We stayed at this wonderful place for 3 nights after our holiday in the Lake District on our way back to Kent. We stayed in the Butlers Room with our own private patio looking out over the garden. Because it was quiet when we were there our breakfast was served each morning by the owner Pamela to our patio and what a delight that was when opening our curtains to find your breakfast awaiting. The rooms were wonderfully furnished and we felt very much at home. Pamela gave us lots of advice about walks to do and places to visit. We would definitely return if we are in the area and recommend to our friends.

Willington Lodge is an amazingly restored country manor set in the gorgeous Welsh countryside. It’s quite central for a lot of things in North Wales, we went to Liverpool one day, Llangollen the next and then to Snowdon and Conwy Castle (highly recommended) on our last day.
This BnB is the perfect setting to come back and relax in after a day exploring and driving. Then, also, to gently wake up in with breakfast served to the room (due to COVID) which suited us down to the ground. The breakfast is amazing, the Sausage and Egg seeded bap was exceptional, and all using locally sourced products. The rooms are really tastefully done with plenty of space. We had the Groom’s Suite which is perfect for a family of four as the kids have a mezzanine area to play in above their room, I also liked spending a bit of quiet time in this area in the morning with the sun coming through the open window and the sounds of birds and the local dairy cows to keep me company. The bathroom is huge. The grounds surrounding the lodge are very quiet and perfectly manicured, and safe for kids to explore, there’s even horses to pet and feed! I can see why people camp here too as it has tranquil energy to it, extremely peaceful. And then to top it off Pam is a great host, who is there to answer all your questions, and also full of information on the local area, with ready made lists of pubs and restaurants to eat and drink in.
We all hope to come back in the future!

Absolutely everything; there really isn’t anything not to like about Willington Lodge, from 10* hosting, 10* boutique style accommodation to 10* food!

It was a returning visit for us, after a three year break, we were due to get married this weekend but of course due to COVID-19 had to postpone, we couldn’t have had a better alternative though. We shall 100% be returning for a third visit in the future.

Not only do Pamela, Amelia and Richard attend to your every need they are just super great people, you can really tell their passion is in providing a top quality service to their guests.

Obviously with the current crisis we were slightly apprehensive about staying away; but at Willington Lodge they have made all the necessary precautions and it goes without saying their level of cleanliness is superb. Hand Sanitiser is provided and operations are slightly altered to accommodate. We especially liked the TV remote being in a cellophane wrap (this is to ensure it’s easily sanitised - so no need to remove the control from the wrapper people, do you know how difficult it is to throughly clean between the buttons or else!!!) there were no negatives to any of changes; actually it was very lovely having breakfast out on the terrace completely in your town space and looking out at the immaculately presented Walled Garden!

It’s simple really if you want a relaxing and safe retreat with wonderful hosts and a comfortable stay at reasonable prices. Willington Lodge has you sorted!

See you again in the future, until then keep safe :)

• recommend guests call and book directly with Pam/Amelia (this helps avoid external fees for your hosts)
• check out Hawkstone Follies, great day out!

We have just returned from the fabulous Willington Lodge where we were lucky enough to have a two night stay in Lord Willington’s cottage for my birthday weekend. The interior of Willington Lodge and all of the guest rooms have been luxuriously decorated and furnished by Pam to an exceptional standard and the attention to detail is second to none.
After we settled in we were booked in for afternoon tea and the experience was fantastic. A huge variety of delicate sandwiches were accompanied by an array of delicious home-made cakes, tartlets, scones, cream and jam. It was definitely the nicest cream tea I have ever had. The following day the choice at breakfast was equally as good and the Full English we chose was beautifully presented and very tasty.
Throughout our stay Amelia could have not been more welcoming and looked after us so well making made sure that we had everything we needed. It may have been our first visit to Willington Lodge but we cannot wait to return. Thank you.

This is Knightsbridge quality in the sumptuous Welsh countryside and a total find, we can't wait too go back!

We stayed in the exquisite 'Gardeners Room' which could only be considered a Gardeners Room if it were for Lady Chatterley's lover, with a spiral staircase facilitating a two tier split between the effortlessly appointed bedroom down stairs, and the gorgeous open plan bathroom with an elegant Victorian bathtub as its centrepiece upstairs, where you can spend countless hours with a bottle of bubbly simply luxuriating in it.

Outside the grounds and garden are meticulously maintained and the sun deck and bar are a real treat to enjoy.

We can't complement the hosts, Pam, Richard, Amelia and Edward enough - nothing is too much trouble and they make every guest feel super special. A trip to remember and we will certainly be back again:-)

thank you all for your brilliant hospitality!

These are lovely words and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. We used the lock-down period due to Covid-19 to refurbish the guest bedrooms with Farrow and Ball paint and new furniture. We would be delighted if you can return to stay with us again in the future. North Wales has lots to offer tourists coming into the area and we would be delighted to offer suggestions to ensure your next stay is equally enjoyable. Regards Pamela

As soon as you arrive, Willington Lodge is a sight to see! Up front, you are welcomed by superb architecture surrounded by a handsome gravel driveway and a nicely kept garden. At the back, a cozy and surprisingly warm walled garden - which is fantastic for late afternoon drinks or diner outside.

Once you're ready to settle in, you'll find that the rooms are immaculate and exquisitely decorated - my favourite part was the bathroom! With an exquisite freestanding bath and top of the range toiletries, I could have stayed in there for hours. The bed was not only super comfortable but also hypoallergenic! It feels like a feather bed... without the sniffing and coughing for those who are more sensitive.

After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast, which was just superb. Would have taken a Tupperware full of the scrambled eggs and mushrooms home if I could...

Last but certainly not least, Amelia and all the team are the most accommodating, attentive and gracious hosts you could hope for. 5 star service, done with a smile!

We visited this amazing hotel in June for our 3 yr anniversary and we were totally wowed! It is undoubtedly the most stunning hotel I have ever visited. The location is great quiet and of the beaten track. The grounds are gorgeous country flowers and little seating areas, the walled garden is stunning my favourite place to be. The staff are very professional attentive kind and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble!! Every room is perfectly designed to a high standard, we stayed in the gardeners suite in the eaves and the room was truly perfect, gorgeous comfortable big bed, rainfall shower and roll top bath, little touches such as toiletries and water by your bed, a safe and fridge in the room was a real asset. Breakfast was by far the nicest one I’ve ever had , plenty of choices , hot and freshly baked and served.Sitting in the walled garden enclosure whilst eating in the early sunshine and watching the beautiful flowers and nature around us. Ample safe parking. Pam , Richard and Amelia thank you so much for making the perfect stay we will definitely return very soon. I’ve told my boyfriend this maybe our special choice for a wedding one day in the future. If you are thinking of visiting this beautiful hotel you’ve made the right choice. Value for money and complete perfection. Well done to Pam and Richard you deserve 6+ stars!!!!!!

What a really wonderful place to go for the first time.
We stayed a total of 6 nights.
The setting is in such an idyllic location near the town of Whitchurch, and within easy reach of Wrexham, Chester and Oswestry.

All the rooms would be called suites by hotel companies.
Our suite was highly comfortable and had every amenity of a luxury five-star hotel or a in picture that you would find in a magazine such as Country Life!

The breakfast offered an abundance of choice - all freshly prepared and cooked by the great Host Pamela, and served by her assistant Emma.
The booking was taken by Amelia who was really warm and helpful and knew the answers to all of my many questions.
We also met Richard, supportive husband to Pamela, who was charming and really a great guy too!

We felt so relaxed and well looked after that we did not want to leave and extended our stay a couple of days.

We highly recommend this place for anyone that wants to escape the ordinary and feel like being spoilt.

Enjoy your stay!

Thank you everyone at Willington.

With a holiday originally planned for the Dordogne we had to reschedule to respond to C19 travel restrictions

A trip to North Wales and then onto Scotland quickly emerged.

We spent the first 2 nights of our trip at Willington Lodge in the family suite. The rooms are lovely and our 2 daughters age 11 and 13 loved their own space in the mezzanine.

We enjoyed a healthy breakfast outside in the courtyard before setting out for the day. This has proven to be a great location to explore this part of Wales and enjoy the stunning scenery and great driving roads. (I need to return in something more exciting to drive than our Campervan)

We highly recommend the Lodge. Classic architecture with modern looks and my wives favourite Farrow and Ball colours makes this a great place to spend time. Friendly hosts make it perfect.

Great b&b - friendly staff, pretty buildings and surrounding gardens. Lots of places to sit outside with some under cover if it rains, as well as an indoor dining room for breakfast. Room was clean and and comfortable. Many options for breakfast, no other meals but a well stocked tea tray and mini bar in the room to keep you going. A few laid back animals roaming the grounds, nice if you are an animal lover but not intrusive if you aren’t!
We stayed here as we were going to a wedding At iscoyd park. It’s 10 mins drive from there if you’re in a similar position. Talking to other wedding guests, I think we made the best choice in our stay at willington lodge compared to some of the other hotels in the area.

We had an excellent Afternoon Tea at Willington Lodge but sorry do not know about the accommodation and if dogs are allowed (we think more places should accept our “well behaved” dogs)
