Drawbacks: 3 km from centre of Castelnaudary, badly signaled and difficult to find. Breakfast unsatisfactory (fruit salad unedible).
Stay away…
It should be noted that the shower cubicle offers no intimacy so don't share a room if you want your privacy.
We arrived in the dark having eaten in Toulouse and didn't find any helpful signs, as is usual in French towns and villages, not having GPS the co-ordinates given weren't helpful to us. Having found the hotel, thanks to some local youths, found the check-in welcoming and room more than adequate. Being winter the heating was on, when changed to fan to cool it down, it was a bit noisy, so we slept with the window open, which was fine, but would not have been possible later in the year.
The room was very clean and comfortable, if a bit clinical, but I knew it was going to be white. A splash of colour, throw or something similar, would have helped it to feel cosy. Heat does not equal cosy.
We planned to breakfast further along our route, so did not eat at the hotel, but the breakfast area looked welcoming.
We would certainly break our journey here on another occasion, and should find it more easily next time.
Be advised that address and GPS coordinates found on the ETAP and Accor website (july 2011) are wrong and will direct you to the completely wrong location. The hotel management is aware of the problem but seem disinterested to sort it out! The hotel is actually on your right hand side at he exit of the motorway and it is easy to find if you actually know where it is and you don't rely on your GPS navigator.
You can even arrive and do all by card, including getting a code for your room if you wish.
As it happens, we were assisted by the receptionist arriving late at night.
Not where you'd go for a family holiday, but for breaking a journey, couldn't beat it

"Very quiet location, all rooms have excellent noise proofing and shutters that exclude all light and noise if fully closed by guests."Read full review
