Excellently places hotel for touring Cantabria from Santander to Los Picos. Such friendly staff who cannot do enough for you, had an excellent room on the third floor with everything I could have asked for. A perfect place for my introduction to Northern Spain.

Finding an accessible room with roll in shower is very difficult and this was the best option in the area.. the bedroom was small with 2 very large beds. The wardrobe was in the entrance hall so not easily accessible for me.There was a bath in the bathroom but a drain in front of the toilet with hand held shower. Not the best adapted bathroom but useable. There is a lift down to the very nice dining room and breakfast was very good. The unexpected cost of 5€per day for parking seemed excessive especially as for one night we were the only guests in the hotel. As we do not speak Spanish and the staff speak neither English or French there was little communication. The proximity to Comillas is a bonus.

The place has everything you need, staff is very helpful and friendly, they accepted us with a dog that was important for us! The hotel is located walking distance from the town center, Gaudi building and the beach, although in a very quiet area. The only problem is that they charge for parking, but there's always free parking slots on the street in front of the hotel))

Hotel El Tejo is ideally located on the edge of town enjoying a semi-rural setting with vews from the front terrace of horses grazing in a green hill field opposite but also proximity to everywhere in town. The Palacio de Sobrellano and El Capricho de Gaudi are in the adjacent Park. The town centre, with its charming squares, is a short walk as is the Cementerio with the Beach & Port a short distance further. The bar and reception area is welcoming and comfortable. The dining room likewise. Breakfast featured a wide and tasty buffet selection, and plenty of it. The room was comfortable and well appointed. Good free WiFi throughout the property. Everywhere and everything was clean and tidy. Staff and management were welcoming, friendly and helpful. I would certainly stay here again if I return to Comillas.

I stayed at the hotel for two nights in September 2013, as I was invited to a wedding in the area. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, from the moment of the telephone booking but also during my stay. It is great value for money, since it is clean, cosy, it has an amazing view and is within walking distance from the sights in Comillas. The room was spacious, traditional and decorated with a good taste, and the bathroom had a lot of extras (blowdryer, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo). The breakfast was adequate and fresh. I will definitely stay at el Tejo next time I visit Comillas!
