If you ever happen to be in Livorno, and think that going to Marina di Pisa for lunch would be a good idea, perhaps read this, and don’t do it. Instead, read reviews on TripAdvisor! A Livorno shop assistant, when asked about a good local restaurant, suggested Mahalo, in Marina di Pisa. She said it was 10 or 15 minutes drive from where we were, was beautifully by the sea, with excellent local food, at local prices. Off we went! 35 minutes later, 37 Euros poorer, our taxi driver finally found the cafe in a campground! Carlo, the owner of the ‘restaurant,’ asked if we knew his wife. The penny dropped. The food was very average, the pricing was OK, compared to our taxi fare. After our meal we found it was difficult, and expensive, to get a taxi back to Livorno. Carlo got the quote, which was for just over twice the cost of getting there, and that was a bit more than the cost of our meal! When the driver finally arrived, he told us it would be five Euros more than we had been quoted over the phone, to take us to our ship. The driver, who seemed like a maniac, with not many life preservation desires (but, it must be added, he did not kill us en-route), would not drop us off where we needed to be, but rather dumped us in front of the Coast Guard office. We had to walk a significant distance to a bus stop after that, to get back to the ship. Please do not think we are blaming any other than ourselves for the situation. We did not think it through! Too hungry for a local meal, I guess. Just be aware of our story, if you are tempted by a promise of a good local meal when the person promising happens to be the wife of the restaurant owner in the campground in Marina di Pisa, think back to our experience! It’s a bit of a story in the future for after cocktails, don’t you think? <g>

We spent a night in a tent there. The camp area overall looks nice and staff is good. The beach is a little pond over the road but so are most of them in that area. The tenting area is a mess, have to find yourself a spot between the trees, slopes and other tents. Thankfully We had a small tent. And the road on the other side of the fence will make it a night to remember

This is not a bad camping, but compared to other ones we have visited it's huge and service is not so nice. You have to pay for a hot shower (not a big deal, but still annoying), and it is definitely noisy in the morning! Nevertheless, just cross the road there is a small beach, which is for free for guests.

I stayed at the camping just one night, as the place for tents was very close to the road and it was very noisy all night. Probably if you stay in a hut it is much better, but the area for tents is quite small and really poor. The restaurant was dirty (toilets were terrible!) and the food was at most average. The private beach is quite small, but this is normal in this area.

We were too long for this campings places, but managed somehow to fit, a lot of old houses on wheels makes you feel not in the best place, but it is quite. The best thing - super beach included, with bar. Super bar. Worth to stay in that camping for this bar.

Camping Internazionale is your average Italian camping site. A little sandy, ok, but the place is very nice with lots of shading trees. Showers and toilets are very clean. They have a big restaurant with decent food. The best thing is the beach club right across the road: couches, tables, all clean, great staff. At night they turn the place into a lounge club, hundreds of candles, even on the rock barriers, lounge music and excellent cocktails. A must see.

We stayed here only one night. The camping is really big 50.000 sqm and the road are very sandy which makes the camping very dusty, after only one night our camper was full of dust. The toilet and shower are very clean. You need to pay extra for hot water, which is not a problem. The problem is that the machine to activate the hot water is outside the shower and it last 3 minutes, if you want to add another 3 minutes you must get out of the shower to put your tag again into the machine, pretty annoying for me that has long hair and need it another 3 minutes. The entertainment for the children was so loud we couldn't really seep until they were not finished at midnight. At 7 am the empty the bin around the camping making again a lot of noise. Not a place I recommend for people that want to relax. The staff was very friendly.
