My partner and I stayed here 9-15th January 2020. We had booked for 6 nights on all inclusive basis in a double superior room with a balcony. The premises were a little difficult to find because it was signed as “Soleil Vacances” and not Hotel Club Residences Valfrejus as stated on the booking from Sunweb. Their is an open complimentary car park to the side of the hotel with wide spaces for most cars. The staff without exception are all very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We arrived an hour before official check in and were told our room was ready and we could gain access to it straight away! On checking in all paperwork and all inclusive wrist bands were present with no fuss or delay. A personal guided tour of all the facilities and timing of certain things were given in English and all questions that arose were answered. Their are three lifts and using a combination of them means all floors can be accessed. The room (room number 406) was well appointed with a fridge which had two complimentary cans of Pepsi, a can of Perrier and a bottle of water. A separate toilet and a bathroom with a small bath tub with shower and a sink, soaps, towels and shampoo. Plenty of wardrobe space and an inbuilt safe. The bed was huge and very comfortable with a square table and a chair and stool. The room had a long two aspect balcony offering uninterrupted views of Valfrejus and the surrounding mountains. As to the amenities in the hotel. Brunch is served from 07:30-13:00 daily, afternoon tea 16:30-17:30 and dinner 19:00-2100. All food was on a buffet basis with plenty of variation of cold and hot bits everyday. This is not a fine dining experience but tasty none the less and as much as you want. The hotel actively encourage you to make a packed lunch so that you can have something on the slope. Very nice touch! Soft drinks, beer, wine and coffee are offered from 10:00-22:00 on a self serve basis. Between 12:00-13:30 and 18:30-22:00 house spirits are offered from the bar. The hotel has the benefit of a small cold but not unbearable pool and a sauna. Ski locker room has plenty of professional storage racks for skis and boots. You access this room both internally and externally. Internal access is with out ski boots on. Externally involves about 15 steps. What is a ski holiday with out some steps in those magnificent ski boots! The location is not quite ski in and out as to access the slope you have to walk 150m to join a run to the bottom gondola to access the main slopes. Not a difficult or tiring walk. The town centre is easily accessed with a 5 minute walk utilising purpose built stairs and walkways. Our thoughts. We would definitely come back here again! We skipped breakfast for early skiing and then return for midday for lunch with wine. Ski again and back for afternoon tea. The lifts start at 09:00 and finish at 16:00 so worked well with the hotel dining times. The owner is always available and very amenable to a chat. By the end of the vacation we felt that we were in some way part of the hotel family which in our opinion is terrific! This is a very family orientated and dog friendly accommodation were all are welcome.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir, Allow me to thank you for this very detailed and positive comment. It has been a real pleasure to welcome you and then to talk with you every day and I personally want to thank you for the smiles you gave us every day. Be assured that my team joins me awaiting the pleasure to welcome you again soon. Moreover we didn't get the time to taste together the famous Genepi drink. So that you definitely have to come back to taste it :-) I personally remain at your entire disposal, with our best wishes. Fraçois SIONNIERE

We travelled to this residence in late August, right at the end of the usual French summer vacations. It was still very full but one could tell it was about to wind down. I beleve in fact it closes until ski season. The residence is well located, only a few steps from the village center and restaurants. It is not far from the ski Iift (which runs in summer to explore the summit), but I'm not sure it could function as a ski- in ski-out place. The room was comfortable and quiet, with a nice view. Wifi in the room. Parking could be problematic. There is a breakfast buffet.

Stayed here for a week. The hotel offers an all-inclusive formula and advertises with three stars. In reality they could also have four stars. The rooms are nice, modern and clean (although I would not have made the choice for a deep carpet in a hotelroom. The food is actually very good and not what you would expect from 3 stars. Every day gives a different theme and different courses. There are healthy options if you want them. You can drink wine and beer the whole day as well as water. During breakfast you can make a boxed lunch for yourself to take along. The swimming pool and sauna are quite amall but that is not weird in a hotel this size. The staff is very friendly. There is one thing you need to remember and this could be something you irritate yourself about: The hotel is totally focussed on the French (or people who speak French). The staff only speaks very limited English and the entertainment (a daily quiz) does not even attemt to say “hello” to the non-French speaking guests. For us this was not an issue however. The region also gives you a weekly pass with a lot of free activities (a climbing park, minigolf, a local swimmingpool, a free horse and carriage ride, etc. Everything however is in French. It looks like there is a lot to do in the environment but every leaflet is only available in French, the tourist office speaks limited English but they manage. There are a lot of hiking routes around that are clearly marked (although it takes you a few days to understand the markings, there is nothing non-French that explains them.

Everything is fine for a 3 star hotel. Nice people, clean room. People are too friendly to be French. The only problem is the chef always puts fruits in the dishes, that’s...hmmm...special...The swimming pool is very small, don’t expect too much.

When we arrived, the check-in was perfectly prepared and it took us under 5 minutes to go to our room with a balcony and a superb view. The restaurant offers a great brunch from 7am till 1pm. The huge variety offers something for everyone, even the most difficult table guests... If you want, you can make your lunch to take up to the mountain tops. The hotel offers packaging for what you want to have for lunch and even water bottles. We didn't use this service but it's great when being with a whole family and looking for something else then fries or spaghetti in the mountain restaurants... The dinner offers a wide variety as well. The staff in the restaurant is smiling and trained. They are at your service whenever you need them. A great feeling! Rooms are refurbished and offer all needed options; fridge, quality satellite TV, balcony, bath and a very good shower, separate toilet, tasteful interior and a quiet atmosphere looking out on the great mountains and the cozy village. The hotel is rated 3 stars but it deserves 4 knowing they also have an indoor pool and sauna. The open bar is nice to spend a great evening with family and/or friends. For families, it's a great choice as well. For what concerns the village, it's smaller then most of the other stations in the alps but it's definitely much more cozy and welcoming. It offers 4 bars, several nice restaurants and also here, nothing but smiles from shop owners, restaurant and bar staff and villagers. Something which is rare at the end of a season. We didn't encounter one unfriendly person and that I find exceptional!! I highly recommend Valfrejus, the hotel and the local businesses. It's worth the money and we definitely come back :-)
