Detailed Reviews
We can't wait to return. Monte do Brejinho de Água was the perfect place to stay for two nights. We wanted to have a look around the area of Comporta and Nuno our host made sure that our stay was perfect. It was incredible value for money, breakfast was fantastic and included, our girls loved their daily swim in the pool and visit to see the resident animals plus the accommodation had every need catered for. The location was ideal, close to the fantastic beaches, small towns to discover and great restaurants in the area.

Wonderful experience spending a long new year’s eve weekend. We were a group of 5 adults and 3 teens and we had all the comfort and commodities we needed. Nuno is an excellent, always available host and provided us with all information and even some eggs from the farms hens when we ran out. :) Wonderfully located close to amazing beaches and small towns.

Is about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Lisbon, the location is exceptional, although you need a car to get the place and to visit the several beaches and restaurants around. The main beaches, such as Comporta and Carvalhal are 15 minutes away driving and Troia is 30 minutes; also, good restaurants are 15 minutes driving; a winery to be visited is 300 mts from the hotel.
Nuno and Erica are amazing host, upon arrival they give you a map and go through all the places and restaurant that you go or visit.
The breakfast is amazing, Nuno’s grandma cakes are amazing and the Tomato Jam and Agua de Mel are so yummy.
The rooms are large, you can get 2 bedroom place or one bedroom place, all the rooms have a back patio with table and chairs where you can sit and enjoy wine and nature, and personally my favourite view is at night when you can see a sky cover with star, by the way one night my wife and I watched a shooting star.
After visiting the beaches in Comporta or Troia we relaxed at the wonderful swimming pool.
This is a place that I highly recommend for the location, service and facilities.

We stayed at Brejinho de Agua for 2 nights in June and had a very relaxing time.
The property has been in the family for some time and they have four rooms of different sizes which have just been renovated; our standard double bedroom was extremely spacious. The bathroom was very modern with a nice shower.
Breakfast was served in the main house and offered a good choice of local products including homemade jams and honey as well as a freshly-baked cake (Grandma’s secret recipe).
The hosts Nuno and Erika were very friendly and took the time to give us some insights and great recommendations of where to eat locally.
The lodge is conveniently located 20 min from beautiful beaches and 15 min from Comporta town (where there are many trendy stores to browse), while being in a natural area that is relatively undeveloped.
We found this ‘rural’ hotel to be excellent value for money in a destination that is becoming increasingly fashionable and therefore expensive.

We stayed for two nights at Monte de Brejinho do agua on our trip from Porto& Lisbon to Faro and need to say, that this was the best accommodation in two weeks in Portugal! We would give 10 stars if possible 😊.
Unfortunately we stayed only two nights, because the accommodation was perfect. The hosts Erica & Nunu were super nice & friendly. Even though we were already 200% satisfied with everything, they asked if we like something in addition for breakfast or if we need anything else. If you book a room at Monte de Brejinho do agua, make sure you book longer than you plan to, because you might really love it.
The room was quite big and very clean, same applied for the bathroom. Also the towels were very clean, actually everything!!! They have a nice and quiet terrace, where you can relax and dry your clothes. Overall the buildings seemed to be quite new and very well maintained. Also they had three baby dwarf goats which we really liked.
The beaches close by were clean with only a few people, so very quiet (the beaches there are endless, so you will definitely find a spot for yourself) . So if you want to relax, this place is highly recommended, but make sure you have a car to get to the next city or to different beaches!

We have enjoyed some days here with our kids. The hosters, Nuno and Erika have made our stay wonderful. Just four houses are available thus it makes it a peaceful and exclusive place. They offer a home made breakfast and are always ready to support you. In 50km around you will find places like Porto Covo or Comporta to enjoy the Portuguese shore. Don’t hesitate to book a house if you are thinking of visiting this area.

One of the downsides with writing a review about a super find is that more people will know about it but these two young guys (Nuno & Erika) deserve all the support for a super offering. Located approximately 90 minutes south of Lisbon and 10ks from Comporta, we stayed here for two nights on a recent road trip along the west coast - and what a find !. The property has been in Nuno's family for generations who has together with Erika created a super spot for a short stay. The accommodation suites are in the converted stables and provide excellent ensuite accommodation with wi-fi & tv - (but who needs these when you can sit on the patio in the evening under the clear star studed skies drinking wine from the winery accross the way. Breakfast is super with Nuno's granny's breakfast cake (a real must try !) and honey from Nuno's father's farm. Super unspoilt beaches are a short drive away with excellent beach restaurants. Go on spoil yourself ! TIP: load your sat nav with the GPS co-ordinates - it will get you there all the quicker.

A small family-run place. Stayed for a couple of nights and loved every part of it. Breakfast is delicious and the area is just beautiful. The service was exceptional and they went way out of their way to make us comfortable and ensure we had a good time. Close to the beach and you can bike there but having a car helps to explore the area. One of the nicest places I've ever stayed in and very clean spacious rooms. Very recommended!

There is nothing like being welcomed by Nuno and his family. They know when to spend time with you and when to give you space. Nuno arranged for his grandmother to cook a homemade meal for us. They put a spread of evening snacks and wine out for us when we arrived. He built a fire in our fireplace. He allowed us to sample some of the local spirits and his family's honey. In the morning, they laid out a beautiful breakfast spread including homemade jams in a simple but elegant breakfast room. Nuno even drove out to find us and pick us up when we got lost trying to find the place. The place was spotless and outfitted with everything you could possibly need for a long or short stay. We only stayed one night, but we wish we could have stayed far, far longer. The area is beautiful and unspoiled as a tourist destination, with long sandy beaches and lovely small towns to explore. You will probably need a car, as it's somewhat remote (about an hour and a half south of Lisbon). But it's a perfect place to stop for a few days on your way from the north to the Algarve, for instance. We can't wait to visit with Nuno and his family at this pristine and traditional place (his family's been on this land for 400 years) again.

MONTE DO BREJINHO DE AGUA is an absolutely amazing experience. Our host, NuNu, went above and beyond the call of duty – in every way imaginable. We were lost and he found us in Grandola and lead us to his beautifully appointed B&B. The next day his directions to places were impeccable. The two-room suite we had was flawless. We rarely come across such attention to detail. It was warm and friendly, tastefully decorated, with a fully equipped kitchen, picture perfect bathroom and very comfortable beds. It is truly a great location for any holiday trip. NuNu and his family presented a perfect Portuguese breakfast and his enthusiasm about the family property and its remarkable history is contagious. We will return and highly recommend.
