We only stayed at Bagni di Pisa for one night, but what an incredible hotel it is! The room felt like we were in a palace, and was the biggest hotel room we have ever stayed in! The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs, including helping with airport transfer etc. There was a great selection at breakfast, which (rare for Italy) even had a wide variety of vegan alternatives. Perhaps because we came late in the season, but the spa/pool was one area that felt a little forgotten amongst the grand hallways and bedrooms. But that’s if I’m being really picky- and we are definitely hoping to come back for a longer stay next time!
This hotel was out this world. The staff were amazing and very attentive. Simone in the bar was amazing as were the rest. The staff have excellent English. You can tell why this is a 5 star hotel. The room we had was beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed. Apart from there being no coffee or tea facilities ( not the end of the world. It is just something we are used to). The ground were gorgeous and the walk to the top of their gardens is worth it for the view! The spa wad lovely. Unfortunately the grotto wad not open as a warning. However the rest is great and relaxing. The indoor pool for abit of a jacuzzi and the outdoor one was great for sunbathing and relaxing and of course going for a dip. We stayed for our honeymoon. We traveled into pisa then got a quick train to the town it is in. Then it was only a 5minute walk from there. The train station there is also only 20mins direct to Lucca with stunning views. Which we fell in LOVE with. The hotel is expensive for food and drink - which you would expect. The town has a wonderful bar and bakery where is €4 a drink and a pizza place if you fancy something cheaper for food. All in all we miss this place already.…
Do not pay attention to the aspect of the building when arriving...like a haunted manor ! Everything is happening inside...staff members are paying so much attention to your well being ! It is a real pleasure to feel the attention given to any of the details, specially for you, individually. The Suite was very nice, the pools are amazing. The cleaning is perfect, the hospitality as well It is a proper 5 stars hotel as if you were in your own cocoon where time would stopto run so fast ! Kids were not only welcome but also had their own bathrobes...this is another detail that helps the all family to feel comfortable everything was great !
Well known thermal spa hotel which oozes 18th century elegance and has (very) distant views of the leaning tower. Our large suite had wonderfully frescoed ceilings, complimentary fruit and biscuits, but no USB sockets, no tea & coffee facilities and no iron. There’s no gym available but the thermal spa area is a great way to relax and spend a few hours. The outside pool is small but very nice too. The deckchairs are hard and uncomfortable however and really need a topper. The grotto was closed apparently due to Covid reasons despite all restrictions having been lifted. The biggest issue we found was food and beverage which was expensive and not very good, especially at the main restaurant (Dei Lorena). So our recommendation would be to dine elsewhere.
Loved this hotel in its peaceful setting and quiet village of San Giuliano. The hotel is actually a palace and is like a maze but maps are provided which made it easier to find your bearings. The spa pools are so relaxing and were quiet every time we went .All the staff were lovely and helpful. We ate in the restaurant the first night as a treat but couldn’t afford to eat there every night . There is a lovely pizza place and ice-cream parlor just outside the hotel gates . Also walk up the square and turn left….There’s an excellent restaurant called Sora Bruno . The train station is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel with regular trains to Pisa and Luca , both worth a visit. I’d definitely recommend a stay at this hotel .
Loved the place - good room, great hotel, and the spa facilities are really good. As others have written, the bathrooms are a bit old fashioned, but otherwise we had a great time and would consider staying again. The stand out is the staff - friendly, helpful, nothing too much trouble - it really does make for a wonderful experience.
-Reception : very nice lady -Room : We got upgraded to a junior suite which was really nice. Unfortunately, it was two single beds next to each other and I specifically requested before coming that I wanted a REAL double bed. (Those things matter when it comes to a 5 star hotel) -Spa : really nice. However, someone was supposed to show us around and we had to request it. (Again not the standards) That one lady didn’t speak English at all and just didn’t care. We had to ask again about some pools and missed the mud bath because of this. Disappointing, -Restaurant : AWFUL. It ruined our night, really. 1) you can’t find the menu anywhere so it’s a big surprise when you discover the menu already seated at the restaurant. It’s super expensive for very basic plates. We wanted to run away but decided to order a primi plati. It was the most basic pasta plate at 24€. There was no one in the restaurant so the waitresses (at least 5 people) were coming to ask us if everything was fine bla-bla-bla but every single minute!!’ It was so annoying. Again, we are in a 5 star hotel, some standards need to be met. We were still hungry and decided to leave after 20min. (We usually stay an 1h30 at a restaurant and we did multiple Michelin restaurant so we know what we talk about). We were so sad and found the cutest restaurant across the street. Plates are around 8€, is well reviewed on Tripadvisor/Google and locals go there. My advice would be to AVOID the restaurant at ALL COST. -Breakfast: Basic but ok. For a 5 star hotel, they should have fresh homemade juice which is not the case. I asked for an Americano and they served me INSTANT COFFEE. At that point, I could not no more. I ordered an espresso afterwards and it was a good one. Can’t believe that in Italy, in a palace, they don’t know how to make an Americano! -The hotel: Very nice place but below standards for a 5 start. Would say more a 3-4 stars My deception was big as it was the last day of our trip. I wanted to have the most magical time with my boyfriend and it wasn’t the case. :(…
Let me begin by saying this hotel is very impressive. It was built by the Grand Duke Francesco di Lorena and is located a few miles from Pisa. It’s well known for its thermal spas and restaurant. We only stayed one night. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and well appointed. My only concern was the bathtub was tall and surrounded by glass. Getting in and out to access the shower was tricky for older folks like me. The palace is quite large and it’s easy to get lost. We finally took a staircase to get to the main floor when we couldn’t find the elevator. I’d suggest adding directional signs. Overall a very nice stay.
Came for the spa - chose the Ladies 50+package as it looked to have everything I needed. The package is excellent - extrenely co -rehensive and well put together. 7 nights and 6 days all inclusive ( escept for drinks, which also means water - a bit of a blip for a spa, but water fountains everywhere ) . On arrivl a thotough examination by a doctor and lengthy interview, again with tests , with amdietician. 3 kunches ech with the doctor and the dietitian who check on the diet provided. Meals in the Lorena restaurant- excellent and satisfying. Also a one hour lesson with a chef who showed me a few tips on how to make virtually fat-free dishes creamy and full of flavour. Room spacious and well appointed - kettle, and coffee maker in room with good selection of teas and coffees. Lovely high cielings with restored xviii century frescoes. Beautiful. The whole hotel has an air of old time gentility - dining room and bars evoke a more elegant era. You want to dress for dinner. No loud backround music or irritaning lighting. Very mellow. Spa staff friendly and smiling, bending over backwards to accomodate you. Trainers extemely competent and well qualified. Attentive and observant , capable if seeing what level of excercise will benefit. At no time are you pushed too far - yet no slacking either. Massage treatments excellent - the 90’ ones fantastic: my back and neck will be forever grateful. As many towels and bathrobes available as you want. Also slippers and swim caps. There is also direct access access to the actual Bagni di Pisa thermal area , where medical treatment is taken . I had hot mud treatment and salt bed treatment , prescribed by my doctor, for my aches and pains. Planning on coming back next year for 12 days , to cover the medical prescription. Negatives? The lifts are slow, and the hotel bathrobes are a bit skimpy for a curvy lady of a certain age, but the spa bathrobes are great, so that’s what I’m using. All in all a wonderful experience. Will be leving tomorrow well relaxed and full of energy. Was forgetting - excellent wine selection in the restaurant which I was not allowed on my diet, but tomorrow my lunch will be diet free so I might indulge.…
We stayed at the hotel from Wednesday 2nd March to Friday 4th March 2022 and had the most marvellous time. The hotel is located in beautiful surroundings and has a relaxing calm feel to it. The rooms are magnificent and the staff were fabulous and really couldn't have been more helpful. The Spa is also definitely worth visiting and the food was magnificent. Getting to Pisa is easy and we would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return next year!
