Stayed here for the night before an early flight from Newcastle Airport, the hotel is a very convenient 3-5 minute walk from the terminal and metro station.

We received a quick and friendly check in with an offer to book a table in the restaurant if required.

The room was the usual Premier Inn standard I've come to expect after staying in many of these hotels.

We did end up deciding to have dinner in the restaurant which was lovely and great service from the waiter, the buy 2 large glasses of wine and get the rest of the bottle free was a great offer!

I'd definitly stay here again if flying from Newcastle!

I stayed at the Premier Inn Newcastle Airport Hotel for 2 nights on Great North Run weekend. Being a busy weekend I chose this location for ease of access to the city centre and to the start line and had friends also in this hotel stating over for the run. The Airport has its own Metro, and 25 minutes you are in the City centre, ideal for the train station and restaurants/shopping outlets.
The Check-in on Friday afternoon was quick, easy and hassle free. Our room on he third floor was spacious, clean and had all the facilities you would expect - Kettle, hairdryer, spare pillows, large ensuite bathroom etc..
We did not use the eating facilities whilst staying but the restaurant did a range of food/drink options to cater for all needs. Checking out Sunday morning early ahead of my run, i was greeted at reception with a goody bag containing a bottle of water, banana, jelly babies and a good luck postcard from the team. A little touch which was well received and not expected.

We have stayed at this Premier Inn several times prior to early flights the following day. It's ideal for this as it is literally a 3-minute, level walk to the check-in terminal.
As usual we ate in the restaurant and found the food fine and not too expensive, however the service indicated that the staffing levels are minimal.
We received an email in advance to warn us that the lift would be order. Staff to carry luggage and the luggage store on the ground floor were both offered, so we were not greatly inconveniences, and we were pleased to have been notified beforehand.

Have stayed at this hotel several times when flying from Newcastle, often it states parking is chargeable but have never been asked for extra until this time. £6 was charged at check in and when I queried it was told a new company had taken over. If I manage to fly from here again I will use Newcastle South 2 mins down the road or Brittania Hotel. Also I know we are experiencing difficult times but was unhappy to be served dinner (with very limited choice) from a cardboard box with wooden cutlery! I assume the ice cream would have been a tub. Fair enough but to then have breakfast on proper plates with metal cutlery was a pleasant surprise but did not have a lot to eat as staff were not easily available to ask.

Just a minute's walk from Newcastle Airport terminal, this hotel has the most comfortable beds imaginable. Despite the proximity to the airport, it is also very quiet, essential to me for a good night's sleep. All staff are friendly and efficient. Rooms are spacious and well-equipped.

The restaurant is welcoming and offers a better selection of vegan options than previously, though the 'fake and ale' pie is a bit of a mystery as I couldn't work out what was 'fake' about the few mushrooms and carrots in the filling. A better pie would be welcome, to have with the excellent vegan Brewdog IPA.

There is a good choice at breakfast, with porridge freshly made using soya milk on request.

One problem I had when making my booking was that the hotel appeared to be fully booked for the night I wanted to stay. It appeared that there was a glitch on your web site as after several attempts I did manage to secure a room.

This is the 5th time we have now used this hotel as a base to visit Newcastle without having to stay in the city centre. Great location if coming down from Scotland on any 3 of the main A roads. You can then use the Metro station at the airport(2 mins walk) to get into the centre.

Room was what you would expect from a modernised Premier Inn and both nights we stayed we heard hardly any other noise from guests, and only the odd plane from the airport.

Only concern is the car park is a bit highly priced at £6 a night. Totally understand they have to do something to stop airport users parking there, however surely if you are an true guest at hotel, you should get a pass etc?

Anyway, will continue to use when visiting Newcastle.

Check in was quite stranger I was asked for ethnicity and asked for my ID to prove that, I’ve never been asked that when checking in. The lift was broken the whole stay so had to carry heavy luggage. The room was just very average; cannot fault premier inn Bed absolutely lovely sleep. House keepers never once cleaned our room or offered to give us a change of towels. I expected better from premier inn Newcastle.

I have stayed in this hotel many times in the past, but since covid it's standards seem to have fallen. The meals we had on our first night were very small portions and one meal was cold when it came. Hence we went elsewhere for meals for the rest of our stay. The staff were not as friendly as in the past and the rooms and restaurant area were tired and un-inviting.

The parking charge, I feel is no longer necessary has there is no one staying using the airport. I feel that Premier Inn are milking the guests with the £6 charge for parking.

The bed was uncomfortable and probably needs replacing as in the past the beds were one of Premier Inns best qualities.

Stayed one night March 2020, in family room, clean and quiet, Now restaurant Hm! Menu ok but quality was poor in product, we ha the Thai fusion menu which was poor, over cooked, tasteless and when served was minus one item which was sent out late.thai curry was powdery in texture, like Thai package powder taste, bland taste, salad waste was covered in a mayonnaise cream, rice flavour less . Down right poor. I cook a hell of a lot better Thai than this, I’m English in mid 60’s.
Staff in restaurant were amateurish at best, poor service, and had the cheek to on bill state no gratuity is included, yeh right! Tip..... don’t walk in front of a bus. Sorry overall poor meal and service

The good thing is this hotel is only 2 minutes walk from Newcastle Airport and from there you can catch the excellent Metro to Gateshead, Newcastle, Sunderland (55 minutes from the airport to Sunderland) and towns and villages in between.
We booked this hotel as we flew to and from Newcastle Airport to attend a family funeral and we usually like Premier Inns. This is the poorest example of the chain we’ve stayed in.
We booked an accessible room as my husband walks with a stick and we have often been placed a long walk from reception and the restaurant. We will never do this again as the bed was very small and I found it very hard. There was plenty of space in the room and the bathroom plus sufficient hanging and shelf space for our 2 night stay. However the heating was not on before our arrival and the room was 16 degrees C. Despite following the instructions on the card in the room the heating kept reverting to 16. We did ask for a blanket and were given an extra duvet (they don’t have blankets), which was very heavy as an extra cover.
We booked dinner in Premier Inn’s own restaurant (there is no adjoining Harvester or similar pub). The food was awful. My husband’s fish and chips were just about ok but there were bones in the fish and the chips were not good. My pizza was completely flat and overcooked, I left most of it. There was very little choice for vegetarians. My glass of Merlot tasted like the bottle had been open for a few days.
Breakfast was the usual good Premier Inn spread, except I noticed a thick layer of dust on top of the coffee machine. It should be noted that breakfast doesn’t start until 6.30 am, which is too late for early airport check ins (there are several restaurants once you have passed through Security at the airport). My husband ordered a cooked breakfast but this took ages to come and was not what he’d ordered, although the quality was good. The staff were pleasant and friendly enough but there were only two of them at dinner and one at breakfast, not enough to cope with the number of guests.
Finally, it does say on the card that holds your room key that you have to tell Reception if you want your room cleaned. We didn’t notice this. In fact, we discovered, it means you don’t get your dirty towels replaced or your coffee/tea/milk replaced although you can do the latter at Reception.
