The clock is ticking nearer to the time when the Garabandal prophecy will unfurl. We arrived at Hosteria Garabandal in October for a stay of 4 days. Sari was there to greet us with her usual, warm welcome. A coach was parked in the driveway, full of visiting pilgrims, as so often is the case. Our usual room on the second floor was already occupied, but we had one just opposite which still had a very good view over the Pines. As a place of pilgrimage, there was obviously no TV or toiletries in the rooms, but they were very clean and comfortable with ample wardrobe space. Access to the rooms are via stairs. We booked breakfast and evening meal, but it is possible to have lunch if required. Breakfast is coffee/tea - fresh crusty bread with spreads and cake. The evening meals are really good - home cooked and tasty. In the basement of the hotel is a lounge area and a room where a TV facility can play DVDs of the Prophecies of Garabandal for coach groups and other visitors. The village still maintains it's authenticity and thankfully, does not welcome commercialism. The old school, is now the Garabandal Centre where you will find Michael who is most helpful and will address any questions you may have. As you stand above the Pines you can look across to the hotel. Here you also have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountainside, where, when the time comes, will be filled with people who will travel to see the Miracle. Garabandal, Fatima and Akita all have the same message. We spent 4 wonderful days here and hope to return. Wake up world - you need to know the importance of this place and stay at Hosteria Garabandal to learn more.

I booked for two nights and ended up staying for 4 nights, The hotel is very clean and friendly and located in the village. The food is very good, Breakfast lunch and evening meal is available with holes some cooking. I was in room 14 which is poorly located for natural light, but hey, who cares. Lovely place.

Very comfortable beds and exceptionally clean. The girls serving our meals had such a lot to do but were very efficient. The bar here was not open but it wasn't a problem, we just walked to the local bar for coffee, tea or a drink.

Quaint Hotel very clean and friendly. Food good. Advise to book your meals in advance as the village is very Quaint and has no shops. Lovely family. Loved my trip. Bought me away from all the hustle and busted of life. I also connect with Garabandal Heaven. Visit a must

We have been visiting Garabandal at intervals of over the past 26 years. This is a very special location associated with over 2,000 visions of Our Blessed Lady to 4 young , local Spanish girls which began on 18th June 1961. Rosaura (Sari), and her husband run the Hosteria Garabandal, now assisted by their son and daughter. Pilgrims arrive from all parts of the world, many of whom stay here. The rooms are basic but are clean and tidy with bathrooms attached. We always have a room which looks directly over The Pines where many of the visions took place. There is no lift, so you have to be prepared for stairs. Sari, is the sister of Marie Loli, one of the visionaries who died a few years back. Sari is a wonderful hostess and makes you feel really welcome. Food in the restaurant, a few yards away walk from the hotel is all home cooked and very tasty. Breakfast is simply coffee, basket of bread/toast with jams and a cake. Everything here is simple and retains it's natural beauty. The local mayor has ensured this village will not be spoilt or commercialised. The houses have been updated, as has the little church - a far cry from what they were like when I first visited. This Cantabrian village never had a large population, but now has even less - about 50 residents. A new road up to the village was built a few years ago to make easier access, especially for coaches, as well as an access road round the side of the mountain for the disabled, when the Miracle and Permanent Sign comes to fruition. This is a truly remarkable place where peace and nature can be found in abundance.

My husband and I just returned from a four day stay in Garabandal. We stayed at Hosteria Garabandal. Our lovely hostess was Rosaura who is the owner of the place. She was very accommodating and friendly. Even though it was cold in April when we visited, the rooms were always comfortable and warm. TThe grounds at the inn are very lovely also. The rooms are clean and updated and we had lovely views of the pines and mountains from our room. The dinners were the highlight of our stay in the hotel. The first night we had a delicous fish and the day before our departure we had the most decadent pork loin in a DELICIOUS sauce. That was a treat! The inn is located int he small village. The village is charming with breathtaking views of the mountains. People who come here for spiritual reasons. They know about the Blessed Mother's apparitions in the 1960s. Even if you are not religous, this a great place to visit to take in nature and meditate. There is no luxuty here and it is not needed. It is all about simplicity and natural beauty. Hosteria Garabandal is an exellent choice for those travelling here. The one recommendation I would make to the owners is to have internet in the rooms. There is currently internet service in the lounge next to the bar and restaurant, however, there is no privacy if you need to catch up on some work or make a phone call using Skype. I think this is the only thing that some people may recommend when they stay at the Hosteria, though, you should try to come here to enjoy and take in the magic of the place and not to do work. From Garabandal, one can take several day trips to other villages. We went to the most charming village called "Potes". We also went on a day trip to Oviedo in Asturia. It is worth the drive. Overall, Garabandal was the best part of our trip to Spain. Rosaura, thank you so much for your hospitality and to the two ladies who help you in the restaurant. They were very nice and accommodating. Thanks again. Julio and Josephine

I stayed for 7days and 6 nights. It was the month of December. It was cold outside in the 40 degrees in Fahrenheit temperature. Inside my room was warm in the 68 degree Fahrenheit temperature. I had an extra blanket added to my bed and was warm. I was not on any pilgrimage or with a group. I ate breakfast consisting of 3 to four cups of cafe lattes, toast, or muffins. Dinner was served at 7:30 pm. It was a full Spanish cuisine and tasted good. My daughter spoke Spanish and we came up in a rental car. Her cell phone did not work. No TV. It was a quiet atmosphere. There is a pay phone in the village on the first block in the neighborhood. We brought extra food because we knew that when in a remote village groceries and amenities are farther away. We felt relaxed, happy, and without stress in our lives. We would take the car to visit other places in the area.

When you travel here you really need to realize it is a pilgramage and that there are few amentiies. When we stayed it was cold and I was told it is always very damp. The heat is turned off at 8 am and most the time turned on around 8pm. One day it wasn't turned on until 2 in the morning. Bring very warm clothes! The food was very good for the most part but you eat when they say. If you are with a group and part of it isn't there you just don't eat. This was a problem with us in that 1/2 the group went on a tour and didn't return until 830 at night. We were refused food! Bring food with you. It is a good idea to bring breakfast with you. Bread and coffee is served and a muffin or cookie is usually served but I brought oatmeal and made it there and it was a welcome addition. Learn to use the pay phone outside for it is much cheaper than the one at the bar. The church is very cool and damp and it is a good idea to be prepared for this. Sometimes there is a small heater that helps.
