My wife and I just got married and we were looking for some magical time. We found it in the mushroom apartment of Minic family. It was so good that we wanted to extend our stay. Unfortunatelly, rain was forcasted for the next few days and we decided to return when there will be snow. Inside is all wood, very warm and insulated. It is small space but utilized in a smart and best possible way. Outside there are wooden chairs, beutiful view, place to make bonefire or bbq and spend great afternoon with friends or spouse after a daily hike. We baked potatoes in the bonefire, had some drinks and dinner outside untill fire burend out, then moved inside and enjoyed the warmth and privacy. Even better, if you can bring another couple and book both mushrooms, that would be great. Looking forward going back there again.

Me and my friend had really nice stay in this cottage. Hosts are friendly and both of them are painters so you can see their art everywhere in the house. There is beautiful terrace with a river view and many trees around. Clean and warm. Highly recommended

We spent a brilliant couple of nights in one of the surreal ‘mushroom’ apartments here whilst using it as a base to explore the nearby Biogradska Gora National Park. While we were there we experienced dramatic storms when walking in the hills so although it was summer, it was amazing to be able to retreat to the warmth of our cosy mushroom-shaped abode after a day’s trekking. We loved the design of the apartment - they are truly unique - and we made full use of the cooking facilities inside, which are adequate albeit on the limited side, and also the bbq/hearth outside. Having these cooking facilities are useful additions as Kolasin itself is an odd little town which doesn’t warrant much time in itself, so having such a unique and intriguing place to stay was very welcome, and of course the proximity to Biogradska Gora was a real plus point too. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in a mushroom house out of curiosity and to see Kolasin for a while. Although this is mainly winter destination, the stay during the summer was awesome. The house is unique and presents excellent views over Tara river and the mountains. Very comfortable and interesting. Caution there are two mushroom houses, make sure to book the one on right from the stairs leading up to the houses, much better view over the valley.

We are a family of four, we stayed here for 2 nights. Very chilled, relaxed welcome when we arrived, We chose Kolasin as we wanted to do some great hiking. We found the beds as hard as rock, with very large deep hard pillows, we didn't sleep at all, plus dogs bark and howl all night. ( not their lovely dog) Shower didn't work well, but that didn't bother us that much. Apartment clean, with a seating area outside, if we had the weather, we would have used it rather than sitting inside. We didn't have good weather when we were there, so that didn't help I suppose, when we did drive to Biogradska Gora National Park, it was cold and grey, even though we had purchased a map the routes were badly sign posted, we spent 1.5 hours walking up the road, when we got to the top, we realised it would have been so much better to pay for a truck to drive to the top, then start the hiking, otherwise it's just a boring zig zag, though the trees, with no views. Out of all the places we visited we would have taken this place out of our itinerary, the hiking in Durmitor was absolutely amazing in comparison. I'm sorry guys, we just didn't gel with Kolasin or the apartment but as I have said I think the poor weather was a big factor.

We stayed in Mushroom B for 3 nights. It was a really cute and original place to stay. I'd also always rather give money straight to someone enterprising in the community than to some bland hotel. Bland this isn't! They've thought about the design cleverly. As you'd expect from a Mushroom the upstairs is a lot bigger than the downstairs. Upstairs is one huge room - bed and sitting area. It doesn't have any windows, though there are 2 hatches down to the outside which you can open. Downstairs is a shower room, and a dining/kitchen area. The kitchen area had most things we needed (I'd brought my own tea towel as reviews had rightly suggested there wasn't one. I'd also have liked cooking utensils as I wasn't keen on using metal cutlery on their nice new saucepans). It's a small space and only fits one at a time but that's fine. It has a fridge, kettle and very new induction hob for one pan (so new that none of us, including our host, could quite work out how to use it properly! But we managed). The hot water in the shower room was never piping hot and because it was quite cool outside when we were there we'd have liked hotter showers. In Summer it wouldn't matter. It was pretty clean when we arrived, though you're close to nature here so should expect the odd spider's web etc. Mushroom A has a better view from their terrace than B. It wasn't quite warm enough for us to sit outside so it didn't matter at all. The wifi worked well most of the time, which is quite impressive given how far you are from the main house. You couldn't stay in the Mushrooms if you had any mobility issues as there are several steps up to them and a steep ladder once inside. Their 2 larger Apartments would probably suit you better in that case. There are 2 Supermarkets in town - Idea and Voli. We were in Kolasin to go hiking in Biogradska Gora National Park and the Bjelasica Mountains. There wasn't a lot of info about specific routes in the UK but the Tourist Office (see photo) in Kolasin will sell you a map and booklet (it's slightly more expensive if you find it elsewhere). You could easily walk in this area for 2 weeks without repeating walks, and there are even some you can do straight from the Apartment. It is a stunning area for walking and I preferred it to Durmitor NP (though we had far better weather here which may have swayed my opinion!)
