#2 of 5 hotels in Lerma
Travellers' Choice
The amazing ducal palace at Lerma, now a Parador, is located in the upper part of the city. The hotel features a central courtyard surrounded by lovely columned galleries. The elegant majesty of this palace from the era of the Hapsburgs and its lovely interiors, with beautifully designed lighting and decor, will make your stay an unforgettable experience. The Plaza Mayor (Main Square) is opposite the main facade of the palace. At night, the lights of the Parador make it look even more magnificent and stately. The medieval quarter, Arch, Carcel Bridge, San Blas Convent, Santo Domingo Monastery, Pasadizo del Duque (Duke's Passage) and former collegiate church of San Pedro are just some of the treasures you won't want to miss. The area around Lerma is well worth a visit. 22 Kilometers away is Covarrubias, a lovely village where San Cosme y San Damian Collegiate Church and Dona Sancha and Dona Urraca squares invite travelers to enjoy a leisurely visit, imagining that time has stood still in the Middle Ages and that little has changed since the year 987, when Count Fernan Gonzalez founded the town. About half an hour away by car is another treasure: the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos, a Romanesque jewel which has become a place of spiritual and artistic pilgrimage. It is also not far to beautiful Aranda de Duero, city of wine, monuments, history and culinary expertise.

Travelling down through Spain we chose to spend a night here and what a great decision that was. Beautiful building and our room was very in keeping and had fantastic views . We hd a stroll around the centre with its lovely old buildings and quaint streets we even passed bank practice which was going on outside. Great place to visit and stay. Thoroughly recommend.

Welcome at the reception was correct and professional. The room had a spectacular view and bathroom and bedroom are sober a bit dated but ok. It has a soul but price quality I think it is overrated especially breakfast. The orange juice was again ok the scrambled egg didn't have any salt or pepper and the coffee was horrible. You couldn't get a capoucino for breakfast. They all are trying very hard and do the best they can but I don't see anyone smiling nor doing there job with their heart. A pitty because we paid over 200 euros for one night

Set on one side of a huge town square this is a spectacular Parador. We were fortunate to have a room overlooking the square which is the hub of the town. You are able to park directly outside the Parador. The staff were all excellent and the Covid-19 prevention measures were clear and numerous. Our room was large, had everything you needed and was very clean. You can sit and enjoy a drink in the large atrium or gardens. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast here, served in different rooms, and the Covid-19 prevention measures had no negative impacts. We will definitely try to come back to Lerma and will stay here again if we do.

I was hugely impressed by the hospitality and reassurance provided by the staff during my stay. Constant attention to safety, attention to detail such as sanitisation of the pen used for signing in. I could have checked in online and would now do so in the future. The amenities we tend to take for granted but the hardwork the staff put in to keep guests safe during a pandemic is remarkable. This hotel is a must stay because of it's people.

A really beautiful Parador and a very comfortable stay. The room was first rate and the communal areas very agreeable. Breakfast was good and efficiently run, despite Covid 19 restrictions. Unfortunately our commitments did not let us sample the restaurant. It is located in the main square of the small town of Lerma and the square has interesting shops and a small selection of historic buildings nearby. The highlight is the Parador which was the former palace of the Duke.
