This was my first ever stay at the First World Hotel. This hotel received an accolade in 2015 for being the biggest hotel in the world, boasting 7351 rooms. This is a warning to all potential guests! In order to maintain a hotel of this size, you would need to have a HUGE number of staff and customer service officers. They have NEITHER! I stayed here together with 6 friends, I was the only one in my group who was a first-time visitor. My friends are long-time Genting Casino members, they get free rooms in this hotel each month if they spend a certain amount of money in the casino. Therefore, this hotel actually is a trap for addicted gamblers who head up here just to gamble in the casino! The check-in process is via machines which requires the Genting Resorts World membership cards and the Malaysian Identification card to verify your membership. If you have neither, if you are a foreigner or an overseas visitor, then you will have problems checking in! As I mentioned, all of my friends had free rooms from their points on their membership cards, I had to pay for my own room for the 2 nights that I stayed here. And for the quality of the rooms, The RM250 per night that I paid was definitely too expensive! One of my friends, a Gold Card Member, helped me to book my room here, and even that, he couldn't get the same room for 2 consecutive nights. I had to switch rooms after 1 night. Now let me tell you about both the rooms I stayed in, plus the rooms that my friends stayed in! All our rooms are tiny! And all our rooms do not have any air-conditioning, just a ceiling fan. And the windows of all our rooms opened up to an inside air well that is 29-storeys high, meaning that all the rooms don't get much natural light at all! Forget about any views of the natural surroundings, the only views you will get are into the adjacent rooms' windows which are approximately 8-feet apart from your windows!!! Forget about sound insulation, I could hear my neighbours talk, cough, sneeze, shower, flush their toilet, drop a plastic cup on the floor, children screaming & laughing, running down the common corridor, slamming doors, etc. Our rooms could fit 2 single beds, that's it! There isn't any room to place your luggage or organize your personal belongings. Like some other reviewer mentioned, you would have to sit on your bed to watch the television, if it works at all! All the personal digital safes in the rooms do not work, either their batteries have died a long time ago or the previous guests have left them locked when they checked out of the rooms. And the housekeeping service doesn't come to clean your room or replace your towels for the duration of your stay in this hotel!!! They only clean the rooms after the guests have checked out. In both my rooms, my pillow cases had stains, which makes me wonder if they even replace the bedlinen with a clean set after each guest has checked out. The only thing you get in the bathroom is 2 soap dispensers mounted on the wall; 1 next to the washbasin and 1 in the shower cubicle. Please don't expect any toiletries or glasses to rinse your mouth with. The telephone in each room is for display purposes only. If you call up the front desk to report any problems with your room, your call will be put on hold forever! And if you are fortunate enough to get hold of someone, they say that they will send someone up, but nobody comes! And none of the rooms here comes with complimentary breakfast or anything like this, so please don't get your hopes up! If you are a compulsive gambler, the points that you chalk up on your casino membership card will give you a free breakfast set in the Malaysian Food Court in the shopping mall downstairs. But you will have to lose around RM500 to get that free breakfast for each person, therefore it is cheaper to buy your own breakfast! In summary, please DO NOT bring your children and family to this hotel! Stay here only if you are interested in gambling in the casino day & night. Do not stay here if you want quality family time together with your loved ones, or a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you want to bring your family here for a holiday, to visit the newly opened Genting Skyworlds theme park, please go stay in the Crockford Tower Hotel.

Booked a TRIPLE DELUXE room with my friends on 14 May, we paid $250 SGD FOR 2 nights! realize a lot of problems! Here is the lists - Lack of Space, there is just bed and a latch, nowhere to sit except on the bed with your dirty clothes - there is no AIRCON super stuffy, hence we have to open the window and insects kept coming in. - Everything is chargeable despite the price we paid for the stay, including counter check in, disposable house slippers and toiletries - Issues with house keeping, standard of cleanliness is horrible - horrifying toilet design Just don’t ever book a hotel with First World Hotel, service sucks, super pricey (not worth it!), rooms are horrible in general. Ruined our Genting experience because of this hotel!

Our room was not reserved due to agoda’s system glitch therefore we were asked to pay Rates on that day which is doubled from what we booked from agoda. 10 of us booked the room together were worried about our rooms and the amount of money needed to be paid which is doubled of the actual amount (roughly an additional 1k)which is beyond our budget, not being helpful/professional they pushed everything to the reservation department and claimed that they are not related at all they are only front desk nothing could be done from their side. We were asked to contact agoda ourselves and was told it was not their problem. We were frustrated and annoyed at the same time because agoda was not responding and the front desk wouldn’t help us to contact them. In the end we paid according to the price from the date we check in as we really needed the room. The room as well basic amenities were missing with no shampoo or soap were provided. There were cracks on the toilet wall .The room was very small, carpet were not cleaned. It was far beyond my expectation from an international hotel. There were a lot of random people would talk to you as well at the lobby asking about whether you already have a room and wanted to sell you their rooms. Im not sure if it is a scam or pure letting go of rooms but i felt very uncomfortable.

This has to be the worst hotel we stayed so far, and we traveled to many countries, stayed at many hotels over the years. The world biggest hotel turned out to be the biggest disappointment. We booked here because of the proximity to casino, shopping mall and theme park. We were greeted by the worst check in experience. The lobby was packed with hundreds of people checked in at the same time. There were staffs providing assistance to use the auto check in machines which are mostly for members usage. There were very few machines for non members and there were no proper queue, and unfortunately for us, machine did not work. We managed to check in at the reception counter after an hour queue in the hot and stuffy lobby. There were eight or nine people before us with at least six counters opened, super inefficient! I was asked to pay extra for early check in because I was 15 mins earlier than the official check in time, that’s just ridiculous! The booking confirmation did not mentioned early check in charges. I opted to pay for the extra charges as I didn’t want to queue for another hour to check in and the staff already processed our check in request without informing the extra charges. Additional key card also came with extra charges. The room was poorly maintained with below average cleannesses. No aircon, only ceiling fan so we had to open the window. TV was blurry. Bathroom was so poorly designed that you have to get dress outside the shower without privacy. Most of the rooms are smoking floors, only a few non smoking floors and these are stuck between smoking floors. So with the open window we can smell the cigarettes in our room. Services were bad. The hotel seriously understaffed and poorly maintained. Fortunately check out was a breeze, just dropped key card in the automatic check out machine. The view was great though, over looking the highlands and we were fortunate to witness sunrise from our bed which was the highlight of our stay. Despite the sunrise, we couldn’t wait to leave because of the awful experience.

The worst hotel with totally no regards to hospitality! It 2am when i arrive and all automated checkin is not working. A long queue with only 1 counter operating... Customers were made to stand 1.5hours in the queue and totally no social distancing. I won't recommend this to tourist....maybe its more for the local to come and gamble is the main objective
