theme which we think may have been a tribute to Elgar who was born in a village just outside Worcester. We particularly liked the painted violin on the wall which was so eye-catching.. The en-suite was big and spotless with a walk-in shower with its 'Rainfall' shower head which was fabulous. We had a good and comfortable nights sleep and weren't bothered by noise at all.
We had breakfast the next morning in the adjoining Wetherspoons Pub which started serving at 7.30am and it was the usual excellent Weatherspoons tasty breakfast selection.
Parking was easy in the CrownGate carpark almost opposite the hotel and a discount can be applied by getting a voucher from the hotel that is handed in at the carpark where the discount will be applied.
If you're looking foe somewhere to stay in Worcester, then you need look no further than the Crown, it was fabulous!!

I honestly can’t believe what you get for the money with this place. The car park they recommend is literally a 3 minute walk away and costs £6 for 24 hours if you obtain a receipt and take it the carpark management office the next morning. Check in was seamless and masks are required in all public areas. The room was large, airy, clean, good standard bathroom and extremely comfortable bed. Despite being on the main high street the secondary glazing meant it was extremely peaceful. The staff were all excellent and we would definitely return. I have without a doubt paid twice the price for a worse standard of service and room in the past.

Gave this hotel a go when staying over in Worcester for Halloween. The hotel itself is slightly hidden away, requiring you to go through a passageway next to the entrance of the pub its attached to.
The check-in process was pretty quick, with the receptionist explaining the door system, and how to get to my room (As despite being on the 3rd floor, I would have to take the elevator to the 2nd floor and walk through a few corridors to get to it)

The room itself has been done up nicely, keeping on old fashioned look to match the building, but having plenty of modern amenities (extra plug sockets and some usb ports fitted either side of the bed and on the desk) while the bathroom was spacious and looked like it had been revamped for a more modern look.

Getting in an out of the hotel was easy enough, but in the evening, once the regular entrance has closed, you will need to go in through the pub itself (showing your hotel card to the bouncer) and then going through a side-door in order to reach the stairs and elevator to the guest rooms.

The only problems I found were the view and the noise. Even being above a pub, I didn't hear much noise from the customers, but I think my room may have been right next to some of the generators for the buildings AC units, so I struggled to get to sleep because of the loud humming of the machinery. (Will definitely have to bring earplugs)
As for the view, I cant account for the other rooms, but the windows in mine only looked out to the roof of the building, and you couldn't see anything past them due to how the walls are built up.

For the price you pay, the rooms are a great quality, but I can't recommend it if you are someone who may struggle to sleep due to loud noise.

Check in was easy, unfortunately the desk isn't always manned and you have to go and search for someone in the pub next door (which is packed!). Beware of all the steep stairs to the rooms, no use for anyone with a disability. We asked for a nice quiet room, were told by the receptionist that was no problem.

Our room was awful (102)! It was tatty and dirty, lots of quick fixes which could easily have been done but just left (see photos). Our room was right next to a noisy large piece of equipment (generator?). We had vibrations in the room, and the bed was jiggling all the time, loud clanking sporadically too! Even with the secondary double glazing shut it was still too loud to have a decent sleep.

On top of the noise from outside, the people walking down the corridor sounded like they were stamping their feet because of the shoddy noise insulation. Some bright spark decided to wake me up by pushing our invoice under the door early in the morning too! We could have been given that when we checked in.

Cleaning obviously isn't a priority, even in the new unsafe covid situation we are in, skirting boards hadn't been dusted for weeks. Someone thinks a broken violin is wall decoration, another tatty item to gather dust.

The shower had an overhead attachment which couldn't be moved, so impossible to wash without getting wet hair. The bathroom definitely needs tlc (see photos). On top of that the radiator in there didn't work, so it was freezing cold.

The bed was comfortable apart from the constant vibrating, unfortunately the pillows were pathetic! We ended up with 6, so thin and flimsy it still felt like we only had 2!

The WiFi kept dropping out, most frustrating.

We were relieved to leave! Definitely not somewhere we will be staying again, the worst Wetherspoon's we have ever been to.

As there's no car park it's recommended that you park in the Crowngate multi-storey and get your hotel invoice validated for discount, only £1 all day Sunday and overnight, plus discounted day rate. The room was very comfortable with double shower and soft fluffy towels, just could have done with somewhere to hang the hand towel by the sink. The wi-fi was not very good but had a word with the staff and it got better. Ideally suited for shopping and restaurants, plus the cheap drinks in the bar. Excellently priced and very good value.

Omg! Where do I start? I’ve been to many Wetherspoons across the UK, usually good, but this is the worst one ever! It was just honestly shocking! So we went in and was greeted to filthy tables everywhere. We asked for it to be cleaned but the rude teenage girl gave us a cloth and made us clean it ourselves. We told her it wasn’t our food and she walked off because she’s rude. So stupidly we cleaned it ourselves. There was dirty tables everywhere. The table next to us actually never got cleaned and we was in there for an hour. The two teenage lads serving actually didn’t bother cleaning up any of the numerous dirty tables, they would take one plate every 15 minutes and leave the rest there. They could see the mess but just left it which just seems lazy. I was tempted to actually walk into the kitchen and do the job for them, it seems they are understaffed or maybe the problem is that the whole place is been run by teenagers who don’t really care and know nothing about customer service. I don’t have a problem with some teenagers serving as I am 18 myself but when all the staff are students then that’s a bit of an issue. Anyway when my pizza came it was smaller than usual, it tasted ok but it tasted a bit burnt at the bottom. Finally I wanted a caramel tart but they actually stopped serving at the bar because of a lack of social distancing - Their fault for letting too many people in! They told us to order via the app which not everyone has and I didn’t have time to be downloading it and I couldn’t anyway as the wifi was terrible and wouldn’t work. So after an hour with the table next to us still not cleaned up we had to leave. Staff are lazy, rude, don’t care and honestly it is the worst ever!

Our first Wetherspoons hotel, our first visit to Worcester. When you're based in such a fine hotel the trip becomes even more memorable.
Room 101, but unlike the book I'll stay in it any time happily. The room was a good size with nice nods to Elgar in the decor, a bath which is always a bonus, and plenty of tea and coffee. The bed was extremely comfortable too, we had a great night's sleep. Everyone knows what Wetherspoons pubs are about, so although breakfast wasn't included in the price we just strolled downstairs for their brilliant menu next morning.
We couldn't fault the Crown in any way. The staff were cheerful and helpful, the room was great, the building was special for its history and our first Wetherspoons hotel was part of a very enjoyable visit to Worcester. In fact, a 4 star hotel we stayed in a few weeks previously were nowhere near as capable, comfy or caring as this gem in the 'Spoons crown. A credit to the brand and a fine asset for Worcester.

We had a lovely stay in this fine old building, loved the history and architecture of it. The staff were fantastic, prompt attention at all times and the housekeeping ladies were outstanding. Our room was large, bright and airy, clean and well furnished, could not ask for more, highly recommended for a city centre stay
