We discovered Villa Martina by coincidence when we wanted to stop for a rest after a long journey south from Firenze.
Our jaw dropped when the owner himself opened the door to our room for us! Beautifully designed, embroidered pillow cases, gold colored poster bed apart from air conditioning, TV, shower etc. the owners themselves are very nice and were especially helpful to my wife who was suffering from a cold by supplying fresh lemons, a vacuum flask with hot water for the night and some very nice biscuits.
Truly excellent.

We had a really good time there, nice place for a couple. Good breakfast, not far away from the city center, the port and two nice beaches. Big and clean room, and the people are friendly and helpful. If you take the train just think to reserve a taxi in advance or you will pay more. :-)

We stayed here for two nights to visit this pleasant small town and the nearby Greek ruins of Paestum. We received a warm welcome from the owners who had gone to the trouble of getting English speaking relatives to join them to help welcome us. The en-suite room was very clean, spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast very good indeed at a time to suit. They arranged a taxi to take up to Paestum for just 6 Euros (probably 10 Kilometres away), and were so helpful in every way. Can't recommend this place too highly.
We can also recommend Agropoli for it's old town and extensive beaches.

Room Tip: The room at the back of the house, opening into the garden is best
