We spent a night here on our way home from holiday. Despite the covid restrictions we had a wonderful stay in this unusual gem! Our room was built into the side of a cave overlooking the swimming pool - never stayed in such an unusual location! The hotel was well organised to ensure social distancing and the staff were very helpful and accommodating - the wonderful manager made sure we knew exactly where everything was an how covid protocols worked and also made suggestions for a place to eat dinner. We'd love to return here again one day.
The owner was warm and welcoming, We had two rooms one in the Troglodytique and the other beside reception. The best part is swimming in the Troglodytique, also the pool is open anytime just respect the noise levels. We were lucky enough with the weather to have breakfast outside, it is a breakfast buffet. A 2 minute walk to The Domaine Filliatreau for wine tasting...so good we came home with six bottles.
Near Saumur in the Loire Valley , this 17th century small hotel (only 7 rooms and suites) is an exceptional find, and we loved it here. A lovely big room with a large bathroom, and the sleeping area is up an wrought iron winding staircase (suite 09) Yannick the owner could not have been more helpful and hospitable. A lovely terrace on which to enjoy an evening drink, a vineyard below you, and a village walking distance from the hotel where there are at least two first class restaurants. Next morning there is a delicious breakfast served. Do not miss a swim in the hotel's "indoor" heated swimming pool, which is dug into the rocks. It's magical. Other reviews have said that this place is unique - it is, and very special too.
We stayed in the cave suite and absolutely loved it! We were a little hesitant when we arrived; the room is a cave and as such does smell a bit damp when you arrive, just like the vineyard caves of the area! The host had put the dehumidifier on and we opened the windows and soon the room transformed to a lovely cosy little home! Very comfortable bed, hot water, clean bathroom and a lovely private terrace perfect for evening drinks. The swimming pool was great fun, we loved swimming in the cave. The pool is heated to about 27degc and there is a hot shower just next to it. Breakfast was really good, fresh bread and pastries. Eggs and meats. Plus some fantastic cheeses, yogurt and cakes. Beautiful coffee terrace overlooking the vineyard and garden. Lovely restaurant in the village just a short 10 min walk from the hotel. The host and staff were very friendly and helpful and seemed to really care for the guests and were proud of their hotel. Note the suite has a narrow spiral staircase access to the bedroom and so may not be suitable for some visitors. Highly recommend this hotel for a unique experience filled with charm and character, we didn't want to leave!…
This Logis is something very special. We chose to stay in one of the Troglodyte rooms, set into the side of the cliff. It was magical! So quiet inside and beautifully decorated/equipped. The surprise is the underground swimming pool - another magical feature. Breakfast was superb, with local ingredients and a large choice. highly recommended!
